## What is Limb from Limb?

Flickin' love killing zombies? Good. Flick them, pick them, grab them, stick them. Smash them, bash them, thrash them. Oh, and you can drop pianos on them.

Limb from Limb is a ragdoll zombie survival comedy. You defend the house with your bare hands and whatever the yard has lying around. Grab a shambler by the arm, swing it into the dirt, hurl it into the horde, or let gravity do the ugly work. Every zombie is built from real physical joints, so every impact, pile-up and missing limb changes the fight.

GRAB, THROW, IMPROVISE
Nothing here runs on rails. Pick the dead up, aim them, and let momentum finish the argument. Bodies collide, stack, trip each other and come apart. The physics decide, so no two nights of zombie defense play out the same way.

THREE CAMPAIGNS, NINETY NIGHTS
Hold the line at the farmhouse, the prison yard and the fairgrounds, thirty nights apiece. Every night raises the count and adds new trouble: armored brutes too heavy to grab, dynamite carriers that solve their own problem, and the occasional boss that will not go down politely.

NORMAL, THEN HARD
Finish a campaign on Normal and Hard opens up for it. Bigger crowds, tougher undead, and a great deal more armor. The same ninety nights, a very different survival run.

AN ARSENAL THAT ESCALATES
Earn stars and spend them at the Zombie Depot. Thirty-two weapons, each with five upgrade tiers, from practical firearms to anvils, pianos, wrecking balls, meteor showers, rolling boulders, fireworks, anti-gravity, and other solutions that should not work nearly as well as they do.

ENDLESS MODE
No campaign and no ending. The zombie horde just keeps coming, wave after wave, and the leaderboard remembers how far you got.

SANDBOX MODE
A physics playground with no objectives and no timer. Spawn whatever you like, break it however you want, then record a clip or grab a still and share the wreckage.

RAGDOLL PHYSICS, NOT ANIMATIONS
Every zombie is a jointed ragdoll, not a canned death animation. Limbs tear off, bodies fold over fences, and one well-thrown corpse takes down three more. It is a destruction sandbox wearing a zombie defense game's clothes.

PLAYS OFFLINE
The whole campaign runs with no signal at all. No account, no login, no wifi. Open it and start smashing zombies.

Limb from Limb is free to play with optional in-app purchases. Stars can be earned by playing or bought outright, ads can be removed permanently, and the entire arsenal can be unlocked at once. No account is required and the campaign runs offline.

### 5/5 — Edit: New review

*2026-08-23*

I’m writing a second review because everything I had an issue with has been fixed, which I am very grateful for! I can actually play the game now and make progress now that the giant zombies have been nerfed! And the stars being banked regardless of win or lose is a game changer. The app is now a fantastic way to relive the classic experience, and I want to say thank you to the developer for listening to the feedback and pumping out the updates as fast as they can. This game is awesome!

**Developer response:** Your feedback is greatly appreciate, thank you! Your concerns help shape the future of the game, and I'm happy to take into consideration all issues brought forth by players.

Campaign 1 has been adjusted for difficulty, including greatly reducing the health of the heavy zombies as well as reducing their numbers per wave to make it much more manageable, and instead replacing them with smaller zombies to keep the pace of the later rounds. Additionally, the zombies in campaign 1 have had their health reduced to be more in line with the learning curve involved in the game (no more heavy zombies getting knocked down and getting back up 4-5 times). There are no longer a handful of un-grabbable zombies remaining without an answer for them. We've also implemented star accumulation on levels that were lost as well so that players can purchase upgrades with the stars earned, even if they're stuck on a level.

As far as your other concerns, we've added level won and level lost musical sound effects, the ability to skip the slo-mo kill cam event, and various other improvements including the ability to modify sandbox gameplay, added attack sound effects to the zombies, and various other improvements/bug fixes.

Again, your feedback is greatly appreciated, and it will help future players enjoy the game much more!

