### 5/5 — Really good functional app

*2023-12-30, version 3.1.2*

This app is gold, it does all the simple bit really well. Kudos to the dev, for not over charging it.

### 5/5 — No Subscription Model

*2022-11-07*

I don’t know how private the app is, but it doesn’t force you to make an account or pay for a subscription. We need more apps like this. Put your money where your mouth is and support developers that don’t use dark patterns.

### 5/5 — 10/10

*2022-07-16*

An amazing app for tracking for progression and improvement over time. Very well made and easy to use. Highly recommend.

### 5/5 — Simple and effective

*2022-03-25, version 2.2.2*

Great for recording your weights and can easily load the last weights you did for a given exercise, helps you know whether to stick or increase.

### 5/5 — Great minimalistic App!

*2022-03-06, version 2.2.2*

I like the simplicity and how easy it is to set up. Price for the app is more than worth.
Im just missing a dark mode and it would be nice to track cardio length.

### 4/5 — Cool mais

*2022-02-07*

Il faudrais ajouter la possibilité de réduire le timer afin de pouvoir accéder à d’autres menu en même temps

### 4/5 — Fantastic for the price.

*2021-12-25*

Great deal, for a one time payment you get all you need to track your workouts. Nice and simple and gets the job done without any fuss.

Only thing I’d improve is adding dark mode - my retinas would thank you.

### 4/5 — Great app, one bug

*2021-08-07*

Love the app. Works great expect for one bug.

It keeps splitting my workouts into 3+ individual workouts when it writes data into the health app. Unsure if this is a bug or user error. I build out a workout in the iPhone app then run it on the Apple Watch.

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2021-07-29*

I downloaded ten different apps today and they were all annoying and difficult to use.

I downloaded this one finally and it is so easy to use!

One thing I wish though is that I could edit the BPM listed during the workout.

Great app!

### 4/5 — App crashes when adding workout to list

*2021-07-13, version 1.94*

The App crashes when I press the button to add a workout to my list sometimes. Other than that the app works fine and is very helpful to track my workout.

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2021-06-10, version 1.91*

This app deserves more recognition. It’s simple to use. I can’t recommend this app enough.

### 5/5 — Pretty Awesome App for Workouts

*2021-06-08*

Love the app so far! I’ve been using it for about a week now on my phone and Apple Watch. It isn’t perfect, but seeing that the developer is still active in responding to reviews and making the app better is what made me rate it 5 stars instead of 4. If I could add one thing to the app, it would be the ability to add notes to each individual exercise instead of only being able to add notes to the whole workout for a day. I like to be able to know how I was feeling about a certain exercise in previous weeks so I can make decisions about weight progression and injury prevention. Overall, it’s a great app that I look forward to seeing progress in functionality!

Edit: Upon continuing to use, another big thing I think would bring huge functionality to the app is the ability to keep using the app during rest times. The rest timer is great, but it blocks you from being able to use the rest of the app while it’s counting down. That time is when I update the weight, RPE, etc. In addition, the rest counter does not continue counting down if you leave the app. These 2 things limit the functionality of the app when using it in an active workout. I still love the app, but these are 2 things that could bring it to the next level!

### 4/5 — Needs pre-filled weights

*2021-05-30, version 1.85*

I love this app but my main gripe with it is that when importing a template it doesn’t load the last workout weight used, rather it uses the template weight. Additionally an easier way to increment weight like a clickwheel would be nice too.

Secondly for the watch app, when entering a weight each time you need to delete the previous entry. It would be nice to simply automatically delete it so you can immediately input. It’s more of a pain on watch than in app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Poor Volume Calculation

*2025-10-01, version 4.0.1*

When calculating the total volume for an exercise that is done on each side, the app fails to track both sides for the total volume and only does one.

### 1/5 — Watch app stopped working

*2025-07-25*

I used the watch app for years to track my workouts. Recently it stopped being able to synch with the phone so you can’t start any new workouts. I tried to reinstall the app on phone and watch but to no avail. It just won’t synch anymore. I have the paid version and asked if the support and got replies, but no help. Going to delete the app. I regret paying for it.

**Developer response:** Hi,

This is Karan, creator of the Liftr app. I wanted to deeply apologize for the issues you've experienced, and provide you with a full refund (I can provide instructions through our email exchange). In addition, you can export your data so that it is not lost if you wish to no longer use the app.

