### 2/5 — it is okay but outdated

*2025-08-03*

I think this all is a great idea however there are so many issues with it…. I finished my shift however i had worked overtime - simple just add the hours to my timesheet, when it popped up after my shift there was no details on changing the hours, it just asked me to rate my experience and that was it! I turned to the FAQ’s for help and it told me to click “my shifts” and then select your time sheet to view and edit, there was no “my shifts” button and nowhere to view my timesheets, meaning I had just worked 3 hours overtime for nothing! All the FAQ’s response are dated from 5 years + as it says, they could really do with updating it to actually work with the current app. Even my employer was confused why he or me couldn’t edit the hours I worked! I have contacted the chat line but finishing my shift at 17:30 on a Sunday meant no one was there to help.
It’s a shame really because it could be such a good app + system if they actually put the time and effort into it.

### 3/5 — No Real Cancellation Policy

*2025-01-04*

This agency system would be nice if it had a stronger cancellation policy on hirers. Shifts have been canceled three times in the space of a weekend.

Hirers should be charged for the full shift, just like they would be if you were an actual employee. Instead, you only get paid back for 2 hours of the canceled shift. If you apply but the shift is canceled before they take you, you don’t get paid anything.

One can’t even get a response from Chris the Limber guy on LinkedIn about the fact that after ten 3 star shifts you should be able to apply in the app as a paid Limber ambassador, but there’s always a systematic issue when you do. I don’t know anyone for whom it has worked.

The idea is great. You’ll always get paid the full amount after tax, and I’ve earned a lot through it - I even recommend local businesses to use it for hiring - but for people who rely on it, it isn’t as reliable as it seems.

**Developer response:** Hi there - we agree with your comments about hirer late cancellations. Hopefully Labour's new reforms will give us the cover we need to increase pay for late cancelled shifts. Currently, you only get paid 2 hours of the shift if the shift is cancelled within 6 hours, which we appreciate isn't great for workers and we'd like this to be fairer. Re our brand ambassador programme, we have that on pause at the moment and you shouldn't be able to apply to it. If you can in the app, can you let us know where so we can remove it? Thanks for your review and apologies for any frustration caused.

### 3/5 — Issues

*2024-12-15, version 4.1.269*

App issues where buttons aren’t showing any text!

### 2/5 — Dark mode please

*2024-11-16, version 4.1.269*

Hey Limber, when Dark Mode? my eyes are bleeding from all that bright light...

### 1/5 — Frustrating

*2024-11-12*

This app is very frustrating. I have over 15 years experience in all kinds of restaurants. Im declined by 90% of the applications I go for despite applying as soon as jobs appear and even k.p shifts! This is because it’s done on a star rating I believe. There is no way I can can even get my foot in the door to start getting stars with this system. Also no area to upload a c.v which I think is ridiculous. It just seems to me like another corporation attempting to monopolise on the industry and it’s us the workers that feel the brunt of it yet again. I also have turned up to shifts after a 2 hour commute to be told to go home as they double booked which no compensation from the company or employer.

**Developer response:** We're sorry to hear about this. We appreciate getting your first shift is frustrating, which is why we offer all new limber workers without a rating to hirers for free - to try and incentivise them to take a chance.

On hirer cancellations, we know these are frustrating too. You do get paid 2 hours for any late cancelled shifts and if you weren't, please get in touch so we can pay you those funds. This compensation should hopefully increase when Labour's new employment reforms come out.

