### 2/5 — Good idea, very poor execution.

*2015-09-06, version 2.0*

Why can't I have JUST my scenes in the widget? My scenes already point to which bulbs turn on etc. That should be an option. I personally don't care about about adding individual lights and colors and brightnesses to the widget b/c I don't use it. I only use my scenes. Yet you force that feature to show in the widget making it useless and ugly.

### 2/5 — Crashes.

*2015-04-20, version 1.2*

Crashes every time I try to add the new white only bulbs.

### 2/5 — Was excited, can't use it. :(

*2015-04-19, version 1.2*

Spent the $1 on an app that crashes whenever I try to configure a new bulb. Literally every time. Gave two stars because I like the idea and think it would work great if I could actually use it.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work won't recognize bulbs consistantly

*2015-03-14, version 1.1*

What the other reviewers wrote is my experience as well. The widget won't recognize the lifx bulbs. To make it do so I first have to go the lifx app and interact with the bulb.. Then the widget might pick it up.

This is really a shame and a problem that other lifx apps seem to have as well. I have hue(15 variety of lights/bloom/strip) and just started with lifx (2 bulbs) - lifx can't compete until issues like this are fixed and this app proves it.

### 1/5 — App is not working

*2015-02-15, version 1.1*

App will not find lights. Bummer, guess I'm out a dollar. Don't make the same mistake.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work at all stupid..

*2015-02-14, version 1.1*

Give my money back or i will sue you

### 1/5 — Doesn't work at all.

*2015-02-09, version 1.1*

Doesn't work at all.

### 1/5 — Can't find bulb even though other app does

*2014-12-20, version 1.1*

The app can't see my bulb even though the main app has it set up just find and controls it without issue.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2020-11-30, version 4.0*

Does not work as of 2020

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2018-09-18, version 4.0*

V4.0 feels like a step in exactly the wrong direction. The previous versions allowed control of four lights or groups within a single row of screen space, but now, only one light/group can be controlled per row. I’m all for the “view more“ feature, but not at the expense of a 300% increase in on-screen real estate to control the same four lights as before.

### 1/5 — New version removes everything I loved about this simple widget :(

*2018-04-18, version 4.0*

It used to be simple, now I have to “show more” to get to my lights. It’s no longer quick and simple and takes up too much screen real estate.

**Developer response:** Hi Eddie,

First, I'm sorry to see this update has disappointed you.
I've been working quite some time on it, because because I've received a lot of feedbacks saying the app doesn't really match with the "new" notification center style, this seemed to be the "popular" opinion.

Unfortunately, the "Show more" button is a requirement now for widgets (imposed by Apple), and the widget *must* support the default size (when just a single light is displayed).
You'll probably notice that all of the other widgets have this "Show less" / "Show more" behaviour.

However, if you've clicked on "Show more" once, it should be the default when you open the notification centre again. Could you let me know if this works for you ?

Also, would you be kind enough to contact me by mail (maxime.dechalendar@me.com) so we can discuss it further, and I can understand what's bugging you with this one and improve in the upcoming update ?

Thanks a lot for your time and feedback,
Maxime.

### 1/5 — Bad update

*2016-08-17, version 3.0*

Bad update it make the app very Difficult to use from notification center
Before the update was much easy

### 1/5 — Awful. Makes no sense.

*2016-06-21, version 2.0*

I don't get it. It doesn't do anything. Do not buy.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2015-09-07, version 2.0*

I followed the install steps, but the widget doesn't work. I want my money back!!

