### 2/5 — Very disappointed

*2025-12-28, version 3.1.2*

Promises a great process. Awful interface! Can’t ‘save!’ ANYTHING NEW! Terrible waste of money!!!

### 3/5 — Nice but they changed the free features

*2023-05-14, version 3.1.1*

I’ve been using the app for a few years. I don’t need much from a journaling app so I didn’t subscribe to the premium features. I just write my entries and log my emotions for that day… until they changed the model. Now I have to pay $4.99/month to log my emotions and see them attach a color to my entry. Was it really necessary to make this a paid feature? At this point, I can just use any note taking app on my phone.

### 4/5 — Great app but challenges not working

*2022-11-24, version 3.0.7*

Every time you go to accept a challenge the app crashes and closes. Please fix!

### 4/5 — Una buona app

*2021-12-12*

… da valutare nel tempo. Le premesse sono buone, vediamo se l’abbonamento vale davvero i soldi spesi.

### 3/5 — Challenges component doesn’t offer much

*2021-09-22, version 3.0.4*

This app has 4 components:
Journal: The journal is simple and easy to use. You can customize the font. Entries are easy to add. You can make little drawings within the app and add photos to entries. You can link emotions with journal entries which is very nice.

Emotions: I love the interface of the emotions component. It is easy to use. You can set time frames for emotions. This is useful for monitoring and self reflection.

Compass: This is a daily “lesson” to guide your thinking and provides an 8 minute daily journal prompt. I enjoy this because it gives me a quick way to journal daily.

Challenge: This component is almost nonexistent. There are only 5 challenges. It seems fairly useless. Considering this is 1/4 of the “program” it really kills the value/effectiveness of the process.

You can track your progress in these four areas on the Dashboard.

Overall, I was really excited about Lifecraft until I found out that “challenges” doesn’t offer much of anything. It seems useless. I had signed up for a year subscription but canceled when I discovered the serious limitations of the Challenges component.

Lifecraft pIease develop a more robust “Challenges” category so I can change my review to 5 stars.

### 2/5 — Abandoned?

*2021-07-15, version 2.5.2*

Two stars as a kick in the butt, although it seems to me that this app has been abandoned. No new version in a year (which means no privacy labels) and no blog posts since February 2020. It’s been a difficult year for everyone, of course, but the lack of activity doesn’t promise anything good. It’ll get a real review if/when it comes back.

### 5/5 — I like it a lot

*2021-05-23, version 2.5.2*

I’ve actually chose this over my other journal app now

### 2/5 — Life sun

*2021-05-15, version 2.5.2*

Theyerrrrrr Grrrrrrrreat

### 5/5 — La mejor.

*2021-04-21, version 2.5.2*

### 5/5 — Just What I Needed in the Time of Corona...

*2020-11-29, version 2.5.2*

As you already know, 2020 has been “(fill in your own thought)”. I was feeling pretty burned out and unproductive, so I started looking for coaching. The few people I sought out were completely booked. On a whim, I decided to search for a “coaching app”. Lifecraft was among my top three apps that resulted from the search.

Lifecraft asks thought provoking questions and supports change through journaling. I also like the ability to “track” my emotions throughout the day. I can also write a brief description about that emotion which I can review later. It really helps to see patterns of emotions related to different experiences throughout the day.

Lifecraft could be the remedy to COVID quarantine stress and lethargy. Give it a try!

### 2/5 — Just Okay

*2020-10-12, version 2.5.2*

I want to like this app, and I paid for pro, but it just doesn’t work half the time. The compass feature is nice, I just wish it would work everyday.

### 5/5 — Sync problem

*2020-10-12, version 2.5.2*

Sync problem with pro account. Information on phone and Mac isn’t syncing.

Otherwise I like this app.

### 5/5 — Good app

*2020-09-19, version 2.5.2*

I am using this app in conjunction with another as it currently does not have a feature to record self reflection notes. It helps categorise emotions but would be handy to have the other feature where self reflection notes can be referred back to

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Gorgeous, but broken

*2025-01-15, version 3.1.2*

This is an absolutely beautifully-designed app. I am always ready to support apps that don’t collect data, so I intended to subscribe as it seemed like such a great product. But during my free trial it became clear none of the advertised features actually work. Compass? Crashes when you try to respond. “Prompts” for the journaling challenges? Don’t seem to exist as explained. Cancelling before I get charged for the subscription. What a shame.

### 1/5 — Premium membership, compass not loading.

*2024-11-02, version 3.1.2*

I bought the premium membership FOR THE COMPASS prompts. But they never load. Absolutely lame

### 1/5 — I am not happy

*2024-05-10, version 3.1.2*

I thought this was something different and I want my money back please!

### 1/5 — No Updates

*2024-02-05, version 3.1.2*

I have both the iOS and Mac apps and neither have been updated in 8 months which predates my subscription.

Developers who have switched to the subscription model should be updating their app on a regular basis, fixing bugs, adding features etc.

I cannot recommend this app and have already switched journaling apps to one that seems to be getting updated on a regular basis with a developer that is active on social media and answers question and takes features suggestion.