### 2/5 — I hate limber

*2024-10-16*

Seriously, this app is atrocious. I live in a city with half a millin people, have the range set to 10 miles and still barely see more than 3 possible shifts a day, two of which are with the same hirers who always mess you around or just dont ever use the limber option, so youre just left to be removed from the shift whenever you set the date at which you need to know if youre accepted (say an hour before). Currently sat in the dark because i applied to a shift at 6:30 am and set my time till expiration to max, and still somehow had my application expire, meaning no one was hired. It takes weeks to get your first shift and its ok if you are able to get hired, but otherwise its useless. The "set your own rate" thing is all well and good until you realize theres so much demand that if you ever set your rate above the minimum, even if the shift is insanely last minute, youre basically guaranteed to not be hired. Also, the app locks you out of many shifts for no reason. I recently accepted a shift only to get there and be told "oh we double booked" and was paid only two hours of the pay for a 11 hour shift?? If its the hirers fault entirely that you arent getting any work because they messed up why dont you get atleast half the pay?? And after that all the shifts for that day that i had also applied to were autoremoved once i was accepted, and i could not re apply even after having my shift cancelled, meaning i couldnt get any work that day. Finally, ignore the "paid weekly" lies. If you work a shift, youll get paid for it in about 2 and a half weeks , if youre lucky, sometimes 20+ days afterwards. You can do this money borrowing thing (to borrow money you have already worked for and owed) up to 50% in advance, for a fee. I wont say exactly what i hope whoever made this app this way does but safe to say it involves baths and toasters :)

**Developer response:** Baths an toasters?! Blimey, that's a big much!

We're sure you were probably joking, but you raise some valid concerns.

The last cancellations piece is a frustration and we hope new labour legislation will help us improve the app here.

Getting hired to your first shift is difficult. We make it free for hirers to hire first time workers to try and incentivise them, but it's competitive on the app and we know this is an issue - the problem is solving it.

Pay weekly is true and once you're up and running, you do get paid week.y. We have to delay pay for that long as it takes a while for the system to collect funds. Wagestream is obviously a benefit there but it does have a fee.

As for lack of shifts available - we're working hard to improve that. In many cites, there are thousands of shifts a week, but in some, there are fewer.

Thanks for taking the time to review the app, even if it's not quite the review we aspire to get!

### 1/5 — Not great

*2024-07-03, version 4.1.267*

You developers don’t care much! Receiving a link which doesn’t last even second as message received expired and I didn’t even opened it. No way to contact you even receive response from you. What else to say Great.

### 4/5 — Great but needs more info

*2024-06-22, version 4.1.267*

Hi,

Great app! I love the flexibility it gives us to work whenever we want.

However, I think it would be very helpful if we could view our pay history within the app. This feature would allow us to easily track our earnings and due payments alongside our work history. By having a clear record of payment dates, amounts, and the corresponding work completed, it would make managing our finances much more convenient and transparent.

This addition would greatly enhance the overall user experience.

### 1/5 — Silly

*2024-06-04, version 4.1.261*

It’s a bit silly how hard it is to get your first job? Surely there should be some process to getting your first rating to help you get your first job.

### 1/5 — Waste of time for workers

*2024-05-25, version 4.1.260*

There are too many workers for the little number of jobs on the app. I have years of proven experience in the service industry, great references, and over 2 months of applying, I was not accepted onto a single job on this app.

Within 3 days on a competitor app I have two shifts lined up!

### 1/5 — Unfortunate

*2024-05-08*

This is a great idea for an app and great way to get good money. It is reliable and pays on time. However, I was accepted for a shift too close to the starting time, unfortunately meaning I missed the shift as I wasn’t available to work the shift. I was unfortunately suspended for something outside of my control. I messaged the Limber team and unfortunately didn’t help either, showing little sympathy for my reasons for not being available. I would say use the app, but be careful.

### 1/5 — Don’t bother

*2024-04-08, version 4.1.255*

Your experience never gets approved, not all businesses seem to exist in their experience section & the helpline workers are absolutely useless

### 1/5 — Can no longer log in to my account

*2024-03-06, version 4.1.252*

I would have given this app 5 stars I’ve been working through them for a while and everything was great much easier than traditional agencies
But now I can’t log onto my account I’ve got work booked for this weekend but can’t get the details as the app won’t let me in
Zero response from customer support on there chat
Broken link for the app support here
No other way to gain access to my account
And to make matters worse I’ve got wages trapped in the system still waiting to be paid
I guess the biggest problem with an app agency like this is there is no support and no help when things go wrong

