I have guests and children who turn on the lights all the time and I have no clue the lights are even on. In the evenings I turn this app on and walk throughout my home and turn off all the lights left on by my guests and kids. I just threw my money. It uses the camera not light sensor and checks frames/images that are captured and measure intensity of pixels. So lame. You can point to your window at night while the room is fully illuminated and it gives 0%. This app also generates an annoying sound also. When I first opened it I thought it wouldn't be that useful, but I just didn't realise how many things are indicated by a little light. I've used it to tell if an old cell phone was charging, if the coffee pot was on, if a light was burned out, if the kids had the light on in their room after bedtime, and even if a stick of incense was still burning.