### 1/5 — Unable to restore after paid

*2023-04-09, version 3.0.7*

Cannot restore purchase after already bought it.

Don’t subscribe for this because you cannot sync other devices.

### 1/5 — Good news and bad news

*2021-04-22, version 2.5.2*

This app is just what I was looking for. I wanted a daily guided journaling application with the ability to create easily-separable folders for different types of journals. Lifecraft doesn’t have this feature exactly, but the tagging and template options are a great alternative. The compass feature’s interactive messaging-style interface is fun and visually appealing. I love being able to track my moods alongside my entires (although I wish I could log more than one emotion at a time).

I was so enamored with the app that I sprung for the pro version. (I also seem to remember a pop-up ad that simply would not allow me to exit and return to the app...) Since then, the compass feature has not worked at all. I haven’t been receiving notifications, and I cannot get Zee to interact with me!

This was my favorite part of the app, as it keeps the journaling process gameified. I’m not sure what the use of extra features would be to me if I can’t use the major one. Is it normal to stop getting compass prompts after subscribing to the pro version. I updated my app, then deleted and redownloaded with no change

### 1/5 — Just a Daily Journal Prompt

*2021-01-28, version 2.5.2*

of this app, everything is locked except a daily journal writing prompt. I expected a lot more. Disappointed.

### 1/5 — Compass Messages

*2019-02-12, version 2.1.0*

Compass messages still aren’t appearing.

### 1/5 — Vers. 2.01 ist einfach nur hässlich

*2019-01-06, version 2.0.1*

Das Design ist, in meinen Augen, grauenhaft geworden. Ich werde mir etwas neues suchen.

### 1/5 — No Export and No Throwbacks Feature

*2018-04-07*

I thought this was a replacement for Day One because it has more reasonable pricing. But, I was wrong. Although I enjoyed the multiple journals (very important for proper arrangement) but as months continue, I got tired of waiting with features I’ve suggested. First, I notice that, unlike other Journaling apps, they’re much complacent with updates and features. Also, I got tired of waiting for the Throwback (or other names that one could invent) feature. Moreover, when I decided to leave the app and change apps, there was no EXPORT function. So I felt imprisoned and they didn’t give any options for way out. What’s worse, I literally needed to copy and paste everything to my new Journaling app. Well I hope they improve all this concerns.

### 5/5 — Powerful tool!

*2022-07-15, version 3.0.7*

I am the kind of person that loves to go after self-knowledge, think about life, my day, and relationships. This app is really amazing for that, I love the Compass that everyday brings you fresh to think about and write.
It makes me discover more about myself and my feelings, I totally recommend!!!! ❤️

### 5/5 — More than expected

*2022-02-11, version 3.0.6*

Love customizable apps to create forms/templates to make an all and one go to app

### 5/5 — Lifecraft

*2021-11-22, version 3.0.5*

I love Lifecraft! It's the best app for me that helps me to journal and have interaction with the app. The challenges and different writing prompts I really enjoy . However, I've completed all the challenges so please update the app as soon as possible . I still use it to journal and I've repeated some of the challenges - but it's definitely a keeper and I recommend it to everyone that wants to monitor ,explore and enliven their emotions and feelings.

### 5/5 — Such an awesome journaling app

*2021-11-04, version 3.0.5*

I really do love this app. It makes journaling a joy.

### 5/5 — Ideal

*2021-09-26*

### 5/5 — Lost entries

*2021-07-30, version 3.0.1*

Regrettably, I’ve have to reduce my rating in light of the new update. I am a Pro subscriber and use the app regularly. In addition to journal entries, I used the Emotions section to save notable quotes without assigning a particular emotion to them. This allowed me to easily find the entries on the calendar because they were all in grey. When they pushed out the recent update, all of my quotes were lost! The entry dates are there but the content is empty. Two and a half years of entries gone. *sigh*

Previous review:
I started using this app a few weeks ago and immediately loved it! I decided to upgrade to Pro so that I could use the emotions and sync between devices. A few days ago, they pushed out an update which works fine on my MacBook Pro but is very buggy on my iPhone 6. Specifically, syncing is not working properly so an entry I just made on my Mac is not showing up on the iPhone. The sync function just seems to get stuck and restarting the app does not help. Also, the new Compass feature is confusing and doesn’t really add anything IMO to what was a nearly perfect app. I hope the developers will fix the syncing issue and not clutter this lovely, simple platform with less than useful features in the future.

### 5/5 — Great Journaling Software

*2021-06-24, version 2.5.2*

There are a lot of great options for journaling software, but one thing that stands out for me is the ability to capture emotional states and thoughts about your emotions.

It’s difficult enough for people to figure out what emotions they are experiencing and the easy way to incorporate how you are feeling when you journal or make a note about your current emotional state, so the way Lifecraft incorporated it into journaling and emotion states made me choose this program over other options.

I’ve also heard back promptly from support when I’ve had questions (in a day or two) which is an added bonus.

They haven’t updated the app in over a year from what I can see, but it’s still a great app and I’m looking forward to the next leap forward!
