## What is Light Protect Solution?

This app was developed for Eye Care Professionals to be used in conjunction with the ophthalmic lens consultation process with consumers and patients. The app makes it possible to easily visualize differences in ophthalmic lens transmission properties of UV and blue light or HEV (High Energy Visible) light transmission. In combination with a dedicated demo device, the app will facilitate the lens performance presentation and, in addition, enhance the shopping experience. The app also contains a short summary of the relevant light bands necessary for human vision and briefly summarizes the inherent eye health risks from excessive exposure to some bands of light or radiation.
The Light Protect Solution App will be continuously advanced and refined in close alignment with ZEISS experts and also independent Eye Care Professionals.

Please note: The app has to be connected to a dedicated ZEISS Light Protect Solution demonstrator. This hardware set can be ordered from your ZEISS Vision Care representative or you can place an inquiry via email here: www.zeiss.com/customerservice

Visualize how much UV is transmitted through an ophthalmic lens when placed in-between the source and sensor of the ZEISS Light Protect Solution Demonstrator. See the different levels of transmission and compare up to 3 results in parallel.
#Blue light / HEV transmission
Visualize how much blue light / HEV light is transmitted through an ophthalmic lens when placed in-between the source and sensor of the ZEISS Light Protect Solution Demonstrator. See the different levels of transmission and compare up to 3 results in parallel.

When in Light Transmission Mode the Help function opens an interactive help menu explaining the various features and functions.

Interpretation of visualizations and results:
The transmission or cut-off visualization is a relative comparison of transmission of UV or blue/HEV light from the source to sensor in an unobstructed setup (i.e. no optical element in the light path) with a set-up when holding an optical element (i.e. ophthalmic lens in the light path).

Intended use and limitations:
This app in combination with the ZEISS Light Protect Solution Demonstrator must not and cannot be used under any circumstances  to make any quantitative or qualitative performance assessment of ophthalmic lenses. Neither is it a measurement device which delivers technically validated measurements or data for any further scientific utilization, nor is it a medical device for supporting the Eye /Vision Care Professionals during a medical consultation process.

“Please enter the password” what password? Oh, that the password. Stupid.

**Developer response:** Sorry that you're experiencing problems with our app. This app only works with the ZEISS Light Protect Solution demonstrator. You can find the password in the enclosed manual.
