## What is Limbo?

Every group trip starts with great ideas. Limbo helps the crew turn them into decisions.

Limbo is the ballot box for group trips: anyone proposes a plan, the crew votes, ballots stay sealed until the deadline, and the result is revealed without the loudest person steering the room. Every core trip feature is available without Limbo Pro.

START WITH THE AI TRIP PLANNER
Describe the trip before or after signing in. Limbo asks for missing details, helps you compare areas and stays, and drafts a mapped day-by-day itinerary. Start up to 10 new planner drafts per UTC day (per account, or per connection before sign-in), for itineraries up to 30 days. Standard and Pro accounts have the same allowance.

WORKS WHEN THE SIGNAL DOES NOT
Create and edit plans, vote and check off tasks offline. Limbo saves eligible changes on your device and syncs them when you reconnect, with retry controls if something still needs attention.

OPTIONAL ANNUAL LIMBO PRO
Limbo Pro is an optional auto-renewing annual subscription that removes Limbo-controlled display ads. It does not unlock core trip features, give your crew extra permissions or increase the AI planner allowance. The annual price appears before purchase. Manage or cancel through your store subscription settings.

SPONSORED CONTENT, GUIDES AND PARTNERS
Sponsored placements are controlled by Limbo and can be switched off globally or for an individual screen. When a placement is enabled, eligible signed-in accounts without Pro may see one compact card clearly labelled Sponsored on that screen. Sponsored cards never change trip plans, votes, chat, Preflight tasks, expenses or map results. Annual Pro removes them.

The Travel Guides entry appears only when Limbo has creator itineraries ready; otherwise it stays hidden. Available guides can be browsed, reported or copied into a private editable trip.

Optional booking links are clearly labelled Partner. Before opening one, Limbo shows which destination, dates or selected public place will be shared. Limbo may earn a commission if you book, but commissions do not change organic recommendations.

### 2.4.02 — 2026-08-21

Balances and settling up got a thorough overhaul.

Fixed: crew members other than the organizer saw the wrong name on their own balance row, and were told they were all square while they still owed money. Everyone now sees the same figures for the same trip.

Fixed: several ways a split could come out wrong, including custom splits that did not add to 100, and equal splits that quietly rounded against the trip organizer.

Fixed: foreign currency. Settled totals no longer add up different currencies as if they were the same, amounts without an exchange rate are shown in their own currency instead of the trip's, and the Expenses and Balances tabs now agree.

Added: expenses can be added offline, the same as recording a settlement. They sync when you are back online.

Added: someone who leaves a trip keeps their share of what they were there for, stops being billed for anything added afterwards, and is shown as having left so the crew knows why they cannot settle with them. Rejoining picks their balance back up.

Removing someone from the crew now asks first, and says so when they have paid for things.

### 2.4.01 — 2026-08-19

Limbo 2.4 makes every core trip feature available without a Trip Pass.

• Create, confirm, archive and reopen trips; invite crew, propose, vote, chat, manage Preflight and Pitch In, and track expenses without Pro.
• Optional annual Limbo Pro removes sponsored cards. It does not unlock trip access.
• Maps and places: plans now pin to real map locations, with faster and more accurate address search.
• Trip attachments: keep photos and documents with the trip, with automatic image compression, clear file limits and a storage meter.
• Add the Limbo Decisions widget on iPhone.
• Optional partner links disclose commission and show what trip details will be shared before they open.
• Booking emails you forward now land on the correct day of your itinerary, with the right times and terminals.
• Expense balances settle to the exact cent, so the total you are owed matches the rows behind it.
• The incoming-plans tray opens reliably after signing back in.
• Improved account deletion reliability and other fixes.

Pitch In now replaces shared checklists in the Trip Hub. Cost splitting and Paid by controls now work consistently across flights, transport and cruises. Plans show complete start and end times, while places added through Need inspiration? keep their Google photos, ratings, addresses and map locations. Incoming email plans now have a cleaner review layout. We’ve also improved Trip Hub readability, voting controls and approved results across light and dark themes.
