### 4/5 — Nice Game. Wish it had more

*2025-10-08, version 1.6*

Ever since the PalmPilot game Space Trader I’ve been searching for the next-best equivalent. So I stumbled onto this one. It’s a really great go at it and was a pleasure playing. It boats extra features such as financials and investments which is a cool feature but is missing the other aspects which made Space Trader so incredible: missions, more destinations, and ship and crew upgrades that included military engagements. This version is a lot of fun but it’s relatively simple with not much variation or excitement. It’s predictable, albeit fun. Totally enjoyable but I just wish they developed it more. They focused on the trading aspect which was about 30% of the game, and they did that really well (though it’s severely limited to only our solar system and about ten destination). Overall lot of fun. Looking forward to the next installment that could include piracy and broader destinations.

### 4/5 — Great Game (But room for improvement)

*2023-10-19*

Its a fun game all together probably spent about 5-8 hours on this game very fun but i wish there was more of a challenge I find the ships to be too inexpensive and easy to acquire also I wish there was a game mode that you can only unlock after youve unlocked all ships that requires a little more brain power to succeed in.

### 4/5 — From the 1 player

*2023-05-16*

Limitless fortune is an apt description. The game lacks any form of sever consequences, with the most you can lose being 10k from pirates. Collecting the ships and early game are a blast, but the game could definitely improve. Overall, I would recommend the game to anyone who likes laid-back strategy.

### 4/5 — Like Space Trader

*2022-07-21, version 1.6*

It’s just like the old Space Trader game but no combat. I did not experience any bugs.

### 4/5 — Perfect “waiting room” game

*2022-05-29, version 1.6*

Love the retro graphics.
UI is easy to use.
Perfect for casual gamers.

The only somewhat “negative” thing I’d say about this is:
50/50 sometimes it will stop playing any music I have going on my preferred streaming service.

### 4/5 — Sweet game - for first few days

*2022-02-10, version 1.6*

This game is so exilerating until late game you’re just waiting for stocks to go up and spamming spice trades until you retire. Also gold stocks are useless. It’s fun though if you make your own story out of it.

### 5/5 — 5 stars

*2021-12-31, version 1.6*

Really good

### 4/5 — Fun game but needs greater variety

*2021-08-26*

Was looking for a space trading game that wasn’t overly complex and this is nearly it. Just needs a bit more danger

### 4/5 — Needs more excitement

*2021-07-16, version 1.6*

Please add ship battle upgrades like shields and weapons and have pirates attack!!

### 4/5 — Awesome game but a few suggestions.

*2021-06-15, version 1.6*

I really love this game and the concept of it. It is fun and keeps me engaged. However, after beating the game twice or more times, it starts to get repetitive. I think that a lot more ships should be added, such as massive cargo ships that are billions of dollars. Right now, the late game has nothing to do with trading and you use the trading mechanism as an excuse to spend time waiting for stocks to go up. It would also be great if you could establish planetary operations that generate passive income or that give you resources without having to buy them, such as an aluminum plant that gives you free or extremely cheap aluminum. This can be balanced by giving each planet limited reserves. Also, add a multiplayer feature so that prices can be influenced by player actions. You can also maybe add a new system or systems, such as Alpha Centauri. Going really far here, maybe you could build power plants and stain spheres to produce power for the factories I talked about above, or just to sell to other players. Thanks for this great game and keep up the awesome work!

### 5/5 — After 2nd install, no more crashes!

*2021-04-23, version 1.6*

Seems like deleting, then reinstalling fixes whatever the crash bugs were.

### 5/5 — Fascinating!

*2020-12-25*

Shipping trading and working the market all in Time! Fascinating relationship. Quite enjoying this game...recommended. Not fast paced yet it encourages thought, honing intuition and timing!
One thing...it keeps crashing about every 3 - 4 trips. Just have to go back in but it is rather annoying!

### 5/5 — Highly addictive

*2020-12-13*

Incredible, minimalist game that is shockingly addictive for just being text based. If you like space exploration and trading, give this a shot. You won’t be able to put it down.

### 5/5 — I’m so happy that I found this! I loved Gazillionaire!

*2020-09-11*

Simple graphics with quick and easy gameplay, this immediately reminds me of Lavamind’s Gazillionaire and the online BBDS multiplayer Game in the later 80’s ... Trade War?

I wish this one were still being maintained. Bummer that it seems not to be.

### 4/5 — Easy but addictive

*2020-08-20*

This was just what I wanted, in a way. Very relaxing. No battles, no tension or time-sensitive stuff. Just buy, travel, sell.

My only disappointment is that there’s not much to unlock. A few extra port of calls, with nothing especially exciting or new there.

It’s also pretty easy. I was in debt for a while but pulled out fast, and now I’m making millions in the stock market so the buying and selling feels like small potatoes.

My captain has been going for like eighty years, but the game seems to have no time limit.

I’d like it if you only had, say, fifty years before you had to settle down and score your game, instead of making it possible to just go on and on forever until you have billions

I also wish there was more stuff to unlock and discover - like if the outer planets had rare resources or something.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — waste your time you don’t learn every thing

*2022-02-09, version 1.6*

you can only buy you no can sale
how you make money

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2020-11-23, version 1.6*

It opens to a splash screen with a double circle and then closes without ever actually opening the app. Also, weirdly, the app shows as downloaded at the Apple App Store but is nowhere in my phone.

