Sure it looks pretty but it's much more difficult ti navigate. I've listened to Librivox daily for years so this is very frustrating. One example is in the old app I could just press the author or readers name while in a book and it would automatically pull up a list of their work. Also, the search bar used to be much more accessible. Please update again to retrieve all of the capabilities this app used to have. I have to manually go back. This will become very tedious and annoying. Please FIX. This is way better than any other podcast app I have tried. Also love the ease of making lists and it serves up the newest Librivox offerings, and it displays the cover art. I could go on and on raving about this app. I have the paid version, which has no ads. Be sure to tap the wave form below the open chapter to change it out for the much more useful slide bar. Still the best app out there! NOTE to DEVELOPER: Only one frustration and don't know exactly when developer changed this but it's really annoying. For some reason the developer removed the go back or forward by chapter feature or to let you start the book over. I often fall asleep while listening and need to go back one or more chapters, can no longer do it. Or when going between listening on iPhone to iPad I need to go ahead a few chapters. Really annoying. Won’t let me listen offline!! In fact some won’t play at all! Fixed it cutting off anymore. ——// Since last update ( I’ve gotta learn not to sucker into the updates!!) it cuts off after a couple of minutes. Can’t use until you fix it! Downloaded the free version and it’s quitting too! ### 1/5 — Thia version is broken! *2023-09-24, version 8.11.1* Normally a great app, but in this latest version the navigation controls have gone! You can no longer jump to previous chapter or next chapter. Nor can you slide a control to go to a certain point within that chapter. Those control buttons and slider have simply gone! The only way now to go to another chapter is to go back to the chapter list and select that other chapter. (The 'skip' buttons are still there, but they only skip forward or back about 15 seconds. And on the lock screen you can still 'slide' forward and back within the chapter but you can't gi to next or previous chapters even on the lock screen.) I have resorted to using an old phone which still has the previous good version of the app on it. Kicking myself for 'upgrading' to this version when it was working ok before. Looking at how to 'downgrade' to the previous version, but that's never easy. I hope the developers can fix the problem soon! ### 1/5 — Constant glitches & download failures *2022-07-10, version 8.4.4* When you click out of a book to go back to the list of other books, it does not let you see the titles and they all get shoved off the screen to the right and you have to close the app and come back or it will not let you fix it. This happens every single time. Also, even if I download the books it does not let me listen to them when I am off-line. I lose my money with this ### 1/5 — Recordings Keep Cutting Off *2022-06-08, version 8.4.0* In both the Pro and original versions of this app, recordings have been repeatedly cutting off, often mid-sentence. To make matters worse, the app then loses your place, so when you go to resume listening, you have to fast forward over parts you’ve already heard. This began happening the moment they began charging for ad free service. So I’m now paying for a worse product. ### 1/5 — Stops playing after 1 minute *2022-06-07, version 8.4.0* After using this app for years, it stopped working in May 22 and is now unusable. It will play for about one minute, then it stops. Used to be a 4 star app when it worked. Easy, maybe a bit outdated, yet effective. Until a new update placed visual design over practicality. Now I can’t find what I was reading.