### 4/5 — ZS

I remember the OG zombie smash came out in 2010! I was in 8th grade and it was the most fun game ever. I was so sad that it was taken off and I would check every once in a blue moon. Never giving up hope. Earlier this week I go onto the App Store and see the same zombie type style as the icon and I jumped up immediately out of my seat. It’s just as good as I remember, a few little glitches, some zombies are really strong for some missions, but overall just so fun to get back to it.
Thank you!

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback!

The difficulty of normal mode is the main concern right now and the item unlocks and difficulties are being adjusted so people can enjoy the full campaign without the frustration of getting stuck on levels and having to rely on item RNG.

Many more gameplay improvements to come as well!

### 1/5 — Ai slop

*2026-08-18*

It’s one of those games where it gets stupidly hard just so you spend money. Enemies are way more tankyer and the power up pick ups have weird spawn times. The house health meter drains constantly when your house is getting attacked rather than drains with each zombie hitting the house. It’s as if the zombies are sucking the life out of the house rather than hitting it. A disgrace to the classic. Full of AI slop. Just a cash grab taking advantage of peoples nostalgia.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback. The issues mentioned are bugs from the initial release and are not meant to require players to spend money. A hot fix was released yesterday to greatly reduce the tanky zombies in earlier levels from around 10 down to 1-2 to make it much more manageable whiling a player is still learning the game. The next version, which should be released in a few days will show the health meter only take damage when a zombie actually swings to hit it instead of having a constant drain for all zombies near it giving it much better visual feedback. At no point from the beginning to end of the game are users expected to pay money to progress or to unlock game modes, items, upgrades, or other perks - The issues mentioned were just bugs from the first public release. The game is meant to be more of a fan tribute and not a cash grab, which is also the reason why the game is free with no ads. Really sorry for the issues, and I'm working quickly to resolve them as they come up!

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.13 — 2026-08-26

More to fight with, more to fight: item drops are up across the campaign, and level difficulty has been rebalanced on both Normal and Hard.

Endless mode plays better, with fairer waves throughout.

New gameplay sound: voiced story radio calls in Campaigns 2 and 3, plus a blaring alarm when the house is nearly down.

Performance: batched zombie rendering keeps the biggest hordes smooth.

Also: smoother zombie walks and runs, meteor and boulder weapon fixes, and vivid moonlit night skies.

### 1.0.12 — 2026-08-22

Campaign 1 nights 10 through 30 have been rebuilt. Grab-proof heavies are capped per wave and only build up past night 20, the all-helmet waves are gone, and the chimney only turns up in the nights that teach it.

Zombies now hit the house with real swings instead of a shuffle: a two-armed slam, a raking claw scratch, and the brute's haymaker. Every blow lands with its own sound, and house damage is dealt per hit that connects, not per second. Winning a night, losing one, and finishing a campaign each get their own music stinger.

Sandbox got a proper toolkit: record clips and stills straight from the game and share them, an auto-spawner that keeps the waves coming, a full settings board, and double-tap to keep slow-time, strong grab, the chimney, or the attic guns running.

Stars are now worth 1, 2, and 3 for bronze, silver, and gold, and a lost night still banks what you collected.

### 1.0.11 — 2026-08-19

Campaign 1's early nights let up. The big grab-proof brutes used to arrive nine at a time on the night they show up — now it's one or two, and their numbers only build after night 20. The crowds are as big as ever; far more of them are bodies you can actually get your hands on.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-17

The last boss goes out properly: the kill lands in slow motion, the horde comes apart, and fireworks arc off the chimney to close the campaign.

Supply crates now parachute the night's featured gear onto the field, and a relief drop answers a house in trouble. Frozen zombies shatter into ice, and the shop kicks on with a burst of static.

Hold the status plaque to pause. The wooden dialogs press in and confirm, shop prices climb steeper, and the campaign item roll plays fair.

### 1.0.0 — 2026-08-17

No release notes.
