You almost have to purposely mess up many times for the teacher to even get a little frustrated. I’ve been using this for a little less than 4 years now and the teachers really explain what the word means. They’ll actually take the time to define the definition and grammar context of a word. I think it is a very productive way to learn. However, almost all lessons are structured around a short story in Chinese that you have to learn how to read and then there are games that revolve around. The problem is that a lot of the time the story is a lot harder than it should be. There are more new words than the lesson intends to teach you and it can be frustrating to ask the teacher to read a word again and again. Sometimes the lessons can also get boring in the spaces in between reading and games where you have to do analysis. Though I do think that the good things outweigh the problems. ### 4/5 — Please read this *2026-02-15* Ok I love this app, like why do people hate it, I mean it glitches sometimes but just leave the class and rejoin. It’s not a big deal, y’all need to be patient. Also the teachers are very nice. Such a disgusting organisation, harassing us again and again with different phone numbers. Every time we blocked one, another comes through. Please stop harassing us. It's so deeply disturbing when 5 numbers call in per week in the middle of the night. If zero stars were an option, I would definitely give zero. Very bad experience overall. The teachers are good, but everything else is extremely poorly managed. It is almost impossible to reach customer service when you actually need help. When there is a problem, no one seems to take responsibility. Classes keep getting cancelled or disappearing from the system, sometimes without proper notice. They keep saying the system automatically expires the classes and then they need to add them back again. This is very unprofessional and very frustrating for customers. The refund process is even worse. At first, the package and refund policy sounded very clear and flexible, but later they gave different explanations and made the refund very difficult. It feels misleading and unfair. Good teachers cannot make up for terrible customer service, poor communication, messy class management, and a bad refund experience. Just the homework has some problems. 1. The prints are sometimes kinda long. And 2. It is a waste of paper. The thingy rarely glitches. Plus the teachers are patient like HECK. I made a mistake like a million times and I could only see a miniature frown. The paper homework has a nice variety to it and it has cute pictures which entices young children. When children level up, the homework changes a bit, but the fun is still in it. And, in my opinion, the online homework is quite fun, although it sometimes glitches. The lessons always have a nice story to it, which has words within it which children need to learn. The teachers are so patient and kind. The characters are also really cute and make nice story characters. the story videos are really fun too and I like how you can review previous lessons and watch playbacks. Overall, I believe that this is worthy of 5 stars.
