### 3/5 — Good simple app

*2025-05-11, version 7.8.1*

The app is really simple, yet awesome. The idea is brilliant.

But the subscription is WAY too expensive.

### 4/5 — So good, but still has bugs

*2024-11-30, version 7.7.0*

Used this intermittently over the past year. It’s the best app of its kind, by far. The blocking with the ability to unlock with intent is just the right amount of friction.

Unfortunately it continues to have bugs. The latest is that a frequent notification asking what I’m doing, even if they’re set to 15 minutes and I’ve been using my phone for 30 seconds. Worst is that they seem delayed, so my ignored phone will light up with Taskfulness asking what I’m doing.

I really really want to keep using it but it often ends up being a balance of whether the benefit outweighs the annoyances + cost.

Also: what’s with the age ranges at sign up? Gives the impression that the creator views anyone over 40 as old :)

### 5/5 — Help me become more mindful

*2024-06-29, version 7.4.0*

The way this app works makes me more mindful about what I’m gonna do on my phone, and do it more purposefully. Hence, it helps me reduce my screen time as a whole.

### 5/5 — Improves focus

*2024-05-10, version 7.3.0*

The application helps me stay focused for the time spent on my phone. It greatly reduced my screen time and help me with setting clear priorities when I need to do something. With setting up the right goals the application itself motivates you towards achieving your goals, which has a role of a “mentor” to some extent.

I strongly recommend for everyone who wants to spend quality time on their phones.

### 3/5 — Feedback

*2024-04-18, version 7.3.0*

[UPDATE]: the app appears to have been updated in-place entirely to be a new subscription only app now (previously purchased features were effectively no longer usable, as it had effectively became a new app). The dev is responsive and offered a code for trying the new app for a limited time, though I realized since there effective isn’t any base features that can be used anymore without subs and I ran into a few finicky bugs that I couldn’t solve, i think it wouldn’t suit my needs now. However, thank you for the help from before!

(Review for old app “actuflow”):
Hello! I really enjoy using this app. I didn’t find a feedback form for this app so hope you don’t mind but, I thought being able to reorder the intention/tag rows by sliding them around would be amazing - currently I would have to recreate the intention and tags if I needed to reorder them, and sometimes when I deleted a row, it would randomly reorder all the rows. Thank you!

### 5/5 — It feels like a friend

*2024-04-09, version 7.3.0*

Feels like a buddy rather than a product on my phone. I like it! Saves me 7 hours a week solid.

### 5/5 — Nice!

*2024-03-25, version 7.2.3*

First I tried only Emergency Minutes. It was ok.
But when I started to type the tasks before using social media that's where I GOT IT. That exact day my screen time went 36% down!

### 5/5 — Taskfulness makes me more mindful

*2024-03-20, version 7.2.3*

Thank you for developing this app. Whenever I open Instagram and spend a minute there, I question whether the stories, people, or posts are truly worth my time, attention, and energy. Taskfulness has helped me gain insight into where I often waste my focus.

To me, Taskfulness feels like standing in front of a forbidden door, knowing I have the key hidden in the cellar on the top shelf. However, just the thought of going to the cellar already dampens my enthusiasm for opening the door!

### 5/5 — Thank youfor creating this app

*2024-02-11, version 7.2.1*

I do have addiction to social media. I spent so much unconscious time there...
I hate your app and love it simultaneously 🫶😻🤣. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Better then expected

*2024-02-09, version 7.2.1*

When I started to use Tastefulness, I didn’t expect to have real problems with an awareness of social media usage.
I used to have 8 hours of screen time, and now I have 2-3 max.

Huge benefits that I got:
Whenever I see notifications from Instagram - I don’t run to reply to them immediately.
Awareness of my desire to doom-scroll and get a cheap dopamine.
I also learned how to work with my lack of energy (now I have more); I want to do different things, and my approach to social media has changed drastically!
I highly recommend using social media or other things for work or personal use only. Try it out and check which effect it has on you.