### 1/5 — Worst Service ever

*2024-02-29*

I downloaded limber as I was a student and thought being able to working flexibly with no commitments other to the shift you apply for would be great. I applied for a few shifts (which when going on the app you learn to realise that there isn’t a lot of options, sure there are a few everyday but, that’s typically if you set your miles quite far to willing to travel etc. Your application also expires after 1/2 days which is ridiculous because then you have to keep re-applying.
Furthermore, I ended up managing to be able to get a shift, but unfortunately a little before I was supposed to leave we was told that there is a CO leak and we should evacuate the building, ring 999, etc. I tried cancelling my first shift but I didn’t know I had to confirm it and was clearly and rightfully in a rush. I managed to cancel the second shift (which was with the original people from the day before and I went ahead and messaged them explaining the situation and why I wasn’t able to come in the day before, which the employers are very bad too as when I tried to message them about questions regarding work I was ignored). Unfortunately had to have a few more tests and was in hospital all night, and past the time in the morning when I was supposed to be going in.
They blocked my account so I can’t apply for shifts because of the no shows. I email Limber to be met with one of the most incompetent services I’ve ever seen. I explained and sent proof, like I was told to, to receive back only, “sorry no shows block your account come back in a month” everytime I emailed they’d answer half of the email, sometimes not even reading it and just guessing an answer. Most importantly I wanted to know if my account will be unblocked in a month since I need to know what I need to do, I then get told that 2 no shows cause permanent block. Do these people know that people have other issues and problem??? To block and account permanently for something like that while they’re absolutely incompetent I mean?
I have actually never in my life seen such a poor app, and customer service etc.

### 4/5 — Excellent app

*2024-02-06, version 4.1.242*

As a 19 year old this app is perfect - the rates are excellent and because other companies actually use the app if you use Limber alongside a part time job it’s a great combo. I’d give it the 5 star if the verification was quicker but that’s only cause I’m impatient. It’s worth the wait!

### 1/5 — unfortunate

*2023-11-19*

hate to give this a one star review because i think the actual idea is great, however there are some app-breaking problems that aren’t being addressed by the dev team.

this has already been brought up it would seem by two people earlier this year and i’m unsure if this is a common bug or i’m in the unfortunate minority but i’m unable to complete my profile. the reason for this is really bizarre - i can’t select a profile picture or take one. every time i press either button nothing happens. i’ve tried restarting the app, reinstalling, restarting my phone etc. and nothing works. this is really app-breaking and i hope it gets fixed because clearly it hasn’t been since the previous review i saw.

the other issue is with the interface - when you go to set up your work experience the “save” button moves off screen once you type something in the text box, and you can’t scroll down (it just scrolls back up). i managed to get past this but this was by scrolling down and pressing save with my other finger which is not much of a solution. furthermore i was unable to change the dates on my work experience past the first one which is extremely unhelpful- I also don’t really understand why you’re not given the option to upload a CV but that’s much less of a problem than these actual technical issues.

TL:DR i can’t use the app because the ui is broken, idea is great but unfortunately weighed down by being very buggy

### 1/5 — waiting long to be paid

*2023-09-09, version 4.1.215*

Having to wait a week and a bit to get paid is a bit
Arduous. Where is the humanity ?!?! I’m starving I haven’t eaten in days

### 1/5 — Rubbish!

*2023-06-19, version 4.1.214*

Can’t change the dates on anything on my profile, can’t upload photo to finish making profile.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Zero professionalism

*2026-05-11*

Years ago, this used to be a really good app, and there was never any problem getting shifts. After completing many shifts with a perfect rating, they banned me for cancelling just two shifts that I couldn’t attend for personal reasons. Even after several years, I still haven’t been able to get my account restored.

What a lack of professionalism — absolutely no understanding from the support team. I cancelled two shifts with a full day’s notice, and they blocked my account immediately, despite all the shifts I had completed without any issues or complaints.

### 1/5 — don’t bother if you’re a man

*2026-02-06, version 4.1.272*

nice app. perverts only hire girls on here though. bonus if you’re 18

my gf gets offers all the time and i don’t even with 10x more work experience

### 1/5 — False age advertisement

*2025-10-14, version 4.1.272*

said 17+ filled out all of my details made an account and then they said 18+??

### 1/5 — Reviews speak for themselves

*2025-10-09*

This app could’ve been very successful but not every business makes . I have over 4 years experience in all kinds of restaurants. Im “not selected for this shift” by 100% of the applications I go for despite applying as soon as shifts are available and let alone kitchen porter shifts. I’ve been told by other employers and clients of lumber that it's done on a star rating I believe. Where is the logic to “not hire” someone who is qualified for the position with experience due to them not having this positive stars with this system. Multiple reviews on this app comment and express the “zero c.v approach” being backwards for agency especially in this industry which I also think is ridiculous. I agree on the statement written in a a gf ed review stating

“It just seems to me like another corporation attempting to monopolise on the industry and it's us the workers that feel the brunt of it yet again.”

