It gives learners an opportunity to talk with real people from different countries through voice calls. This helps in improving pronunciation, fluency, and confidence while speaking English. The app is very useful for practicing daily conversation and learning new words in a natural way. However, there are some drawbacks too. Sometimes network issues disturb the calls, and at times it is difficult to find a suitable partner. Also, the quality of conversation depends on the other user. Immediately after being cut off I saw that my native language setting have been rejected, and so I thought to call back to at least hear why. The moment the second call went through, the verifier accused me of “hang(ing) up on me(him) like an axxhole” when it was just cut off on my side (I thought he was the one who hanged up on me). I tried to explain calmly that I did not hang up on him and apologised for any offence felt from that incident (which isn’t even my fault), and he just refused to believe and said he was offended without trying to know or properly understand what I was trying to convey.
