When a color is chosen for an item, it simply layers your chosen color over the color that is already there. I didn't have any hopes for it since these kinds of apps tend to have very little options in terms of face shape and colors for hair, eyes, or skin. It would be nice to have more available options for hair styles, but it's a free app so I understand.
