Will be deleting app **Developer response:** That was a very short adventure. For the record: the camera is free, Pro is only for unlimited gallery saves. ### 1/5 — slimiest in-app purchase tactics *2026-05-23* be my authorization strategy for this amp is set you up get ready to take a great picture of a lightning bolt and then if you want to save the photo to you advice or share it or show it to anyone you have to sign up for a five dollar a week plan. If you try to take a screenshot the picture on your phone, it grays it out. I will be paying for one week to rescue my handsome photos then I will be deleting the app and never install installing again so I suppose because they are going to get my money but it seems like a horrible way to make a living **Developer response:** Thanks for the review. It’s a little confusing to receive a 1-star rating from someone who also says they captured “handsome photos” with the app. Before entering capture mode, the app clearly displays a confirmation explaining that users can take unlimited photos for free, while saving/exporting requires a Pro subscription. Users must explicitly agree before continuing. So while the pricing model may not be your preference, the review itself seems to confirm that the app did exactly what it was designed to do: help you capture great lightning photos. ### 1/5 — . *2025-07-15* Для того, что бы сохранить фотку надо заплатить, можно добавить хотя бы 10 бесплатных снимков **Developer response:** Здравствуйте. Нам жаль, что вы поставили одну звезду, ведь никакого злого умысла здесь нет. ThunderCatch — это результат многих лет работы и разработки. Getting great shots then having to pay 12.99 for “the pro features”???? Monthly??? Cmon guys. Make it cheaper and you’ll have a better profit margin. I guarantee it. Or don’t allow pics to be taken until it is paid for. Kinda grimy sale strategy. **Developer response:** Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Just to clarify: ThunderCatch Pro is yearly, not monthly — it works out to less than $1 a month. ⚡️ Based on feedback like yours, we also added a popup reminder before capturing, so users know in advance that saving photos to the device requires a Pro subscription. We’ve poured a lot of time and effort into creating this unique app, and asking for a fair price to support its continued development shouldn’t really be a reason for a 2-star review. We truly hope you’ll reconsider, and that you continue enjoying the amazing lightning shots ThunderCatch makes possible. ### 2/5 — Can’t save images *2025-01-04* I get it, dev’s need to make money. After catching quite an awesome lightning storm, sifting through photos and finding the keepers, you’ll hit the paywall. No ability to save any images without paying. Maybe even a watermark for the non-paid version? Take a screenshot and they’ve cleverly disabled the image. So the image will be blacked out. There’s no warning. In the settings it says your subscription is free! And has an unlocked padlock image. Of course I didn’t read into that until after I washed my time. As such I’m not paying for this. Call the images from this storm a loss and do it the old fashioned way. More effort, more frustration and skill required but more free. **Developer response:** Congrats on catching that awesome lightning shot—looks like the app did its job perfectly! 😄 But after all that effort, don’t you think we’ve earned a cup of coffee? ☕️ Just kidding! Thanks for your feedback, and we’ll keep working to make those storm-chasing moments even more enjoyable! ### 3/5 — This could be my fault but… *2026-07-24* This app is fantastic at capturing lightning, but only if there’s enough daylight left. Once the sun goes down all of the pictures turn out blurry. I haven’t played with settings so this could be my fault, I don’t know. I think, tho, that the app should automatically adjust to lighting so you don’t have to worry about it. ### 3/5 — Bug *2025-04-15* Ça marche mais pas trop j’avais le haut qui avait de superbes détails et l’autre partie du bas où il y avait juste la lumière blanche **Developer response:** Merci pour votre retour ! 🙏 La différence entre le haut et le bas de certaines photos est probablement due au rolling shutter de votre appareil. C’est normal avec des lumières rapides et très brillantes comme les éclairs.
