I contacted Lifeway customer service and they confirmed Bible studies, etc cannot be downloaded but are internet dependent. This is a major drawback to this app ### 3/5 — No Offline Access *2025-05-31* I love the idea of Lifeway. I don’t love the execution. I wanted to read my purchase on the plane during a five hour flight, and was unable to get access to the ebook without the internet. It’s unfortunate that the app can’t act like kindle for its ebooks. I understand needing access to the internet for the purchased videos, but I don’t for the ebooks. Kindle and Barnes and Noble have offline access that prevents off app downloading to protect authors from online piracy, so we know it can be done. ### 3/5 — 2.1.5 version challenge *2024-08-29* The previous version worked great on my iPad Pro w/keyboard. It supported picture in picture, and I could take notes on my iPad in Pages app while viewing the bible study teaching video in the upper left hand corner. It also opened in either portrait or landscape view. This version opens only in portrait, and can be toggled to landscape. When using a Magic keyboard, this is an extra step, that wasn’t previously needed. PLEASE reconsider the limitation this is for someone with arthritis who finds it easier to type than handwrite notes, because you’ve rendered the viewing of the videos and subsequent note-taking via a keyboard useless. ### 3/5 — Missing link *2024-08-26, version 1.6* Where on the app is the link to “redeem/register” my code for video access? I’ve serched and ??? ### 2/5 — Very inconsistent experience *2024-04-23* It's hard to find the bible studies you've purchased, and once you do, the videos are out of order. Also, when you speed up the videos they glitch... So, I tried downloading, but then it doesn't allow the sped up video. If you try to cast the video using air play, it does not abide by the speed settings. :-( ### 3/5 — Difficult to use with voice over screen reading software for the blind *2023-06-29* Several buttons need alt tags to be added in order to make the app accessible for blind users. if everything was accessible. It would be a great way for blind and visually impaired people to complete Bible studies. ### 3/5 — Still Needs Work *2023-04-24, version 1.3* The idea of the Lifeway on Demand platform is awesome. As a long time customer of Lifeway, I was really excited about the App as an easy way to access my Lifeway digital content. However, the roll out has been less than stellar. My purchases do not show up under the “purchased” tab. While all of my videos were haphazardly available under the “recently watched” tab at first, they have now disappeared. I can still find my purchases by searching for them, but it is self-defeating because they do not remain on any of the tabs after I search for them. Because I have purchased numerous studies, I had hoped to be able to use the app to plan my next study. However, I can always go to the Lifeway.com site and find my digital media, and then watch it from there. I have spoken with Lifeway on Demand customer support and have been assured that upgrades are occurring so hopefully these “issues” will be fixed in the very near future. If they can get these issues fixed I think the app and the idea are awesome and will make accessing my Lifeway digital media much easier. ### 2/5 — Not all components present *2023-04-23* It seems short-sighted not to include Ministry Grid or its resources in this app. The only reason I downloaded was so that I could access Sunday School material quicker. This one continually says ‘no devices found.’👎🏻 ### 1/5 — Gideon Bible Study *2022-06-17, version 1.2* I have purchased a Bible study from LifeWay and was hoping to be able to stream the video from this app but when I try to watch, I get a message that says this app doesn’t support purchases and that I can watch purchased studies using the LifeWay On Demand app. But isn’t this the LifeWay on Demand app??? I’m confused. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Huge Loss Compared to the old CSB Bible App *2026-07-11* Really disappointed- I still have the old CSB app and it is a far better product, even today. The lifeway app opens to the library Screen- not where you left off in the Bible- it takes around 5 seconds and one click to get back to where you were reading. There are very few settings to change viewing and text preferences, no option to download audio, doesn’t work well offline, the search function doesn’t work near as well to quick search Bible passages, it takes multiple steps to highlight the text, the reference notes all have a cross symbol and do not correlate to the numbered references of the text. I have many other complaints but I digress. Bring back the old app! Or please fix this one. Upgrades are supposed to be better not worse. So disappointing :( ### 1/5 — Required Reader *2025-07-26* I downloaded another e-reader and then bought an ebook from Lifeway that stated I could use the reader to read. I can read it online through the website, but unable to read it through the app. The app states that I have no studies. Doesn’t keep record of studies you are doing so each time you open app, you have to search for your study. Doesn’t have predictive text when typing in study name in search bar. ### 1/5 — Unable to cast, using the app *2024-03-12* I am disappointed that I am unable to cast my videos to my TV or Roku devices using the app. When the app searches for devices that I can cast to, it only vines my grandson‘s TV who lives in an upstairs apartment however, I go to the website login to LifeWay, and view the videos from there it allows me to airplay to my Roku devices. If the app is unable to find all the devices, I can cast to on my network then the app is useless to me. ### 1/5 — Cannot cast on *2024-02-22, version 1.6* Poor ### 1/5 — I am very frustrated. *2023-11-09* BThe I am very frustrate I just purchased a Bible study, the wonder of advent, but now I can’t access it. I’m looking for a phone number, and I can’t find a phone number. This page is totally unfriendly to me because I am legally blind and the text that is writing, it’s so dark that what little side I have left is not able to read it because there isn’t any contrast between the background and the text color. So I have no idea how this is coming out, whether there are errors, and so on. The Bible Studies need to stay for however long I want them on my phone. I payed for the material I should be able to watch them at my convenience. Watching the Bible study on the website is worse. Priscilla thoroughly explains what the armor is and how God wants his people to use the armor against the evil one . God wants his followers to understand who they are in Christ. God sent his son to save who ever will accept him. Gods blessings are poured out on us every morning. All we have to do is accept it . God wants his followers to know his word so they can fully understand and embrace all the grand benefits of this lavish inheritance. He wants his followers to stop living below their spiritual station in life. It is easy to navigate through, with good customer service when I need assistance.
