### 5/5 — Great for practice

*2021-10-28*

Happy with this app. Helping me study!

### 5/5 — Great app for practicing

*2021-09-11*

I have been using this app for few weeks and include a lot of useful questions for practicing for the life in the uk exam.

### 5/5 — Cleanest UI of all apps!

*2021-06-18*

Easy to follow.

### 5/5 — Helpful comes with an explanation as well

*2020-10-22*

When I failed my test this week, I thought I’d download a different app because the one I had before was not helpful at all. I went through my App Store and I found this app, so far so good. Most questions I have completed on this app came up in my actual test, obviously I didn’t know the answers at that time so I failed. I’ve booked another test for next month, so fingers crossed I will pass this time

### 5/5 — Help to learn. Not the same questions.

*2020-07-19*

I passed my test after preparing with this app. However, you should not expect the questions in the real tests to be exactly the ones in this app. They are phrased different. If I just memorised the answers of this app instead of memorising the story these tests are trying to test. I don’t think I’d have passed. I’ve seen comments that people have seen 90% of questions from this app. They must have bee. Really lucky.

### 5/5 — Better interface than other apps

*2020-06-01*

The interface seems updated in comparison to some other apps and the questions also seem up to date. It has some useful features such as a “Challenge Bank” which records all the questions that you’ve previously answered incorrectly. I haven’t tried the premium feature yet so not sure how good that is.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2020-05-31*

Very good test if you are a beginner

### 5/5 — Passed the first time and grateful

*2020-03-14*

Thank you for this wonderful app I passed my test in the first attempt. I bought a book but after downloading this app I didn’t even use the book. For a fraction compared to what the official book would cost, this app offers pretty much all information one would need to pass the test. There are a few mistakes here and there but they are not major. I highly recommend this app to whoever needs to take this test!

### 5/5 — I passed. Helpful app!

*2019-12-22*

It’s a very helpful app. Easy to use and practice the same questions with information in different order to remember the answers, I recommend reading the book once (I borrowed it from the library) after practicing the tests. There are a couple of questions in the last tests from the app that don’t match with the answers, but I knew the real question. In the real test I was asked about the year that women voted at the age of 21, the answers were very similar so I got confused; first kings, Elizabeth l, ll.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Awful app

*2022-07-06*

Literally no explanations or color on the explanations. Just lazy. Suggest avoiding.

### 2/5 — Very outdated question bank

*2023-01-07*

I liked the layout and automatic question flagging, as well as the cheat sheet in this app but I wouldn’t recommend it. There is a lot of extremely out of date information in the question bank - not just about the Queen but about the UK’s EU membership and EU citizens. One asked about when the Queen would be in power for longer than Victoira (this happened in 2015 so the questions appear to be at least that old). There’s also really poor grammar across a number of questions and a glitches in the scoring and user interface on my iPhone 14 pro. All that said, the test was a piece of cake and between this app and a much better one. I passed in under 5 mins this morning with only a couple days of cramming with practice tests once I was averaging just 1-2 wrong answers per test. The apps definitely over-prepare you.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review. The question bank has been updated and. is up-to-date as of June 2025. I understand this might not be useful to you, but might be relevant to readers of this review.

If you have a chance, please try out the question-bank and update your review.

### 3/5 — Good Q&A but could improve functionality

*2022-02-14*

The first few tests that were included in the free version were quite hard, showing mostly failures on all the tests, and so encouraging someone to purchase the premium to get more practice done. Once the premium is there, all tests become significantly easier, with loats of true/false questions and increased repetition of the same questions. There was also not an additional function to maybe save questions that someone would want to revise. Overall good app, but stick with the free version because the paid one is not worth it, especially when there is an alternative one that shows all 45 tests for free

### 4/5 — Best one I’ve used so far

*2022-07-24*

Plenty of test, however most of them are under premium.
The great thing about this app is that it gives you an explanation if you answer the question wrong.
The questions on this app are different from the official book so I think it is worth downloading this app and having more practice under your belt before the exam
Even if you don’t want to pay for the app, this is the app where you get more practice test free of charge as other apps only have 1 or 2

### 4/5 — Great app but problems getting premium version

*2021-08-18*

I have been using this app and I think it’s a great tool to study for the Life in the UK exam. The only problem is I can’t get premium as there seems to be an error on the app which says I’m not online and therefore can’t purchase it. I hope this problem gets fixed soon so I can continue with the tests. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

### 4/5 — Great help

*2021-03-16*

This is a very nice APP. It is user friendly and it helps you to identify and to tackle your weak areas.
As someone else mentioned, I was confused too when I passed a test but it showed FAIL in green colour.
I would also like a chart to show the progress I made over the time.
One thing I am very confused about: I suspect the BOOK is a very old version? And it keeps mentioning thing that will happen from 2013. If so, definitely too expensive to buy the Premium.
Otherwise, great APP.

