Although I haven’t used it for this yet, the slide scanning seems cool. I cannot fault the way you control all the facilities, and as an added bonus, the help on this app is very detailed and clear. This is all explained in the app description. For help with using LightPanel, please see the extensive help in the app. If you are having a problem, please use the Contact button in the app or email us at lightpanel@bulsara.com. ### 1/5 — Not worth the money *2021-05-20, version 1.3* Tried using this as an illumination source for camera sensor testing on iPad it just kept shifting modes and putting the grid overlay and varying the grid without anything touching it. Terrible app I would not recommend. Wish I could get my money back. ### 2/5 — Looks like I wasted my money *2023-09-24* I purchased this, hoping I could use it for watercolor tracing. But even at the highest brightness, it’s not bright enough. Also, whenever I lean on it, even slightly, the commands screen pops up, totally throwing me off from my tracing. Tried it multiple times. Unless someone can tell me how to stop that screen from constantly popping up, I won’t be using this and I’m out $2.49. **Developer response:** Just press the Padlock icon to lock the screen from any touches. This is explained on the Help screen. You can also use the Contact feature to ask for assistance if you’re having problems. Please try this and I hope you reconsider your review? Maximum brightness depends on the model of iPad or IPhone - more recent models tend to be a lot brighter. ### 4/5 — What I needed - and more! *2024-05-14* I have lousy vision and need all the help I can get to peek at negatives. The ability to light just the image area, with precise preset rectangles, makes a huge difference! And being able to block touch input while I'm sliding the strip across the screen solves my tremor problem. It also doubles as a color matching light box for Taylor pool reagent results with the 6500K temperature. I’m completely happy with my purchase! One note, if you use it to scan film, you need to (at least on my iPhone 8) have the film off the glass. Otherwise, with a good macro lens (like the one I have!) it will pick up the pixels and lines on the screen behind your film. ### 5/5 — Excellent for viewing slides and negs.
