## What is LIFT Hypertrophy Workout Coach?

LIFT is a hypertrophy coach that autoregulates your training volume and tells you why it changes. Every week, in plain language.

Most apps hand you a fixed program. LIFT watches what you actually log and how each session felt, then adjusts your sets per muscle between the least that makes it grow and the most you can recover from: more where you're recovering well, steady where you're already working hard, less where you're digging a hole. Sharp joint pain caps volume and flags a swap.

The difference: it's a glass box. Every change ships with the reason behind it, drawn from your own numbers. No mystery "AI," no black box.

• Autoregulated volume per muscle, from your logged sets + quick post-session feedback (soreness, pump, workload, joint pain)
• Double progression on load and reps, from how many reps you had left after your last set
• 2–6 day programs that build around your schedule and equipment
• A fast, no-nonsense logging screen and inline rest timer
• Swap any exercise. Suggestions come in the order the plan builds from, with what your equipment can do first, and nothing is locked
• See exactly where each muscle sits on its volume band, and the receipts that set this week's target
• Optional Apple Health export (write-only). LIFT never reads your Health data
• Private iCloud backup

LIFT Pro unlocks the full experience with a 14-day free trial. Monthly or annual; cancel anytime.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.0 — 2026-10-20

New in your workout
• Tap the info icon on any exercise to see History, Form and Muscles without leaving your workout.
• Form plays the YouTube video you saved for the lift. Muscles shows a body map of what the lift works.

Smarter when you change the weight
• Load one step off the plan and your rep target stays put.
• Go further off and I switch to an effort target: as many reps as you can with this week's reps in reserve.
• If a number looks like a typo, like 2225 for 195, I ask before taking it. You can always keep it.
• Next week only follows an off-plan weight if most sets were at it and your reps stayed in range.

Around your plan
• Tap a workout's muscle line to see what that day trains.
• Exercise detail has the same History, Form and Muscles tabs.
• Exercises you create can list the other muscles they work.
• Choose a male or female body figure in Settings.
• Muscle bars now say when a number is planned sets.

Exercise filing
• Cable Pull-Through now counts toward glutes, and Lateral Lunge toward quads.
• Wrist curls, Wrist Roller, Tibialis Raise and hip adduction still log and progress, but no longer count toward a muscle. Finished blocks that used them may show different planned set counts.

Fixes
• The last exercise in your library no longer hides under the New exercise button.
• A lift with no weight reads "12, 11 reps" in History, not "0 lb × 12, 11".
• VoiceOver can close the sheets that open over a workout.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-10-12

Look back at any block
Tap the block name at the top of Coach to open Your blocks. Pick a past block to see its check-ins, progress and volume. Past blocks are read-only, so nothing you open changes your plan.

Progression
• One odd set won't steer your next session. I build from the weight most of your sets were at.
• Back on a lift after more than three weeks? I hold the weight for that session and tell you why.
• Finish a workout with nothing logged and it counts as a skipped day.
• Each set is judged against its own target, so adding or removing a set doesn't change the others.
• Continue a block and Coach shows what carried over from the last one.

Clearer screens
• New icons across the app.
• A deload week shows the sets the deload asks for on every screen.
• Assisted lifts talk about assistance, and you can log 0 lb of it.
• A block that ended early says which week it ended in.
• A workout is dated by the day of its first set.

### 1.1.2 — 2026-09-22

The biggest update since launch. The coach shows its work, and the progression rules got sharper.

COACH: A NEW TAB

Coach replaces Stats and puts every call the coach made in one place.

• Adjustments. Each weekly check-in, the muscles it moved, the number it moved them to, and the sentence it gave you at the time. Holds are in the log too, grouped under one line so the real changes read first.
• Progress. Your biggest moves this block, each one measured against the week you started at.
• Volume. Where every muscle sits on its band. Each arc fills toward the most that muscle can recover from, and the notch marks the least that still works.

None of it is recalculated when you open it. It is the record written the week the decision was made, so the reason you read in week 2 still says the same thing in week 6.

ONE QUESTION AFTER YOUR LAST SET

After the last set of an exercise: "How many left?" One tap. That answer sets the load and the reps you get next time, and the target it is measured against now reads "2 in reserve" instead of "RIR 2".

HOW LOAD AND REPS MOVE

• Double progression is back. The top of the rep range earns the next plate.
• An established lift names a rep target on every row, not only the first.
• Bands and anything else with no plate to add progress by reps.
• Bodyweight at the top of its range mirrors your last session, set for set. It no longer takes a rep back when there is nowhere left to go.
• A weighted pull-up or dip moves by the added load's own increment instead of sitting still.
• A pair of dumbbells counts as two dumbbells, and single-limb work is counted per limb.
• One rule for what a personal record is, on every screen that shows one. A bodyweight record names its reps. An assisted lift ranks by least assistance.

YOUR WEEK

• Finish the last session of a week and the next one opens right there, with its reason. No waiting on the calendar.
• Continue asks two things: what to focus on, then which week to start from. Week 1 repeats the week you picked, set for set.

FEEDBACK AFTER A SESSION

• Soreness is asked when you can feel it, not on the day you caused it.
• Pump is asked per muscle. Workload and joints are asked once for the whole session.

EXERCISE DETAIL

• A line graph of every session, with markers on the ones where the plan changed.

FIXED

• Screens that showed old rows until you relaunched now update when the data does.
• A weekly review interrupted partway can no longer raise your sets twice.
• The evening reminder names the session the app is actually going to offer you.

### 1.0.8 — 2026-09-08

When you tap a weight or a reps number in a workout, a line under it says what I suggest and the set the number came from, like "I suggest 135 lb here, from 135 lb × 10 last time". The set you are on is marked, and the last set of an exercise waits for the reps you actually got before it will log.

When a block ends, Continue builds the next one from the same exercises, starting each lift from your last real week of training rather than the deload. If that block pushed one muscle harder than the rest, I ask right there whether to lead with it again or go balanced, instead of sending you to another screen.

If a block ended with nothing logged, I say so on the door and in the plan, and every weight in the next block starts from your profile.

On a deload week, nothing asks you for feedback, and the summary says the block is closing. Your plan shows the week first and the reasons under it. Ending a block asks in one line. Block names carry one number each.

Ready-made plans now live behind Pick a split, so Build something different is three routes and nothing else.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-09-01

Logging is one tap per set.

Every set in your workout now shows the weight and reps I'm suggesting, worked out from what you actually lifted last week, set by set. Hit the number and tap the check. Change it first if you need to, and what you type stays put, even if you leave mid-workout and come back later.

I explain more of what I decide.

Seven kinds of coaching call were being made and never shown to you. They show now, including the honest ones. When I don't have enough of your history to go on, I say so, and I tell you the numbers are a sensible place to start rather than something I measured.

Your equipment never stops a program getting built.

If your kit can't train a muscle, or can only train it one way, I build the block anyway and tell you what's missing and what would open it up. You can swap any exercise yourself, any time.

Fixes

The keyboard no longer covers the row you're typing into.
Everything stays readable at the largest accessibility text sizes.