### 4/5 — Good but needs improved

*2021-02-11*

The app is good and the tests are nice to follow. Read the book and guide first and came to dot he tests here.

Most explanations cannot be called explanations as they just repeat the text in the question. It's helpful to see some more context or contrast as part of the explanation. This will def help the learning. For instance if 2 gardens are associated in most contexts or they almost always appear together, this needs to be contrasted in the explanation. If the question is about an event, it helps to have the context around that event, including other events that happened around that time frame.

The whole point of tests is learning. And context and contrast is a good way of having that.

This app can be a killer app if the above is implemented otherwise is not different from others.

### 4/5 — Includes most of the handbook

*2020-09-06*

Great app, would give it 4.5 stars. Particularly useful because it also includes the “life in the UK handbook”. Half a star removed because it’s a slightly older and abridged (less photos) version. The main differences vs the 2020 book: the religion census numbers are outdated, the information about Brexit is missing (3-4 key dates and events), the limit for small claims procedure is incorrectly shown as 5000. Also, weirdly enough, in the latest edition the vikings also came from Sweden, not only Norway and Denmark.

### 4/5 — Really great - saves making flash cards

*2020-08-30*

This app was amazing! Glad I found it early in my studying. It saved me making flash cards for the ones I got wrong by it automatically putting those in the challenge bank to review later. The only thing that stops it from being 5 stars is I wish you could opt to put some into the challenge bank even if you got one correct but happened to guess so might not remember again.

### 4/5 — Easy to use, 10 free tests, +5 for rating

*2020-03-01*

Update: I passed the test and found it fairly easy after practicing the tests on the app.

The app is easy to use, and has a short explanation for each question although the explanation is generally brief (some have more explanation than the others). It records the questions which were answered wrongly. The questions seem a little harder than ones I have seen in other resources, but I reckon it’s better to be prepared. Wish it has a flagging function (perhaps for the paid version) so we can revisit the ones we want to come back to.

A small bug : the app says I failed the test when I scored 85%. The screen showed a big green check sign (meaning a pass) and the statistics was correctly recorded a pass.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — You will definitely PASS

*2026-06-24*

Best application. I found it on a random search on google and installed the app on my phone. Guys you can pass 100%. No one has a bad memory like me 😂 and i passed. I think max a week of practice is enough to pass the test.
I finished my test in just 5min. I can tell you can find all the exam questions in this app.
Thank you.

### 5/5 — Britizen helped me pass the test!

*2025-07-05*

After downloading the Britizen app, everything changed. I was struggling to memorize the information for the Life in the UK Test, but this app made it so much easier. It’s up-to-date, with questions very similar to the real test and clear explanations.

What helped me the most were the topic-based quizzes and the timed mock tests. Every time I got a question wrong, I could review it and understand why. After just a few days of practice, I felt much more confident—and I passed the test on my first try!

I highly recommend Britizen to anyone preparing for the Life in the UK Test. It really works and saves you time.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review and congratulations on your result! 🎉

### 5/5 — Better than official e-learning platform

*2022-11-20*

This app is extremely good for practising the Life in the UK test. I just passed the test after practising using this app for 3 weeks. Worth the money to pay for Premium. It contains 45 mock tests in the Premium version, and a handy review function that stores and allows you to repeat the questions you answered incorrectly. The questions are much harder than in the mock tests contained in the official Life in the UK e-learning platform, for example the app asks you about the year that particular historical events happened, which the actual test doesn’t really. In any case, because the questions in this app are harder but on the exact same content as the official test, if you can memorise the answers to 80% of questions on this app, you can pass the Life in the UK test (remember to also read the book, though).

### 5/5 — Great!!

*2022-10-13*

Very helpful and straightforward to use, highly recommend to pass the LTUK test!

### 5/5 — Mandatory for anyone serious about applying for citizenship

*2022-08-13*

Like a few others it has several tests but the differentiating bit is the explanation for the wrong answers and the option to revisit just the sections in which one is weaker.
The Life in the UK test is poorly designed and rather random in the set of questions bordering on the totally disconnected from the purpose and aim it’s supposed to achieve, but that’s not the app’s fault.

### 5/5 — Fantastic practice material

*2022-07-09*

I took my test today and I passed! I didn’t pay for the official textbook or guidebook but only this app. I downloaded it and paid extra for the full access to all the test questions which I highly recommend any future test candidates do! A big thank you to the editors and developers of this app! What a great find!

### 5/5 — Soso

*2022-06-05*

Very good app for BLT

### 5/5 — Actually one of the better apps

*2022-05-29*

I don't usually leave reviews for apps but since this is an important matter here it is. So I passed and found the questions to be very easy after studying this app. Literally flew past the exam and stood up after 5 minutes. Highly recommended. Although dont just memorise the questions and answers, do try and understand the theory behind them.

### 5/5 — Easy to use and v helpful

*2022-05-01*

Easy to use and v helpful

### 5/5 — Great study guide

*2022-04-10*

All the questions you could need !
