It worked when first downloaded a couple of years ago then with all the upgrades it stopped working. All phone notifications are ON. It doesn’t stay logged in and will often say that my password is wrong but it’s the same one that is saved and worked the time before. It also will say that the garage opener is offline but it isn’t, it is an app issue. We have had the garage door opener and app for a few years now and I keep waiting for an update to the app that will correct these issues but the company seemingly isn’t concerned once they get your money for the opener. Thank you. ### 1/5 — Used to be good. *2022-06-11, version 1.81* This app used to be good. I was able to get notifications when door was opened/closed. Now there are no notifications and it’s super glitchy. It would work sometimes and sometimes it won’t. The worse thing is if it doesn’t work then it will randomly open my garage at some point later in the day. It’s ridiculous to the point I just had to uninstall the app. ### 3/5 — Has potential *2022-04-26* My only issue with this app is around the Geotrigger settings - every time I walk away from my home (and I don’t even use the garage door) the app alerts me that I’ve left the garage door open ### 1/5 — Unbelievably horrible *2022-03-29, version 1.81* Worst app ever. The doors would not respond to the app, whether closing or opening. It would go offline randomly. The most common problem, if it wouldn’t respond when you needed it to, there was no telling when or if the command would go through. This resulted in me receiving notifications, when I’m far from home that my garage door was opened by the app. Or worse in the middle of the night when I’m asleep. My door would be open for hours!!! I spent multiple hours talking to all of them while they each blamed each other. Fact is I’m certain it’s on them, and the app sometimes gives notifications and sometimes doesn’t, and this morning it kept opening my door from the app, and I sent a password reset and now it won’t open at all. I’m selling all of my openers and switching to lift master- this is the worst garage door / app I could have imagined. Is it really that hard? ### 1/5 — Useless *2021-06-26* Set up was a pain. My place does does not show updated activity day/time for the garage door or light. Additionally, the device details for recent activity does not show the updated activity either. Contraindicates notifications. Wouldn’t know which was correct if not home. Still very disappointed. I should have went with another garage door opener. Couple of months ago, notifications stopped working, maybe when iOS was updated but all other apps work well. Now, even opening the app (in different) devices, it doesn’t show an accurate time on the latest garage door status ### 2/5 — Notifications don’t work anymore, tried everything *2021-04-05, version 1.81* App worked great when 1st downloaded but after several months the notifications stopped working. I use to get alerts when my door was opening or closing and the time it happened. Great when you’re not home but get alerted that door was opened and you know kids made it home for example. BUT it doesn’t work anymore even thought notifications on iPhone are turned on. I’ve deleted app and reinstalled, restarted phone, turned off notifications and back on and none worked. It is nice to be able to open and close door yourself from your phone but that’s the only benefit now. When I sent a troubleshooting email it just said to contact my dealer Not good enough! ### 1/5 — I’m almost worried this is a scam *2021-03-31* The entire onboarding experience is terrible. I’m totally confused here. Seems the company could care less if their app works. If this wasn’t already installed when we bought the house we never would have went with this type of opener. Save yourself some trouble and just get a Chamberlain IQ. I’ve tried to find a way to fix it and even emailed the company but nothing worked and they have just a nothing-type form letter reply. It will open and close but even that isn’t consistent. I’ve checked all settings and everything is set correctly. Looking at the reviews, it seems Linear isn’t going to be concerned that their app doesn’t work. That’s really too bad because it was a decent app. Hard to get the openers set up on it, but good once programmed. ### 3/5 — No notifications *2021-02-19, version 1.80.1* My notifications have stopped working. They are turned on in the phone and it used to work. In fact, we used to get too many (4 every time we opened and closed 2 fir the door and light one and 2 fir door close light off). The pairing simply does not work, I have strong WiFi connection and have it set at the 2.4g as it requires and after going through the steps on the app to switch to the WiFi network, it kept popping up the same message saying to choose a network that is not GTO####### network (basically saying don't connect to its initial setup connection). Then it stalls there, and if you go "back" it makes you go over the whole process from the beginning. This is terrible and they should not claim the tech works. False advertisement! ### 1/5 — Horrible all around *2023-12-30* This company has horrible products and customer service. We installed our opener a few months ago and we have Toyotas. We can not program our vehicles to operate the device. So, I called customer service and we received a 3rd party company. This company did not offer useable answers. Now about the app, again horrible. We close the door, using external remotes and after 5 mins I will receive an alert detecting that I have moved away from the premises, would you like to close the door. Well, it was already closed. Again, overall horrible. I am ready to replace it even though it is brand new. ### 1/5 — Horrible app *2023-08-28* This app is buggy, horribly designed, and doesn’t seem to want to work with iOS. Sent a feed back email and get a response saying talk to your installer. Costume support is horrible and I now see why this app is rated so low. Wish I can find another app that actually works. Would give zero stars if I could. ### 1/5 — Notification’s does not work *2023-01-16, version 1.81* Don’t waste your time or your money with this app! The notifications of when the door is opened or closed stopped about a year and a half. I’ve called their tech office multiple times about when this glitch would be remedied. The person that answers the phone over there is extremely rude and annoyed that anyone would be so rude to even call and inquire about when a tech issue would be fixed. These people do not care that you bought this product and they evidently not planning to take care the time to fix the