### 1/5 — Awful 👎🏼

*2015-08-09, version 2.0*

Worked well for a little while, the update is ridiculous. Very lame to have to spend so much time trying to get this to work 👎🏼👎🏼

### 1/5 — This makes no sense in how to get it to work

*2015-08-07, version 2.0*

Why doesnt it sync with the lifx main app what is the code im copying supposed to go to, and why am i generating it, waste of money, at least for me

### 1/5 — DO NOT BUY THIS APP

*2015-07-14, version 1.2*

Don't waste your money on this, or LifX bulbs in general. It sucked before, worked well for maybe a month at most, and now doesn't work at all. You can see from the description that a fix has been coming "ASAP" since the beginning of April, and it's now the middle of July. The only thing that pisses me off more than this crappy widget is the fact that LifX hasn't implemented such a thing into the official app, but they are obviously incompetent when it comes to app design. The official app JUST got iPhone 6 and 6+ support, nearly 8 months after their release. It's a shame to see cool hardware crippled by abysmal software.

### 1/5 — Utter crud

*2015-04-01, version 1.1*

Can't even program on a Kelvin scale or use it to turn the lights on or off

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Simple app, nice customization

*2016-08-20, version 3.0*

Love the simplicity of setting up the lights. Widget interface seems easy and straightforward.

I wish there was a way to reorganize the color options easily. Other than that, A+ app!

### 5/5 — Fantastic widget!

*2014-11-24, version 1.1*

Very fast and responsive (unlike the official LIFX app, glad it's a programming issue and not the bulbs).

I'd love if we could get access to the white element of the RGBW instead of just RGB. And a brightness slider.

A small bug: the on/off switch doesn't update when a series of lights are chosen. Perhaps just a force ON and OFF button side by side with a brightness slider in between.

### 4/5 — It works fine

*2015-09-15, version 2.0*

Setup was easy enough. And the widget works fast and it's customizable. Exactly what I need. The low reviews almost made me not get this, but again it works fine.

### 4/5 — Awesome! (almost)

*2015-04-21, version 1.2*

It's not perfect by any means, but is the fasted method of turning on and off my lights.

DEVELOPER, if you are reading this, I recommend making this tweak: As of now, you have to include a light level button to a bulb in order for it to show up in Notification Center. It should be that just by adding a bulb, it shows up in the Notification Center with an on and off switch that turns the lights off to 0% and on to 100% brightness. Add this and the app would be far better, allowing a neater Notification Center widget.

### 4/5 — Needs more speed!

*2015-02-28, version 1.1*

This is a great widget. Simple and works quite well. However, to the developer, the length it takes to have the widget find the light is quite long. It takes 45 seconds to a minute for the widget to let me control the bulb. I hope this can be improved. Thanks for the hard work!

### 4/5 — Great feature!

*2014-11-01, version 1.1*

I really love the toggle power button! I just wish I could change the brightness levels on my colors.

### 4/5 — Great app. Hoping for a couple features.

*2014-10-22, version 1.1*

Love the app. Would love two things:

+ Quick switch to turn all lights on or off, rather than one by one

+ More easy to choose defined white colors, e.g. "warm" to "cool", in addition to the colors that are already there.

### 3/5 — Awesome, when it works...

*2015-09-23, version 2.0*

Sometime last week LIFX updated their bulbs automatically. Immediatly after that, the widget quit loading. I deleted it and reinstalled, and now it crashes every time I try and connect it to the bulbs. Too bad, loved it when it worked. Just gonna have to be patient while things work themselves out. Fingers crossed that happens soon.

Update: App updated, works like a charm again. Only took three weeks...

Update 2: Down to 3 stars
Been a week since iOS9 release, no update. It's like these Devs don't care about an actual working product. It's always something with LIFX...

Doesn't work as often as it does, my light switch is 100% reliable, and didn't cost nearly $100. Think I'll look into Hue lights, they seem to work consistently.

### 3/5 — No landscape mode?

*2015-06-03, version 1.2*

You can always tell a cheap iPad app when it only works in portrait mode.

### 3/5 — Need Simpler buttons

*2015-04-29, version 1.2*

I used this as an extension and look forward to its use as an apple watch app. But it's too annoying to have to select a light then toggle it on and off.

Please just make it a button that only changes states from on to off. I know it's not much of a difference but makes using the widget and watch app so much easier