As I mentioned in our email exchange, I have attempted to resolve the issue and pushed an update (Liftr 3.9.0) to the App Store with the fix. If that does not work for you, please let me know. I am continuing to work diligently to resolve any issues that customers experience.

Please let me know if there is anything else that I can do for you, and thank you for your feedback.

Sincerely,

Karan

### 1/5 — Slowly puts every feature behind premium

*2025-02-20, version 3.7.0*

I used this app for a few years now and was satisfied enough to keep using it. Until yesterday when all my (already created) training templates were put behind a paywall.

### 1/5 — Crashing

*2024-12-08, version 3.5.2*

Unusable after last update. Crashed whenever adding a set to a workout. Uninstalled and reinstalled, continues to crash and there are no exercises anymore

### 1/5 — Request

*2024-06-19*

Could you please add this one feature: I see the charts show a total of how much weight was done over all for the week that’s great. But could you also add charts in the exercise section, like each individual exercise has a chart where is shows weight progression over time. For example, I start off curling 25pounds for 2weeks then go up to 30pounds and the chart shows how I improved, instead of showing the overall weight volume done. Thank you so much 🙏🏼

Update: I originally paid for the app. Now it has app purchases and I can’t use it as I originally did ☹️☹️☹️

**Developer response:** Update:
Hi,

I’ve made all of the Liftr Pro features free (forever) for anyone who bought the app before it became subscription-based, including the original features such as Templates, so you should still be able to access all of the functionality. If you click “restore purchases” on the paywall screen, and then close and re-open the app, it should unlock all functionality for you again!

Please let me know if that doesn't work or if you encounter any other issues, by emailing me at: kpmbstudio@gmail.com

Sincerely,

Karan

### 1/5 — Needs improvement

*2023-09-20, version 3.0.0*

I wish this app would show progressive overload and compare week by week the progress in each lift.

### 1/5 — Anpassung...

*2021-05-24*

...am regionale Gegebenheiten wäre wünschenswert.

### 1/5 — Rip off

*2018-08-10, version 1.8*

I feel super super ripped off after buying this App, it doesnt work at all and i can lt record anything and i dont see how it made the top 100# in Fitness & health category

### 2/5 — Functionality stinks

*2018-08-27, version 1.10*

App looks good and is slick but the functionality is abysmal. Adding info and seeing your previous lifts is so clunky that it’s basically useless. Not sure how anyone can use this.

### 2/5 — Not there yet.

*2018-08-16, version 1.9*

Buggy. Click on one thing and it enters in the next exercise. No way to track one rep at a time. Only all sets. What’s the point.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-05-21, version 4.4.2*

Well made workout app

### 5/5 — La mejor aplicación

*2026-03-24, version 4.3.0*

Solo me gustaría tenerla en español, casi no hablo inglés

### 5/5 — Love this

*2025-11-08*

It’s such a gorgeous app for tracking my lifting. It makes logging all sets and reps super easy and the progress charts are really motivating.

### 5/5 — Must have lifting app

*2025-09-17*

Cuts through the chatter and is simple and easy to use! Way better than most of the paid apps on the App Store

### 5/5 — Took awhile to figure it out

*2025-02-27*

Once ya figure out how to set up your routine your workout program is easy to follow.

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2025-02-19, version 3.7.0*

One of the best workout apps out there. I’ve tried many but this one is my favourite due to the variety of different workouts, the seamless interface, and the solid way it helps its users.

### 5/5 — Succinct UI and Packed with Features

*2024-12-04*

I have been using Liftr for a few years now to track my fitness journey. This is by and afar the easiest App to keep track of my progress, PRs, volume, and history. It recently got a major update adding in more features and compatibility with Apple Watch! And I was surprised to learn this platform is provided and maintained by a single developer! Kudos to you Karan for putting out such a quality product that could easily command a higher valuation!

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2024-09-05*

Had this recommended to me by a Powerlifting, and now I never go to the gym without using it!

### 5/5 — Awesome! One suggestion below

*2024-02-13, version 3.1.2*

Fantastic app that I've been using for a while now. So far the best option for tracking your progress. I have a suggestion: add to the templates the possibility to record not only weight, but also RPE/RIR. Because often a workout plan doesn't involve a clear weight, but rather the ability to lift the max. That would be super cool

### 5/5 — The best workout tracking app

*2024-01-15*

This has been the best workout tracking app I have used. The app update frequency has been pretty good too.

The developer even replied to some of my feedback and concerns.

Would recommend 10/10
