## What is Lingo IQ?

Some of our best thinking happens out loud — during a walk, between meetings, or in the few minutes after a difficult conversation. Too often those thoughts disappear before we capture them.

But recording them creates another problem: privacy. A voice note can contain a confidential business decision, a sensitive leadership conversation, or an idea you are not ready to share. You should not have to send it to a cloud service to get useful help from AI.

Lingo IQ addresses both: it helps you understand what you say, while keeping your words on your own device. Its measures were developed with communication coaches, speech therapists, physiotherapists and business leaders.

CAPTURE WHAT YOU SAY
You talk. Lingo IQ transcribes live, summarises your thoughts, pulls out reminders, and organises your notes into Projects — or leaves them in Brain Dump until you decide where they belong.

Start from the app, the Lock Screen, Control Center, the Action button, or by saying "Hey Siri, Lingo IQ recording". A Live Activity follows progress while you do something else.

SEE WHAT YOU MEAN
Transcription tells you what was said. Insights show you how you communicated: the topics you return to, where you hesitate, and patterns that are hard to notice while you are speaking.

Blind Spot Review examines 15 dimensions of your language. Purpose-built analyses cover communication, customer service, sales, meetings, leadership and more.

For leaders, that is a way to rehearse a sensitive message before delivering it to a team. For communication coaches, it is a way to review speech patterns with clients without uploading their recordings to a cloud model.

KEEP IT ON YOUR IPHONE
By default, transcription, summaries, analysis and distinguishing one speaker from another all run on this device.

• No account. No sign-up.
• No analytics and no crash reporting.
• Nothing uploaded.

Cloud models are optional. If you choose one, you bring your own API key, and the app shows you exactly what will leave your phone before anything is sent.

ALSO INCLUDED
• A dictation keyboard that works inside Mail, Messages, Notes and any other text field, without replacing your everyday keyboard.
• Reminders and alarms from plain speech: "remind me to call John tomorrow at four".
• Two-speaker separation for conversations, using models bundled inside the app.
• Import audio, documents, photos and text from other apps.

REQUIREMENTS
Lingo IQ is free and requires iOS 26. Recording, transcription and search work on any iPhone running iOS 26. On-device AI summaries and analysis use Apple's Foundation Models and require an iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, or a newer iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence.

Your voice. Your knowledge. Your iPhone.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.4.2 — 2026-10-07

Lingo IQ now speaks Chinese, Spanish and French.

A tester running the app in Chinese found most of it still in English. Around 2,200 strings are now translated — the whole introduction, all of Settings, Reminders, and the Insights reports.

Also in this update:

• Settings ▸ AI & Models no longer sits on "Reading device capabilities…". It was reloading itself over and over; it now appears immediately.

• A long recording no longer leaves the app unable to start the next one. An interrupted recording becomes a note instead of being lost.

• Your notes are copied before a new version opens them, so an update can never be a one-way door. If the app ever can't open them, it says so clearly instead of failing to launch.

• Error messages now have a Copy Details button. Lingo IQ collects no analytics and no crash reports, so sending that text is the only way we can see what went wrong. It contains no audio and no transcripts, and you see it before you send it.

### 1.4.1 — 2026-10-06

Your recordings, protected across updates — and a way to tell us when something goes wrong.

• Fixed a problem where a long recording could leave the app unable to start a new one until you force-quit it. If an earlier recording was interrupted, it now becomes a note instead of being lost.

• Lingo IQ now keeps a copy of your notes database before a new version opens it, so an update can never be a one-way door.

• If the app ever can't open your notes, it now says so clearly and tells you they are still on your iPhone — instead of simply failing to launch.

• Error messages now have a Copy Details button. Lingo IQ collects no analytics and no crash reports, so this is the only way we can see what happened. Everything it copies is shown to you first, and it contains no audio and no transcripts.

### 1.4 — 2026-10-05

No release notes.
