As India’s largest insurer, LIC urgently needs to modernize its digital tech stack. The app suffers from frequent server timeouts, login failures, broken navigation, and random session crashes. Simply trying to check policy details or complete a basic premium payment feels like a frustrating chore rather than a modern digital experience. Security shouldn't come at the cost of basic usability, and constant minor updates seem to fix nothing under the hood. LIC needs to stop patching outdated infrastructure and completely overhaul this app with modern mobile development standards, proper backend infrastructure, and a fluid UI/UX. Currently unusable. ### 1/5 — My experience with LIC Digital App - IOS platform - July 2026 *2026-07-31* I have installed this app sometime back and every time I open this it says VPN detected and refuses to open. I disabled VPN - using to secure for web browsing only not for apps - and tried. Still it is allowing me to login by different errors like try different login id, tried user name, opt etc .. all gave same answer try different ways to login. Their website which was very very good as I was able to see my policy details, now it is asking me to use mobile app. Now I am stuck. Companies like HDFC, Care Insurance all are working fine with my VPN on, and give same information but for LIC.. Digital First is completely a failure for LIC. Forcing customers to go to the LIC BRANCH. ### 1/5 — Very Poor Experience – Online Payment Feature is Broken *2026-07-22* I have been trying to pay my LIC premium through the app for the last 10 days, but the online payment feature simply does not work. The UPI payment option is poorly implemented. There is no field to enter a UPI ID, and the app only displays “Process” and “Cancel” without allowing the payment to proceed. As a result, I have been unable to complete my payment. It is disappointing that such a critical feature was released without proper testing. Customers rely on the app for timely premium payments, and failures like this can lead to unnecessary delays and inconvenience. Please thoroughly test the application before releasing updates. An app from an organization like LIC should provide a reliable and seamless user experience. ### 1/5 — LIC Digital App Not Displaying Policy Details *2026-07-18* I have been facing an issue with LIC Digital app for the last 1 month. The app keeps loading and does not display any of my LIC policy details. Despite multiple attempts, the information remains inaccessible This is very inconvenient for Customer who rely on the app to view policy information, premium details and other important updates. There has been no clear communication regarding the issue, making it difficult to understand whether this is technical problem or an international change I request LIC to solve this issue at the earliest and provide transparency on status of Customer policy information within app. A digital service should be reliable and readily accessible to policy holders ### 1/5 — Poor App and performance *2026-07-17* ⭐☆☆☆☆ One of the worst government apps I’ve ever used. The app is slow, buggy, and feels outdated. Basic tasks like logging in, viewing policies, or making payments often fail or take forever to load. The user interface is confusing and not user-friendly at all. Frequent errors, poor performance, and a frustrating experience make this app unreliable. For an organization as large as LIC, this level of digital service is disappointing. Please invest in proper testing, improve stability, and redesign the app with the user in mind. Until then, I cannot recommend it. ### 1/5 — One of the Worst Payment Experiences *2026-07-13* I had a very disappointing experience with the LIC Digital app. It is one of the worst financial apps I’ve used. The payment process is far from seamless—it frequently fails, gets stuck, or throws errors, making it frustrating to pay premiums on time. For an organization as large and trusted as LIC, customers expect a reliable and user-friendly digital experience. Unfortunately, the app feels slow, unstable, and poorly optimized. Instead of making payments easier, it creates unnecessary stress. LIC should urgently improve the app’s performance, fix payment issues, and thoroughly test updates before releasing them. Until then, I cannot recommend this app. ### 1/5 — Pathetic User Experience Unusable for a Fortune 500 Company! *2026-07-08* For a massive company like LIC, it is honestly embarrassing that they cannot build a basic, free-flowing mobile app in this day and age. You would expect a financial giant to have a secure and seamless digital platform, but this app feels like it was built a decade ago and completely abandoned. Here are the biggest issues I face constantly: Horrible Login & Biometric Errors: The biometric login (fingerprint/Face ID) almost never works. It constantly throws random errors, forcing me to manually type in my password or request an OTP every single time. Extremely Slow Performance: The app crawls at a snail's pace. Every single page takes forever to load, and it frequently freezes midway through checking policy details. Terrible UI/UX: The interface is laggy, clunky, and anything but smooth. Navigating between menus is a test of patience. It is incredibly frustrating to handle something as important as life insurance on an app this unreliable. Please hire competent developers and completely overhaul this app. Until then, it's completely useless ### 1/5 — Conflicting app *2025-12-09* Stupid app that does not let me use, unless I uninstall AnyDesk (which is a harmful/ conflicting app according to LIC). I know it’s a screen sharing app so for security purpose you can just warn us instead of forcing to uninstall it. What one day competitors like HDFC or TATA considers LIC as conflicting as ask to uninstall ?!? A good developer should give the user choice. A warning is enough to tell the customer of the conflicting app, forcing to uninstall is totally baseless. I use AnyDesk for my business purposes. Now I am def not going uninstall that. So I uninstalled LIC Digital instead. Really sad that the consumer is bound and does not have choice even in this modern age. ### 1/5 — Please make a good app like other private finance/banking apps. *2025-12-08* Dear lic, we are facing very much difficult in paying lic premiums and getting to know the due dates, due amount and etc. This app is worst of its kind. OTP wont work. App wont open. Login cant be done on time. Everything is old waste junk. Sorry to say this. LIC is a big company you should not have app like this… everyone is upgrading. Even non-banking companies very low customers bank/finance companies have a good functioning app. With new model fully functional app new customers will come, people will be encouraged to pay online. Payments will be done quickly since everyone has a busy life. You should make everyone’s life even more easy with your app. If you need any input contact me but please make excellent app with exceptional features which are not even available in any other. Please it’s a request. Sorry if you offended with my review but it is my view for my lic. ### 2/5 — Not fast and so much lag *2025-10-30* I am trying to update my password, I am not receiving Otp immediately it comes after 15min and by the time it expires it us not one time I faced this issue so many days.
