## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Never Finds Devices

*2022-05-10, version 2.1*

Even with the latest version, the app cannot find Hue Bridge/Hue products or Google Home.

### 1/5 — Unresponsive after diaco

*2021-02-26, version 2.0*

Once the light changes on the light bulbs it wont connect again unless I delete the app and redownload it. Like come on i payed for the app to work not work sometimes.

### 1/5 — Very Buggy

*2020-12-27, version 2.0*

I have some issues with this app.
1. Screen sharing constantly disconnects saying the broadcast attempted to start an invalid broadcast session.
2. When it works there is a 3-5 second delay from the time a color appears on the screen till it appears on the lights.
3. Issue 2. Is for a single light, add more lights and there are delays between the lights.
4. I can’t find documentation anywhere.
5. Developer’s websites only have marketing materials and little support.

Cool concept if it works but this app feels like a beta at best.

### 1/5 — Not working

*2020-12-11, version 2.0*

Guess I just waste two dollars on installing something that doesn’t work.
Did resync restart change the song all that, but still not working. It keeps showing me the message fetching the beat timings for the song fail.
Can I get my money back?! 😅😂

**Developer response:** Hey! It seems like there were some server-side issues that should now be resolved, could you see if it works now?

### 1/5 — No Direction

*2020-11-15, version 2.0*

There isn’t any instruction on how to use the app. The cover art for the last song you see is shown but there aren’t any music controls. Starting a song from outside the app and going back to it produces an error saying it can’t figure out the beat matching. Save your money

**Developer response:** Hey! Sorry for the long response time. It seems like there were some server-side issues that should now be resolved, could you see if it works now?

### 1/5 — Access to mic

*2020-04-20, version 1.6.4*

Not really sure why the app always needs access to the mic and will display that it’s in use whenever the app is active and running. Also if the app closes, the lights stop syncing with the music, so the app has to be open at all times when playing music.

**Developer response:** Hey, Apple only allows apps to stay in background for a very short time but when an app uses the microphone, Apple dismisses this limit and lets the app run forever. The microphone data is only used locally to sync the beat analysis and not sent to any server and not used for anything else.

### 1/5 — FAIL, NOPE!

*2019-06-30, version 1.5.4*

If I have to physically type the IP address to “locate the bridge” to get working lights, then I consider that shady as heck. Boy BYE.

**Developer response:** Hi, usually, the ip address of the bridge can be detected automatically but sometimes this fails so we need you to type in the ip manually. We need the ip address to be able to connect to the bridge. This is normal and other Hue apps do the same if they cannot detect it automatically. We‘re currently having some issues detecting the ip so please be kind enough to type it in manually and give the app another chance. To discuss this further, please write a Twitter DM to @lightsyncapp

### 1/5 — Won’t connect to lights

*2019-03-16, version 1.5.1*

I tried both my WiFi frequencies and reset everything and it still won’t connect to my lights.

**Developer response:** Hi, thanks for your review.
We're sorry to hear that it doesn't work for you.

Edit: A new update fixing this issue was just released, please update to version 1.5.2 and let us know if it works.

If you have more issues, questions or updates, please send a Twitter DM to @lightsyncapp or a mail to support@lightsync.me

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work with Spotify

*2019-02-03, version 1.3*

App doesn’t work. Open the app, get a page to link to Apple Music or Spotify. I click Spotify, it opens that app, the end. Nothing happens.

**Developer response:** Hi, sorry that it doesn't work for you. Please reboot your device and try logging out of Spotify and logging in again. Then please try again. If it still doesn't work, please send a mail to support@lightsync.me with more information about your device.

### 2/5 — Needs improvements

*2021-03-21, version 2.0*

I like your app a lot and I’m hoping to see some great updates in the near future. I’ve tried many different 3rd part light app and yours is the only one that can run my new Nanoleaf light bulbs. I’m using your beta HomeKit setting and it need a lot of work. It’s a good start and it does what I’m looking for. Just wish that this app could run in the background of my phone instead of having to be in the app and music syncing problems. Like I said I’m liking what I’m seeing. But for now this app will have to be at 2 stars for now. I’m hoping to give this a more than 2 stars and change my review. I really want give your app 5 stars if these huge / minor problems can be fixed.

## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app

*2019-03-08, version 1.4*

By far the least laggy light sync app that I’ve found. Only grip is that there isn’t a way to make multiple light follow the same pattern rather than being independent form each other.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review, we really appreciate it. Light grouping is something we're looking forward to and we will add this feature soon. If you have other questions, issues oder ideas, just send a Twitter DM to @lightsyncapp.

### 5/5 — Best light show app

*2019-02-02, version 1.3*

Should charge for the app. It’s the best available.

**Developer response:** Hi, thanks for your nice feedback. It's awesome that you like the app and we will continue trying to make it even better.

### 4/5 — Doesn’t work!

*2019-10-31, version 1.5.4*

I’ve even reached out to support and they can’t figure out why it doesn’t work. Needs better support.

### 4/5 — Updated review

*2019-03-17, version 1.5.1*

It connected to my Apple Music and to my Hue Bridge, but the music only plays out of the ear piece of my phone and the lights don’t do anything.

UPDATE: I ended up getting it to work, although I did encounter a bug. The lights will randomly dim and stop syncing to the music. I’ve found that either skipping the song or changing the volume down then back up will resolve it temporarily.

**Developer response:** Hi, thanks for your review.
We're happy that you got it to work.

We will try to fix the bug that you have found as soon as we can.

If you have more ideas, issues or questions, please send a Twitter DM to @lightsyncapp or a mail to support@lightsync.me

Old response: Please go to the AirPlay menu and select "Speaker" when using the app. Please try another song and if it still doesn't work, please restart the app and reselect the lights.

### 3/5 — Can this work for Kiko?

*2020-08-09, version 2.0*

Hi, I just got Kiko LED lights and the app I’m using doesn’t use Spotify. Is there anyway you could make this app work for Kiko LED lights? Thanks.

### 3/5 — Lights Not Syncing

*2019-10-19, version 1.5.4*

Hi I got my lights connected and Apple Music but when I play the music nothing happens

**Developer response:** Hi, thanks for telling us about this issue. Please send a screenshot of the app when playing music to support@lightsync.me or @lightsyncapp on Twitter so we can get the issue fixed.

Marcel

### 3/5 — How this work

*2019-03-06, version 1.3.3*

It keep searching for light forever

**Developer response:** Hi, the app should automatically discover your Philips Hue lights after 10-20 seconds. Please make sure that you are connected to the same Wifi as your Philips Hue bridge and that devices in your network can communicate with each other. Then please restart (or reinstall) the app and if the issue persists, please send a mail to support@lightsync.me or a Twitter DM to @lightsyncapp

### 2/5 — App is very unresponsive.

*2020-04-11, version 1.6.4*

Only two of my four light in the scene of the lights sync “properly” to the screen. I put it into quotations because whenever you enter the app in this state the app become very unresponsive and normally unresponsive, but it is a beta feature. Sync to music, sometimes work and other times it does not. Unfortunately I can not recommend this app.

### 2/5 — Needs to work with HomePod and external Bluetooth devices

*2020-01-02, version 1.6.3*

I cannot get this to work with my HomePod, or else it would be great
