## What is Line Please!?

Know that feeling? You're on stage. Your scene partner just delivered a powerful monologue about how, in a way, aren't we all like pigeons? (We are!)

And now they are looking at you expectantly. You look back at them, keeping your cool (of course!). Slowly, over what feels like an hour (but really is just half a second) you realize that you just missed your cue. [Expletive!]

Enter Line Please! Well, not really, because in that situation, you're still on your own, pal! But Line Please! is here to help you in the rehearsal process to get all those lines and cues into your head!

With Line Please! it's incredibly easy to record the lines for your scenes, then run them over an over again!

Feeling confident? Then mute your own lines and fill in those gaps!

Missed a cue? Hit the “Line Please!”-button to hear that line you missed!

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.3 — 2026-04-28

* Even writing this might jinx it, but I believe I have finally crushed an elusive bug that would sometimes and without concrete reason play the first line of the next scene silently and then just stop.
* Previously added script validation made it impossible to import a script that had no recorded lines yet. A pretty edgy edge case, but hey, a bug‘s a bug!
* Various small tweaks under the hood to improve performance and stability.

### 1.4.2 — 2026-03-14

* The progress bar on the Now Playing screen now reflects the current playback speed.

* Fixed an issue where changing the playback speed would in some rare cases mute the volume.

### 1.4.1 — 2026-02-03

* Updated the navigation structure when you're inside scripts a bit, in preparation for further changes down the road.

* Made sure Spotlight indexing of scripts does not block other updates on the Scripts list.

* The Line Please button would sometimes not be ready to prompt you for your first line.

* The progress bar would not reliably progress while prompting.

* Playback could become unreliable when switching between scripts.

* Fixed some issues with the playback controls in the Now Playing widget.

### 1.4.0 — 2026-01-09

* Want to move around longer scripts with more ease? If you have more than one scene there now appears a handy button next to the list that lets you jump straight to any of your scenes!

* You can now search for scripts in Spotlight and directly jump into your desired script.

* Added a progress bar to the playback controls on the learn screen.

* Know your way around the stage? Then optionally mute your stage directions! Missed something? Hitting the "Line please!" button will also prompt you on muted directions.

* Liquid Glass effects in more places.

* Some general cosmetic tweaks.

* Fixed an issue where tapping on the player controls would register a tap on the list underneath.

* The context menu for stage directions no longer shows the option to assign them to a character.

* Raised the minimum required OS version to 26.

* Some tweaks to the audio engine, especially to improve reliability when switching to headphones mid-playback.

### 1.3.3 — 2025-10-26

Fixed a problem where reordering scripts would not actually stick if you have active and archived scripts.
