Chess.com is only good if you want a fancy platform and if you want their lessons. However, this app is kinda rough. In particular, I want to be able to choose puzzle categories. So I resigned one game early because i didn’t want to play, and was penalized and held back from playing. I guess they won’t be pairing with me again, but there are other 50,000 players what is the deal. The computer levels are completely unbalanced. In most chess apps, he's 50/50 when just under middle level (5 for this app) yet at level 2 he's playing against an ai that's thinking 10+ moves ahead. I've also watched the computer castle through check several times, especially when moving through a space attacked by a knight. And if you’re looking for a game like chess.com without all the pay too win, this is perfect for you. It’s just like it without all the money having to be spent, but I have one thing I would love if the creators could add, an analysis. Now don’t get me wrong it’s a great game overall, definitely tied with chess.com, but this would set it apart. So developers, if you see this, please add an analysis part for the end of every game. And one thing that I would love but you don’t have to though, if you do care could you also add a mode where you don’t have time, and you can get a suggestion. And possible add something that could explain every move, I mean like how it says brilliant, great, best, good, ok, questionable (don’t know what it’s called,) miss, mistake, blunder, stuff like that. I think everyone deserves to see why and how they blundered for free. I will probably donate, I like using and supporting free and open source projects. Lot of reviews saying it's laggy sometimes but it's been fine for me so far. Let's see if that holds out, I'll check back in and update here if I end up switching back. ### 5/5 — Amazing app- just one suggestion *2025-08-26* Lichess offers a fantastic experience with everything you could want — puzzles, unlimited games, tournaments, and powerful analysis tools. It’s completely free and ad-free, which makes playing and improving truly enjoyable. If I could suggest one thing, it would be to provide a little more flexibility around rating changes when players disconnect due to internet issues. It’s frustrating to lose points for something beyond your control. Other than that, Lichess is one of the best chess apps available today.
