## What is LIFT?

LIFT is a hypertrophy coach that autoregulates your training volume and tells you why it changes — every week, in plain language.

Most apps hand you a fixed program. LIFT watches what you actually log and how each session felt, then adjusts your sets per muscle between the science-backed volume landmarks (MEV → MAV → MRV): more where you're recovering well, steady where you're already working hard, less where you're digging a hole. Sharp joint pain caps volume and flags a swap.

The difference: it's a glass box. Every change ships with the reason behind it, drawn from your own numbers. No mystery "AI," no black box.

• Autoregulated volume per muscle, from your logged sets + quick post-session feedback (soreness, pump, workload, joint pain)
• Double progression on load and reps, per set, from your RIR
• 2–6 day programs that build around your schedule and equipment
• A fast, no-nonsense logging screen and inline rest timer
• Swap any exercise — ranked suggestions, never a locked list
• See exactly where each muscle sits on its volume band, and the receipts that set this week's target
• Optional Apple Health export (write-only). LIFT never reads your Health data
• Private iCloud backup

LIFT Pro unlocks the full experience with a 14-day free trial. Monthly or annual; cancel anytime.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.8 — 2026-09-08

When you tap a weight or a reps number in a workout, a line under it says what I suggest and the set the number came from, like "I suggest 135 lb here, from 135 lb × 10 last time". The set you are on is marked, and the last set of an exercise waits for the reps you actually got before it will log.

When a block ends, Continue builds the next one from the same exercises, starting each lift from your last real week of training rather than the deload. If that block pushed one muscle harder than the rest, I ask right there whether to lead with it again or go balanced, instead of sending you to another screen.

If a block ended with nothing logged, I say so on the door and in the plan, and every weight in the next block starts from your profile.

On a deload week, nothing asks you for feedback, and the summary says the block is closing. Your plan shows the week first and the reasons under it. Ending a block asks in one line. Block names carry one number each.

Ready-made plans now live behind Pick a split, so Build something different is three routes and nothing else.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-09-01

Logging is one tap per set.

Every set in your workout now shows the weight and reps I'm suggesting, worked out from what you actually lifted last week, set by set. Hit the number and tap the check. Change it first if you need to, and what you type stays put, even if you leave mid-workout and come back later.

I explain more of what I decide.

Seven kinds of coaching call were being made and never shown to you. They show now, including the honest ones. When I don't have enough of your history to go on, I say so, and I tell you the numbers are a sensible place to start rather than something I measured.

Your equipment never stops a program getting built.

If your kit can't train a muscle, or can only train it one way, I build the block anyway and tell you what's missing and what would open it up. You can swap any exercise yourself, any time.

Fixes

The keyboard no longer covers the row you're typing into.
Everything stays readable at the largest accessibility text sizes.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-08-26

Every way of building a program now ends on the same screen. You see the whole block before anything starts, and nothing is created until you choose to start it.

What's new:

• Build a program by goal, by split, by repeating a past block, from a blank board, or from one of your saved templates
• Change the setup and let the coach rebuild it, or edit the plan yourself without losing your swaps
• Add your own exercises
• Attach a form video to any exercise
• Pin a note to an exercise so you see it mid-set
• Start next week early when you finish ahead
• Skip a session without it counting against you
• Read back a summary of any finished session
• See what is running, what is queued and what is finished on the block screen
• Assisted machines: progress takes weight off, and the arrows and personal bests now say so
• Set the smallest weight jump for each exercise, and log reps only where weight is not the point

Plus fixes throughout, including numbers that update the moment you change them.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-08-04

Sessions you leave partway are never lost. The app now asks what happened and holds your volume accordingly, and every path that finishes a session collects your feedback so the coach reads recovery alongside the work.

Weekly explanations name the real reason behind every change, including the weeks where a muscle was deliberately held. Effort targets now ease down correctly across blocks of any length, and blocks show accurate dates and states throughout.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-02

Fixes and refinements. Sessions now always resolve in order, so the first session of a block is never skipped. A block now ends only once its work is actually done, so remaining sessions stay available to you. You can skip a session explicitly, and a week you missed entirely still gets its review and tells you why the plan changed. Clearer language on how emphasis affects your volume. Improvements to subscription and account handling.
