There is too much clutter from unused features and clumsy flows for the features that I do care about. When the company gets bigger, hire a UX person to spend a month or two to clean this up and find a dev team who can implement the enhancements. ### 4/5 — Parent *2021-08-26, version 3.28* This app is good for knowing what is going on at the preschool, as we don’t always drop off/pick up with the same schedule each week. The app could definitely be improved to be more interactive and responsive, but it keeps me up to date on the week’s important news and updates. ### 2/5 — 70% Unresponsive / Bad Navigations *2020-11-30, version 3.13* Our daycares have always had some kind of o line app to track, but this is 100% the worst of all of them. The interface is terrible, unresponsive. Most of the time it times out and I have to close and reopen it until I give up and check back another day. ### 2/5 — Pros and cons *2020-06-19, version 3.11* We downloaded as our kids’ preschool uses it to keep parents up to date. We pay $40/child/year to use, and I can honestly say that I don’t know if it’s worth it, as sometimes the app is slow and unresponsive and I have to restart several times before it works. Added to that, if doesn’t play the videos uploaded by the teachers for us. And it never has in the almost 1.5 years that we’ve had it. While we understand that we “have” to pay, it would be nice if regular updates were at least provided. In this day and age, it’s a tad ridiculous to know that at the end of it all, we’ll be paying $400 for the app with important features not working or addressed ### 2/5 — Old looking *2020-06-11, version 3.11* The app feels and looks very outdated...pictures are occasionally stretched. It needs to be updated ### 4/5 — Can’t see times *2019-11-18, version 3.9* Just a heads up - if you updated you iPhone and switched the appearance to “dark” mode then you won’t be able to see the time wheel when entering information or the text shows up in white in a white background so you can’t see what you’re typing either. If you switch it back to “light” mode it works just fine. ### 4/5 — Issues After Update *2019-11-08, version 3.9* It appears there’s now an issue with the dark screen setting on iPhones. In order to see what you’re typing, you have to go into your iPhone settings and change the display to light every time you are writing anything in the app. Please update to fix this issue! ### 2/5 — Issues with Entering Information *2019-11-06, version 3.9* I am having issues with entering information in this app. When I try to enter information for The Morning Intake section, I cannot see the times when trying to enter in bottle time or diaper time. Also when I try to type comments in, I cannot see what is being typed. Not sure why this isn’t working anymore as it was working properly last week. Any suggestions to get this app to function properly would be helpful! ### 2/5 — Basically terrible *2019-11-05, version 3.9* The UI is horribly designed, outdated, frequently unresponsive, and after the latest update is nearly impossible to use in iOS dark mode. Scroll wheels for time input do not display, text displays as white in white text boxes, making it invisible. ### 2/5 — Not very good *2019-10-28, version 3.8* This is a bad UI that is confusing and not responsive. The app doesn’t send notifications. When there is something new in the app (like a message or pic) it is not clear where it is coming from. It is also not being used to its fullest (mediocre) potential but the child care facility likely because it is also a bad interface in the school app. I hope this company improves or my care facility switches to bright wheel. ### 3/5 — Does the job but can be improved *2018-11-16, version 3.7* Pro: I love seeing the check in/ out times, their meals, and lesson plans. My favorite, of course, is the observations (pictures) - getting that push notification always brightens my day. Cons: The push notifications needs to be improved. Is there a way to customize what you can be notified on, within the app? I only get them for observations and check in/out - and not even consistently. I would love it if I could get a push notification for things we need to bring in (e.g. diapers, wipes) or comments left by teachers. I don’t always remember to check the bottom of their daily reports and miss these things. ### 4/5 — Works well *2018-10-17, version 3.6* Has glitches now and then but has worked for me 98% of the time. I enjoy getting little updates when I’m at work (sometimes notifications are a little slow)or photos of things my daughter is engaged in. The daily sheets are very helpful so I know what she ate or didn’t, what she is learning that week in class so I can further that idea at home in fun ways or have something to talk about other than, “how was school? “ ! No major issues on iPhone 7 ### 2/5 — Multiple glitches *2018-10-16, version 3.6* The conversations area of this does not work well. They overlap and you cannot decipher what it says. There is constantly some notification on my child's picture despite checking all areas. It could be way better. ### 2/5 — Poor quality, lots of potential *2018-09-28, version 3.6* Think of the best communication tools you use on your phone. This is not one of them. The app has not been updated for the 4.7” display debuted in the iPhone 6, much less the larger displays released since then. Ultimately, no one downloads this tool because they choose to. Rather, this is what is chosen by our children’s schools. It’s crashing every time . Restarted mobile, installed the app 3 times but absolutely no use. ### 1/5 — UX/UI is atrocious *2023-12-18* Very clunky, glitchy, and notifications only work intermittently. This app crashes on me every time I try to write my child’s teacher a note! EVERY TIME! It crashed at least ten times the first day I used it and updated my user profile. I’d suggest the developers fix the bugs before they give any attention to more features. If I select my only child then messages it asks for which child. I only have one child in the app. It is low budget and I really wish my child’s school used a different all. ### 1/5 — What an abomination! *2021-09-11, version 3.30* This app is garbage. Even the simplest function is overly complicated. You can’t pay tuition within this app either, which requires visiting their awful website. It feels like it was built by an intern developer from the 1990s. Avoid if at all possible!!! ### 1/5 — Unusable *2021-09-01, version 3.30* This app is intended to be the primary communication tool between the daycare and my family. The daycare expects us to reply promptly to communications through the app. However, notifications don't work for iPhone (yes, I have notifications turned on in Settings). The app does not perform it's primary function and may place my family at risk of adverse effects of missed communication. I am reconsidering sending my child to a school that uses this ineffective and possibly dangerous app. ### 1/5 — Very slow and dark mode problems *2019-12-09, version 3.10* I’ll update whenever this gets fixed but this app loads so slowly from view to view. I’ve got an iPhone XS and have 4G cellular and 1Gb speeds at home. Not sure why it takes a while to load from screen to screen. Also, all your form inputs disappear when a user is on dark mode for iOS. Example, if you are picking a time - the hours and minutes values disappear and you can’t see what you’re typing. Plenty of people are now using dark mode regularly on their phone. Let me know if you are contracting a product designer. I would love to redo the UI and UX of the app to make it seamless for both parents and teachers. ### 1/5 — Outdated and crashes *2019-10-31, version 3.8* TERRIBLE app. Not only is the user interface outdated, but it doesn’t even work. Crashes every time it’s opened. Our daycare uses this hunk of junk to track our babies activities during the day. The people complaining about it looking outdated, get over yourself. Does it really matter!? At the end of the day I don't care what an app looks like, I just care that I'm able to get the info I need about my kids daily. Which my daycare does a great job of updating through the app. It's easy to navigate as well. So for the parent's who aren't tech savvy it's a great and simple app. ### 5/5 — Easy to use!! *2021-12-15, version 3.34* I highly recommend the LifeCubby app. It’s helpful for getting reports from school, picture updates, evaluating goals and progress, and communicate with my kids’ teachers.