problems related to it. My advice to anyone that needs a product like this is to buy a garage door opener that is compatible with a My Q app. It works all the time and it never fails!! ### 1/5 — Shoulda Bought Another Liftmaster *2023-01-16, version 1.81* The garage opener itself works just fine but for the life of me I can’t make this app work. Been trying for 3 THREE YEARS!! My Liftmaster app at my previous home worked fantastic. Using an iphone 13+ and a DECO Mesh M5 router with a station right on the other side of my garage door. Super strong signal from my home internet all the way to my sidewalk. I paid good money for this opener system but not getting full value. Would never recommend it. ### 1/5 — Nope *2022-12-29* What a waste of time. I followed the instructions explicitly and only resulted in being unable to pair with my network. And please don’t say “it must be your network” as I have no other device that has difficulty doing just that. You should keep trying though to fix your app/software, but in the meantime, I will find a better app. ### 1/5 — No notifications? *2022-12-15, version 1.81* I’ve had no notifications for about 5 months now, and it seems like they don’t have a plan to update this app, and fix this bug. I’ve seen multiple reviews of people complaining about this same thing, but the developers seem to only reply to the reviews that reference pairing, and address issues. Are you guys planning on fixing this bug, or not? What’s the deal, and why no communication with users having this same issue? Like other users, the alerts went away even though all our personal settings were correct. I hope the alerts stay this time. ### 5/5 — Works great *2021-02-05, version 1.80.1* I don’t understand all the negative reviews on this app I’ve had this downloaded and been using this for about a year now and it works great. I use it when we go for walks and don’t want to bring my keys and I can easily open our door from my app, it triggers the door within a second or two simple as that. I have a 10 minute timer set so if our garage is left open it will close within 10 minutes. Tested this while I was doing some yard work last month and sure enough it closed at 10. ### 5/5 — Works as expected *2020-06-15, version 1.78* I’ve been using the app since November 2019. It works as expected. It did take me a couple of tries to get both garage doors to work but once set up it has been rock solid. We’ve had the system over a year. Seemed the app was buggy initially, but working fine the last few months. I just open and close the doors and lights with the app. I haven’t used the geo fencing. I wish it had and Apple Watch app. Update: still working well for the last 4 months. Currently June 2020. Using the system on a iPhone X and XS. **Developer response:** We appreciate the feedback. Currently, we are working on a solution to better implement user login. As a temporary workaround whenever login issue happens, please double tap the home button and kill the app. Relaunch the app and your login credentials should be automatically filled. ### 5/5 — Great app...I don’t understand the bad reviews *2019-12-06, version 1.76* Often times an app gets bad reviews simply because users may not fully understand the app or not follow the instructions exactly in configuring it. I think this is the case with the Linear garage door opener app. I've read all the negative comments about how this app will not work with an Orbi Mesh WiFi router, but I have one and it works perfectly. In fact, the app is very impressive in how it can be configured to include display of the light or not, and other features regarding adding other users to have access by simply adding them as a "member" and them downloading the app. The setup was very simple and straightforward...only three steps and the opener was connected to my Orbi Mesh WiFi router and working perfectly. It not only provides remote open/close control of the garage door, but notifies you on your iPhone if the door has been opened or closed. This is a great addition to a home security system and also serves as a reminder when you're miles from home and wonder "Did I close the garage door?" I'm very pleased we purchased this particular Linear garage door opener. It's quiet, works flawlessly, and the WiFi feature is very helpful. ### 5/5 — New Garage Door and Best Opener *2019-08-02, version 1.74* I just had my garage door installed yesterday with the nicest Precision Door opener I could buy. They did a beautiful job installing these and this app worked right away. I wish the app could do more then just open and shut my door and turn the light off and on. I thought I would be able to see all activity with my door even while I am away from home. But I do not see how there are options for that. I give 5 stars because this app does work and the job they did installing was wonderful and professional! ### 5/5 — Working now with iPhone X *2018-12-24, version 1.69* This app kept crashing when I first tried to use it a couple of months ago. I noticed the app had updates recently and decided to try again. Everything working including the geofence settings. My favorite part is receiving push notifications when the door goes up and down and when the light goes off. I like that the app sends out notifications when the door is opened/closed along with the method used. These notifications worked initially for few months; but later stopped working. The app has earned the 4 stars 😃 ### 4/5 — Almost there! *2021-01-16, version 1.80.1* I too tried to connect this to the door 3 times to no avail. I started reading reviews on this app and saw a response from the manufacturer to let the app access your location always. If that doesn’t work then to restart the app. Voila! Worked the first time after I allowed the app to always know my location. Awesomely quiet opener. Note to the app developer... Add this key detail to the add device tutorial!!! 1 star off for the hassle. ### 4/5 — Nice App! *2020-05-01, version 1.78* I just had a new Linear door installed and am very impressed by how quiet it is. Installing the app and connected door to internet was a little challenging. After reading the reviews about connectivity I was nervous about it working. Once I started trying to connect app to door and then to internet, I started getting internet connection failure notices. This went on for several minutes. As I started to get frustrated, I powdered down my iPhone and powered it back up. The app then was able to connect and the rest of the setup was a breeze. Once it was working, I set my wife’s phone up instantly. Nice app. Can turn lights on and off and close and open door. Works great!
