Still not clear on how to actually use the buses in this country, an in app explanation for tourists would be appreciated ### 1/5 — Useless app *2025-08-24* ⭐ (1/5 stars) This app is completely useless for actual bus travel. Here are the major problems that make it barely functional: **No Route Planning**: You cannot search for a route between two points and get bus connections. This is literally the most basic feature any transit app should have - how am I supposed to plan my journey? **Limited Route Information**: You cannot view all bus stops for each line, which makes trip planning nearly impossible when combined with the lack of route search. **Useless Live Tracking**: While the app offers live bus tracking, it's practically worthless. The tracking only shows generic lines on main roads without any time estimates or clear location references. I can't tell when the bus will actually arrive at my stop. **No Ticket Purchase Feature**: The inability to buy ride tickets through the app is a major inconvenience in 2025. Most transit apps integrated this basic functionality years ago. **Bottom Line**: This app fails at every essential function a transit app should provide. I cannot plan routes, cannot see proper schedules, cannot track buses effectively, and cannot buy tickets. What exactly is this app supposed to do? Would have Ben really usefull to know where to buy tickets ! ### 1/5 — Nul *2025-06-16* J’ai jamais vu une application et un réseau de bus aussi nul, aucune info pratique ### 1/5 — Extremely Unfriendly for Tourists *2025-03-09, version 2.1.0* Considering that the city’s public transport isn’t integrated with Google Maps, you’re forced to download this awful Libertas app if you want to take a bus. First of all, the app is useless for planning routes — it can’t tell you which bus to take to reach your destination. The timetable only shows the departure times from the starting station, so you have no idea when the bus will arrive at your stop. All you can do is waste time waiting. To make things worse, you can’t even buy tickets through the app! You either have to find an offline store to get them or pay a higher price on the bus. For a city that relies on tourism, this is an incredibly unfriendly experience. ### 1/5 — Worst Public Transport App Ever *2024-09-10* This app is completely useless! The user experience is terrible, and I seriously wonder why it was even built. None of the functionalities work properly—it’s impossible to use this app to get from one place to another or even find information about upcoming buses. Everything is broken. It would be easier if bus routes were available on mapping apps like Apple/Google Maps and Transit, but you can't check their either. Overall using Libertas as Dubrovnik's public transit system and the app makes for a frustrating experience attempting to get around the City ### 1/5 — Really bad *2024-08-09* This app is a usability nightmare. See other opinions or for yourself (if you dare) ### 1/5 — Unfortunately the only way to navigate public transportation *2024-08-05* The app is shockingly unhelpful and makes the already confusing public transportation harder to use. Nowhere in Apple or Google Maps is any information about bus routes, or even where bus stops are. This forces you to use this app, which only shows where lines go and where stops are. You can only view 1 bus line at a time, so figuring out transfers is extremely frustrating. The bus stops are also only visible when zoomed in, otherwise they get grouped together and shown as a number of stops in an area. It sounds like you can now see when the next bus is coming when you click on a stop, a feature that wasn’t in previous versions, although I have noticed it only works about half the times I checked this. You cannot search in the app, so no way of finding stops, seeing which stop is near a point of interest, no creating routes, nothing. If someone tells you "go to this stop" or "get off at that stop" then you have to already know where the stop on the map is (or just start tapping all stations and hope you find it). The app is also partially in Croatian, and this doesn’t change with the language settings. For someone who has used public transportation frequently in European cities, the experience was unnecessarily difficult. I can’t imagine how intimidating this would be for tourists who don’t regularly ride buses. Please consider making the app more useful. ### 1/5 — Indredible *2024-07-23* You can’t do more useless ### 1/5 — Terrible *2024-07-05, version 2.1.0* Claims to show live tracking of buses - doesn’t (reliably). Instead only tells you the timetable for the time when buses will arrive - the app removes the clock at the top of your phone when it is open. The buses do not arrive on time, so the timetable is useless. Was waiting for a bus to arrive at 8:05 and the bus after that was to arrive at 8:45. The bus arrived at 8:25. You can’t plan a trip, you can’t see when a line departs at a stop. You can see a timetable for a line, but it’s unclear when it’ll be at the stops you care about. It shows the upcoming departures at a station, but not for a future date. What a complete disgrace. I don’t even understand how this has a 1.x rather than a flat 1.0 rating. ### 1/5 — Barely functional if it works at all *2026-07-06, version 2.1.0* Times are not accurate. Often says bus in 6 min which then says for the next 20 min while you wait thinking it will be there shortly. Often stops disappear from the app while searching for them only to reappear a few min later. If you’re a local, you probably never need it — and if you’re a tourist, it’s not helpful at all. The public transport department refuses to share route information with Google Maps, which is a terrible policy that only makes getting around harder. It honestly feels like Dubrovnik’s mission is to discourage people from visiting… mission accomplished! ### 1/5 — Rudimentär App *2025-10-01* Auf der App kann man nur die Fahrpläne der Buslinien nachsehen; weder erfährt man etwas über die verschiedenen Ticketarten noch kann man ein Online-Ticket erwerben. This chaos is so typical for this city. A lot of Dubrovnik is just „taking how it is“ ## Most praised reviews (7 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — interconnectedness of things! *2024-04-01, version 2.1.0* After visiting Dubrovnik and Cavtat from the UK last year (2023) we noticed the number 10 bus passing our apartment. This year we are returning armed with this app. This is going to help us on our determination to explore further afield. Already we can see the routes around Dubrovnik and buses pottering around from our home in England. It’s great to see the interconnectedness of things! ### 4/5 — Hilfreiche Bus-App zum Zurechtfinden *2024-09-26* Ich kann die schlechten Bewertungen nicht zu 100% nachvollziehen. Ja, es ist keine Hightech-App auf der man eine Route von Haltestelle A zu Haltestelle B oder von Ort A zu Ort B eingeben kann. Um zu wissen, wann Busse und welche Busse von einer Haltestelle aus fahren, ist die App absolut ausreichend. Für mich war diese App eine Pflicht, um mit den richtigen Bussen zu meinem Appartment zu gelangen. We ended up using dubrovnik citybus.com and it saved all the headaches ### 2/5 — Not very userfriendly *2025-11-01* It‘s missing an option to type in one‘s location and destination and the app tells you which bus to take from where and when. In general the timing is very inaccurate, I can‘t tell when the bus is going to arrive at my destination.
