## What is Lift Planner?

Lift Planner is a strength-training app for people who want a training system, not only a notebook. It helps you run structured cycles, log every set, and get targets that adapt to how training actually feels.

Progression that responds to you
Training follows RIR-based periodization through the mesocycle. After sets, you can rate how they felt; the app uses that to tune upcoming weight recommendations. Pain or discomfort can pause progression so you are not pushed blindly. Deload is built into the cycle design. When weights do not line up with your equipment, the system can adjust reps so the stimulus stays coherent.

Built for real gyms
Model your equipment, build from templates, grow a deep exercise library (including custom movements), and review history with analytics. Multiple profiles on one device keep households or clients separate.

Private and portable
Data is stored on your device; you are not required to send workouts to our servers to use the app. Export and backup help you own your training history.

Made for iPhone — and more
Fluid native interface, Apple Watch support for training workflows, and translations to several languages available.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.8.3 — 2026-08-04

What's new

Rest countdown between sets on iPhone and Watch, with light Watch haptics so you can track recovery without watching the screen: one buzz at 30 seconds, two at each full minute, and four when rest ends.
Dumbbell and kettlebell workout set/warmup weights show as lbs (e.g. "45 lbs") when the equipment is lbs-denominated.
"Lift Planner" folder available in the Files app.
Fixes

Watch effort guidance now follows your program’s full cycle length on iPhone, so feedback stays aligned with your plan.
If workout data can’t load, Lift Planner keeps it safe and shows a clear restore message.
Watch no longer stays stuck on a 0:00 rest screen after skipping rest from the iPhone.

### 1.8.2 — 2026-07-25

Hotfix, restoring "View and Edit" functionality in the workout selection screen.
Fixed an issue with data being deleted on version update.

### 1.8.1 — 2026-07-25

- Exercise analytics now shows heaviest lift and best-volume personal bests.
- Tap a personal best card or an exercise history row in analytics to open that workout’s review.
- Fixed List equipment accepts comma-separated weights so you can add multiple values in one go.

### 1.8.0 — 2026-07-18

What's New — 1.8.0

Body Metrics
• Log height, weight, body fat, muscle mass, and key circumferences
• Track progress over time with charts and a clear history of past measurements
• Switch between metric and imperial units
• See body weight next to past sessions in exercise analytics
• View weight, body fat, and muscle mass on workout details in History, matched to the nearest measurement around that training day

Stay on top of how your body changes as you train.

### 1.7.5 — 2026-07-08

Routine-based progression
• The same exercise now progresses independently in each routine. Bench Press in "Push" and "Upper" keep separate weight and rep histories.
• Suggested targets are based on your last performance in that specific routine, with clearer explanations showing which routine they came from.
• If you haven't done an exercise in a routine yet, your general history is used as a starting point.

Simplified workout feedback
• Feedback is now three clear options — Easy, Just Right, and Hard — tied to your weekly RIR target.
• Each option shows a helpful hint, like "Met the RIR target of the week."
• Updated on both iPhone and Apple Watch, with a cleaner, more compact Watch screen.