I also should mention that in the beginning, I spent some time to understand how everything is functioning, but it didn’t change my overall experience.

### 5/5 — Baron

*2024-01-27, version 7.2.0*

Taskfulness helped me save a lot of time and focus on what is really important. I especially appreciate a simple neat design of the app, that makes it even more pleasurable to use it :)

### 5/5 — A true standing ovation!

*2024-01-27, version 7.2.0*

I am truly impacted positively by this app. It helps me be more intentional about my habits and develop healthier patterns with my phone use. Also, I appreciate taking time to think about why I’m
wanting to use my phone and am able to model healthier strategies for navigating social media. I recommend this app to everyone!

### 5/5 — Very useful app😊

*2024-01-16, version 7.2.0*

When a friend told me about this app, I thought I don’t need it. Yet when I tried it, my relationship with apps on my phone were never the same: the time I spent on my phone became a half of what it was…Using it is irritating in a way because it turns on conscious thinking )) But I like to feel how it changes my mindless scrolling on Instagram into short and on point tasks. Unhealthy dopamine into healthy, I’d say. I can recommend this app.

### 4/5 — Buggy

*2024-01-09*

I want to try it. But it’s very buggy. Freezes on screen time app selections. Keyboard won’t go away on AI screen so I can press the start button.

**Developer response:** Hi Sportdue55,
Thank you for reporting this! We have noticed a similar issue on certain iOS versions and are preparing a fix that will go out this week with Taskfulness 7.2.0.

Apologies for the inconvenience and hope you will give Taskfulness another try once we release the fix.

Best regards,
Natalie

### 1/5 — Hangs

*2026-03-02, version 7.8.1*

I want to manage more than one app and would be glad to upgrade to Pro, but when I click to upgrade it hangs and says Restore Purchase and when I do, it doesn’t save anything. They I try again and it does the same thing.

### 1/5 — Terrific

*2024-12-23*

I used to love Actuflow and bought a lifetime purchase. Then they moved to a subscription model and essentially told their old members they had to start paying for a subscription. That’s not cool and a complete bait and switch. At the very least they should have grandfathered their old members like me, who paid for the product (in addition to giving them free consulting via Zoom). A 50% discount is not a good remedy to that. I would not recommend this app for that reason, plenty of others out there that will actually treat their users/financial supporters with the respect they’re entitled to.

**Developer response:** Dear Yezwaj,

Thank you for reaching out with this 🙏
There must be a mistake, because we made sure the lifetime users of the previous version of Taskfulness receive a lifetime subscription.
Please reach out to us, so we can understand what went wrong and fix it 🙂

### 1/5 — No

*2024-10-23, version 7.7.0*

I cant delete this😭😭💀💀💀

### 1/5 — The free version is useless

*2024-05-02, version 7.3.0*

It just blocks the apps and you can’t define a task and duration in the free version 😐

### 1/5 — Can’t get through the setup

*2023-12-19, version 7.1.5*

Can’t even get through the setup because the text exceeds the size of my phone (even when I reset it to a much smaller size) and I’m unable to progress through to the next screen because the button at the bottom isn’t visible.

### 1/5 — Wow… RIP

*2023-11-13, version 7.1.4*

This is now signup & subscription-only garbage. RIP Actuflow / Taskfulness.

### 1/5 — Does not work as promoted

*2020-08-12, version 2.0*

Due to iOS limitation this app is not able to offer what the android counterpart does effectively making it a notepad. Please I would like a refund

### 2/5 — Missing when it was Actuflow

*2024-08-05, version 7.6.0*

Seems like the free version provides no real features now (aside from 2 “emergency minutes”) which is a bummer. I really loved using this when it was Actuflow (downloaded in 2020), it was super simple and worked! Many thanks to the devs for those years ❤️
Unfortunately my phone must’ve removed my download of the old version, so I had to get the newest version that requires a subscription to use the reason/intent function at all :( If a pared down free version ever comes back, I’d love to use it again!