### 2/5 — Would be great, Could be great

*2016-05-23*

I do really like the game it's cleaver, interesting and fun, it on the downside is jam packed with ads I'd say every 40 seconds or so you get and ad cover the screen with out the ad banners at the top. Would be good to have an option to remove the ads or just calm them down a bit. Other than that the game is good haven't found any glitches yet or encountered any problems.

### 3/5 — Striped down Gazillionaire Deluxe

*2023-10-04*

A basic version of the lavamind classic. If you liked that you’ll find this a decent version

Original is far better tho

### 3/5 — Fun But!

*2022-05-31*

Plays well for about 12hrs use. Then crashes about every 3 or 4 moves.

Restart iPhone does not resolve issue.

iPhone 6 iOS 12.5.5

### 3/5 — Overall enjoyment

*2020-11-11, version 1.6*

So after a while I got bored. I think the game needs more variety in the random situations, as well as the goods available on each planet. I think there should be enough variety that a person will encounter a novel product or situation no matter how many months they’ve been flying. Perhaps an ongoing writing team...

### 3/5 — Sell?

*2019-02-02, version 1.6*

Um... is there a way to get money in this game? ...??? Btw I have an iPad mini 2 so I hope that helps.

### 3/5 — Needs to fix app crashing

*2018-04-10, version 1.6*

Love the game. As I progress in the game, the lag increases and the app crashes more often during travel causing loss in current cash and trade values. Really fun strategic game but the bugs need to be fixed. It’s really frustrating having to reopen the app over and over again within a couple minutes.

### 3/5 — A bit buggy

*2018-04-07, version 1.6*

I like this game because it is easy to play but after a while the game starts to present a confirm box to the same, or often different, destination in the middle of a trip (after that trip was confirmed). Once your wealth gets into the billions, it becomes very frequent. At some point later, it just crashes.
It could use some variations from game to game as to what each planet imports or exports. After you've played a while, and start a new game, it sticks you into the tutorial without option to bypass.
This game is addictive, if somewhat mind numbing - a solitaire feel. I would definitely give it a five if it weren’t for these issues.

### 3/5 — Basics are there, needs development

*2018-04-04, version 1.6*

This is a good basic space trading game set apart by some sophisticated economics I haven’t seen elsewhere. The Financials and Investing screens are super cool, although not much integrated with the rest of the gameplay. (And gold seems like a curious investment option, wouldn’t plutonium or vibranium have been more thematic?

It can be buggy, which has been commented on in other reviews. My main gripe is that play becomes less, not more interesting when you reach the outer planets. Travel times get so long that it slows the game to a crawl; it’s nearly impossible reach Uranus, Neptune & Pluto in time to exploit commodity surpluses & shortages.

The bones of a good game are here, with some intriguing features but it needs more development to become outstanding.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Enceladus Retirement Bug

*2025-11-26, version 1.6*

I have gotten 9 months several times and it won’t show me as first still as 10th for my 12 months finish. I’m first in most other categories. Good game, wish it had more to do!

### 5/5 — Great space trader game

*2025-03-08, version 1.6*

I love this rendition of the game. It has the classic feel and mechanics I remember from similar games in the early 90s. It’s fun, soothing, and addictive enough that I play 5-10 rounds in a row very few months.

### 5/5 — Hello the game is super fun I am a fan of space and

*2024-11-07*

I love pixel art so this game is my style 😍

### 5/5 — Great Arbitrage

*2024-04-05, version 1.6*

Buy low, sell high, no frills, all game. Love this stuff dude, great work. I wish there was more. I’d pay $5.00 for a sequel with no IAP like this one. Well done again.

### 5/5 — Great Game (But room for improvement)

*2023-10-27, version 1.6*

Coming back after having seen the leaderboards it wont update my networth i have 11,000,000,000,000,000,000 net worth in my most recent run but it says 64,000,000 on leaderboard

### 5/5 — User suggestions

*2023-06-14, version 1.6*

First time playing, love it. Investment concept is cool. However, I think that features such as human transportation and planetary operations would fit very nice in the game and make it more interesting. Crew spaceships could be added, and space stations, generating some passive income. Also it would be very nice if players had an opportunity to assemble own spaceships from parts.
Thank you!

### 5/5 — Worth the ratings!

*2022-12-04*

Simple controls, simple concept, winning game. No crappy “in-game purchases”, it’s like games used to be.
Oddly worth coming back to!

### 5/5 — 5 stars

*2022-11-23, version 1.6*

Fun space trading sim

### 5/5 — It’s fun

*2022-04-23, version 1.6*

Relaxing

### 5/5 — One of my favourites

*2022-01-16*

It’s a simple to understand game with great replayability. Interplanetary trading of goods can earn you millions, engaging with the stock, bonds and gold can earn you millions more (or bankrupt you).

I’d love to see more attention on this game as it’s one of my favourites and I think many people would enjoy it.