Optimistically, I’ll give this app one last try despite doubting any success with applying to shifts I’m more than qualified for…Unfortunately, the approach on the rating system, outdated menu & profile build doesn’t seem sustainable long term.

### 1/5 — Time wasting

*2025-09-05, version 4.1.272*

Made me complete the entire profile until telling me you have to be 18 years or older. Could’ve just said this at the start to save wasting time.

### 1/5 — Pathetic service

*2025-08-20, version 4.1.272*

I am associated with this app from last 3 months and i have applied several times for the job but never got selected, such a waste of time. I would suggest find something useful then this, do not rely on this app.

### 1/5 — Bank details and NI

*2025-06-18, version 4.1.272*

I’m trying to register on the app but before they can unlock my profile for me to accept shifts, they are requesting for my bank details and National insurance number. Why is that?

### 1/5 — Absolutely useless app, don’t waste your time.No job even if you have 18 years of experience.

*2025-06-09, version 4.1.271*

Btw you have rusian dialect and Belarus language and no Ukrainian.
Looks like we see what the owner position.

### 1/5 — Avoid like the plague

*2025-01-02, version 4.1.269*

Do not use it, they will defend the venue and blame you for don’t get paid correctly. Called the support and they try to justify wage theft… after I’ve show one of the prints I’ve saved for evidence they got quiet.

### 1/5 — Don’t download this app. Auto Rejection

*2024-12-05, version 4.1.269*

It used to be good and fair in 2021. Now it’s been a while and auto rejection keeps happening!!! No shifts whatsoever.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Good app for Jobless people

*2024-12-23, version 4.1.269*

Thanks limber

### 5/5 — 9/10

*2023-05-25*

Key is in its simplicity. Almost gave 4 stars because the sign-up process is a bit too long and tedious but once verified it’s worth it!

Can imagine this blowing up once it gets the right exposure. At the moment it’s just Bristol and surrounding area that has a lot of traffic.

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2022-07-31, version 4.1.46*

This app has perfectly allowed me to work in my own time whilst studying for uni. It's so convenient!!

### 5/5 — Great for students

*2022-06-16, version 4.1.44*

Easy to use and get to grips with, however can take a while to receive the payments from shifts.

### 5/5 — Re

*2021-12-19, version 4.1.6*

Done one limber shift and then the venue I worked up offer me a full time job on the spot no interview Nothink I still use this app for when I take holiday from my work

### 5/5 — Best decision ever to download limber!!

*2021-07-29*

I just love this app, so much versatility, freedom and opportunity to meet lots of people, gain experience whilst earning money on the side! Wages are soo good and consistently available on the the app, it is very reliable and easy to use. I am also a student so excited to use limber during term time as it will be the perfect way to pick up jobs and earn money when I have the time. Couldn’t recommend more!

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2021-07-22*

Must be one of my favourite apps. After years of working on the contract or on behalf of agencies, it feels great to finally have some freedom in picking shifts and setting your own wage. Wish the all existed when I was a student, would definitely make my life turn out a little but different 😇

### 5/5 — A wonderful, caring community!

*2021-07-22*

I am so grateful for the flexible, wide range of shifts and businesses that I have discovered through limber. As a student, using this app has made working so enjoyable to be able to meet new people and try new things. The team are attentive to any worries or problems that arise and have been very supportive throughout the pandemic. Really recommend!

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2021-07-21, version 4.0.83*

Limber is great, it has introduced a new and amazing flexible way of working. Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Great App for flexible work would highly recommend

*2021-07-21*

Great platform to find jobs, the hirers are always friendly and make sure they you feel at home whilst working in their venue. As a student in Bristol limber has been a great platform for me to take up flexible shifts during hours that fit in with my studies. The ease of use of the app and the fact that shifts come up so frequently and means that I can work to earn enough money without worrying about being locked into a regular job rota that may have an impact on my studies.