### 2/5 — Great in theory

*2024-06-02, version 7.3.0*

The concept is really good and I can see it working perfectly but you need to pay to use it at all. Theres isn’t really a free version with extra benefits when you pay, you can do one task and then it requires the subscription to set anymore which is the whole point of the app!

### 2/5 — Buggy

*2024-01-07*

I want to try it. But it’s very buggy. Freezes on screen time app selections. Keyboard won’t go away on AI screen so I can press the start button.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best app in the field

*2025-02-12, version 7.8.1*

I’m in love with this app. The idea of having to type why you’re going to use the app before accessing it makes you much more intentional. I feel like I’m back in control of my digital life—I no longer open Instagram or WhatsApp automatically after finishing a task. Now I can pause and reflect on whether I really need to do that at that moment, and this has been changing my days. Much better than just blocking the app for a while is being able to reflect throughout the day on when and why to use it at that specific moment. I’m very grateful for this app. It’s truly worth using!

### 5/5 — Terrific

*2024-12-27, version 7.7.2*

Great app that stays innovative and helps you stay off your phone to focus on the more important things in life. I’ve used it since approximately 2020 and it has made a marked improvement in my life and career.

### 5/5 — Makes me think when I scroll

*2024-11-10, version 7.7.0*

This app saves so much time!
Now I get asked what am I doing on the phone, and for how long. I use my phone more intentionally and focused, and my screen time has dropped down 2 hours/day!!!

### 5/5 — AI notifications are 🔥

*2024-09-10, version 7.6.2*

Personalized AI notifications is the best feature IMO. When I am surfing unintentionally, the app would suggests alternative tasks that align with my goals. My screen time is now useful!

### 5/5 — Life-changing

*2024-09-09, version 7.6.2*

Taskfullness is such a sweet, non-irritating app, yet it’s still persistent in keeping me on track! I really appreciate all the different settings, especially the option to choose whether I want emotional labelling or not. It’s been eye-opening to see how often I unconsciously dive into my Instagram feed. I bet this app is going to be a huge help in keeping me focused and prepared for my exams!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2024-09-08, version 7.6.2*

I rarely write reviews, but this app delivers! It cut my 10h scrolling routine down to 6-7, and I don’t feel controlled, unlike with other blocking apps.

### 5/5 — Klair Cassis

*2024-09-07, version 7.6.2*

I really enjoy it - the app is intuitive, asking the right questions about the time and my intention when on social media. With Al tips it doesn't get boring, too. Thx for creating it 😍🤍

### 5/5 — This app deserves more attention

*2024-09-06, version 7.6.2*

This works for me. The concept is to enter a reason (which gets evaluated by AI) and set a timer before you can access a blocked app. I usually find myself not having a good enough reason (for myself, not the app) and just doing something more productive instead. It forces me to reflect on what I actually want to be doing, and not just automatically scroll to avoid boredom. Other app blockers I find too easy to mindlessly override or I have to set up a schedule, which I dislike. This app gets my present-self to regulate my behaviour, not my past-self. That guy can get bent. The app is not perfect, but it’s better than anything else I’ve tried. It’s expensive, and I don’t use a lot of the features, but after putting it off and trying to replicate the same effect with other apps for a few weeks, I pulled the trigger and paid for the year and honestly thing it’s worth it to me. Worth a try, I’d say.

### 5/5 — From chronic procrastination to super fit

*2024-08-26, version 7.6.0*

I am a chronic procrastinator, but with Taskfulness I manage to track and redirect my attention better. Don’t remember the last time I spent so little time on Instagram. I came back to my workout routine and spend more time outdoors which doesn’t make me crave social media anymore.

### 5/5 — My game-changer

*2024-08-22, version 7.6.0*

This app has been a game-changer for my productivity. It effectively blocks social media apps, allowing me to stay focused during work hours. The interface is simple to use. Since using it, I've noticed a significant improvement in my concentration and efficiency. Highly recommend for anyone struggling to stay on task!
