## What is Lightlapse?

Lightlapse is the first app that allows you to capture day to night Time-Lapses on your DSLR or Mirrorless camera. You no longer need a $400 piece of hardware to capture the “Holy Grail” of time-lapses. All you need is your phone, camera, and a great composition.

Lightlapse supports most Canon, Sony, and Nikon cameras that are Wifi enabled and connecting is extremely simple.
Once connected, all you have to do is expose your shot and set how long you want to run for. After you time-lapse has started you can sit back and watch a preview of it as it progresses and even share it after it’s complete.

Best of all, when you upgrade Lightlapse to remove the restrictions you gain access to our editing plugins for Lightroom and Photoshop to process your images before posting.

## Key features

- Day to night time-lapse capture
- DSLR/mirrorless camera control
- Wi-Fi enabled camera connection

### 1/5 — Needs Significant Updates for 2021

*2021-07-09, version 1.2.0*

The idea behind this app has had me really excited. So when I decided to buy a B-Cam for time-lapses, I picked up the new Sony A7C. Unfortunately Rhino has been taking people’s money without updating the app to work with modern hardware.

Requesting a refund as a highly disappointed customer. Edelkrone is looking like a great choice for my next slider.

If I could give zero stars I would.

### 2/5 — Does not work with Nikon Z7 ii

*2021-05-03, version 1.2.0*

Info on this app needs to be more specific. Does not work properly with Nikon Z7ii. The free trial it appears it works but then went ahead and purchased full version and it doesn’t work properly. Will adjust iso automatically as light decreases but does not lower shutter speed.

### 1/5 — Lightroom app?

*2020-04-21*

The developer has provided a serial number for an accompanying Lightroom plugin “RTL”, or “Rhino Time Lapse”. The developer website provides no additional information about how to obtain the plugin, or where to download it from their website. Super frustrating, as it was a feature that influenced my in-app purchase.

### 4/5 — Needs serious upgrades, but the concept and app works!!

*2019-07-18, version 1.1.0*

If you’re willing to sacrifice using your phone for a couple of hours and/or able to purchase a few external chargers for additional pwr sources and your camera is compatible...the app itself works GREAT!! It will let you set your parameters and will adjust the shutter and ISO when needed. I was VERY skeptical, but purchased anyways and it has exceeded my expectations already. For the price it’s worth the shot, but IMHO, it’s easier than qdslrdashbord.

### 4/5 — Work great with my lumix gx85

*2019-05-08, version 1.1.0*

Screen app not compatible with iPhone SE. some set up numbers hide cause screen size. have to pay one more time if want to have on my iPad. Over all is amazing!

### 2/5 — Almost there...

*2019-05-06, version 1.1.0*

I setup the app with the RŌV Pro for a nightlapse. It started fine and I walked away from it for the 2 hours it needed for the lapse. I should have checked on it more often... the app showed the dreaded “Uh Oh” message and the Rov didn’t move at all. I got a time lapse but no movement. I really dislike having to leave my phone on and near the device to use it. First impressions are not satisfying at this point. I will continue to test and update my review.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work with Nikon Z

*2019-05-03, version 1.1.0*

Doesn’t work with the Nikon Z camera.

### 2/5 — 2 stars for the idea

*2019-04-23, version 1.1.0*

First off,
The idea that an app can control full settings for a day to night or night to day time lapse, brilliant. Execution, not so much.

The fact that the app AND phone have to be open and on the entire time the time-lapse is going is horrible. If I plan on doing a 3 hour timelapse my phone not only needs to be right next to the rhino and camera but display has to be on the entire time? My suggestion would be to have an option to turn off the live preview this might allow the phone to fall asleep and not disrupt the time-lapse.

Also, it has controls for ISO, shutter and interval but anytime I change these it defaults back to where the app thinks it should be. I switch on “classic” mode and adjust interval to be say 4 seconds with a shutter speed of 1-2 seconds and the app rolls back to like 40 seconds. If I am trying to capture certain movements I don’t want 40 seconds in between each shot. This happens with most of the controls. Every time I slide something where I want it the app just rolls the adjustments back somewhere else. This has been the most frustrating part about this app.

The RŌV motion app is amazing! I’ve been using that but trying to make live adjustments while the rhino is sliding is impossible this is where I was hoping this app would fit in but sadly it’s not.

I hope with future updates these will be fixed otherwise I’ll look for other apps to control the camera.

### 1/5 — Does not work at all with my Fuji xt3. And no customer services

*2019-04-22, version 1.1.0*

First of all, as a part of a Rhino RŌV PRO purchase, Lightlapse is supposed to be included as in “BUY ROV, GET $175 IN APPS FREE” deal. However I was charged with $26.97 when trying to connect to my camera and no licenses for the other 2 apps (Rhino Time-lapse and Rhino Time-Blender)
Secondly, the app does work at all. Not able to pass the WIFI connection step.
Thirdly, when tried to call the listed support number (253) 236-3238. It has been disconnected . I tried to contact Rhino support online, I was left after the Rhinobot got my email and name.
They do have a sense of humor at their customers’ expense.
Don’t waste your money.
