Looking online they seem to do this foreigners all the time. They gave me a month then after it was unblocked, they still don’t let me message others. No reason given! I never even use the app much. If you’re Japanese then you’ll probably be alright but stay away if you’re foreign. They seem to have it in for white people particularly. It’s impossible to contact line to solve this too btw or if it is, it’s very hidden. You can only somewhat see in a chat box. They have these kids buttons replacing all of the theme's that were supposed to be there. They messed up the news and the friends area. So now you get 2 news mixed in. No changing of themes and or background. I don't even know why I have Theme's Anymore if I can't See them. Please fix. That is very easy if you happen to have downloaded the app when visiting Japan many years ago, then gotten a new phone without transferring the account in the meantime. I lost YEARS of chats with my former fiancée and others just because line is the MOST STUPID DANGEROUS method of navigating transferring account to a new device after you need device replacement. Also the fact that LINE never even tried to get email or anything else connected to the account and have no notice whatsoever this would be needed. It will only send a code to your LINE account that you’re locked out of, no email or phone number option. The only two feature I wish it had was a feature to auto translate texts from foreign friends and a speech to text feature when a friend or family sent a voice chat with auto translate option. This enhances privacy for users if in a public space and isn’t able to use headphones. It would be nice if it was similar to WeChat/kakaoTalk where it could allow money transactions, daily updates posts like instagram, watch reels, live streamers, line emails.
