## What is LidarAC?

LidarAC – RX is the handheld control and monitoring interface for the LidarAC system, built to extend Tilta Nucleus M and N setups for modern focus workflows.

The idea is simple: bring tools normally found on high-end hand units to the Nano by using an iPhone.

The system consists of two Modes.
RX acts as the handheld interface and connects to the Nucleus Nano II via Bluetooth.
TX runs on a second iPhone mounted on the camera (iPhone 12 Pro or newer) and provides LiDAR-based distance data.

RX already enhances the Nucleus on its own with custom lens profiles, focus scaling, and marker tools. The full potential unlocks when paired with TX, adding real-time distance data directly into the focus workflow.

Instead of relying on raw motor values, the system translates focus into usable distance context. Depth of field is calculated and visualized in real time, helping focus pullers make faster and more confident decisions, especially in dynamic scenes.

Lens profiles allow precise mapping between LiDAR data and lens behavior, including aperture-based depth of field. Camera profiles handle CoC and sensor offset, ensuring accurate results in real-world setups.

The focus scale is fully interactive and can switch between a flat mode and a focus wheel inspired mode. Values can either be mapped visually like on the lens for intuitive pulling, or displayed linearly to better understand spatial relationships within the scene.
Marker and tracking tools make it easy to set, follow, and recall focus points. Features like spot measurement, 2D and 3D tracking, and a top-down LiDAR view provide clear spatial awareness on set. Haptic feedback increases as you approach a marker, giving intuitive confirmation without looking away.

Key features:
	•	Real-time LiDAR distance data for people, faces, and eyes
	•	Spot distance measurement
	•	2D and 3D tracking points
	•	Top-down LiDAR scene view
	•	Custom lens profiles with depth of field visualization
	•	Multiple focus scale modes (linear, lens matched, logarithmic)
	•	Marker-based focus assistance with haptic feedback

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.7 — 2026-08-06

-Fixed a bug where RX devices didn't always show up properly

### 1.0.6 — 2026-08-04

What’s New in Version 1.0.6
-Improved connection, discovery, disconnect, and reconnection reliability.
-Fixed an issue where the video stream sometimes failed to start or remained on “Waiting for video.”
-Improved video and LiDAR streaming stability with fewer interruptions and frame drops.
-Improved LiDAR calibration, projection behavior, landscape mode, and resizable iPad/Mac layouts.
-Updated the in-app tutorial and reorganized the Advanced Menu.
-Additional performance improvements and bug fixes.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-07-06

Changelog

Improvements

* Added a new LiDAR Point Cloud contrast setting. The brightness of highlighted green points can now be adjusted independently from the rest of the point cloud.
* Added Subject Mode limits of 1, 2, 4, 8, or 16 simultaneous subjects to improve performance.
* re-organized the menu.

Bug Fixes

* Fixed an issue where the offset was not applied in all subject modes.
* Fixed an iPad-specific issue that required multiple taps on profiles before values were accepted.
* Offset is now applied correctly across all subject modes.
* Offset values can now be set to both positive and negative numbers.
* Improved profile value input on iPad. Values are now accepted reliably without requiring multiple taps.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-05-03

Improved TX compatibility detection for LiDAR-capable iPhones

### 1.0.2 — 2026-05-03

This update focuses on stability, connection reliability, and focus logic.

More robust RX/TX connection logic, including reconnect handling
More reliable video stream startup
More stable distance-delta display on symbols/markers
Focus direction logic has been reworked
New lens profile option: define focus direction per profile
Zoom lenses: optional focal-length profiling (can be enabled/disabled)
Additional bug fixes and refinements
