Loved the idea and concept of this app. It was disappointing to be dropped in Cairo to work on Egyptian Arabic and not be able to practice Egyptian dialect. 😔

Ich hab die App ausprobiert, weil ich gerne einen australischen Akzent für mein Englisch wollte. Hat auch viel Spaß gemacht und ist definitiv etwas anderes als die typischen Apps.
Kostet natürlich Geld, nach dem Probieren hab ich die App dann wieder gelöscht weil ich nicht bereit bin, fürs Lernen Geld zu zahlen.
Schade, damit geht eine wirklich gute App mal wieder wegen des Geldes verloren….

### 4/5 — Speech recognition needs work - update

A really useful tool especially for those without regular access to people to practise their target language. However, the speech to text sometimes produces words or phrases that sound nothing like what I said. Would appreciate more accuracy.

edit: changing the speech input model to ScribeV2 as devs advised did actually make a big difference, speech recognition is significantly more accurate now. Not 100%, but definitely better.  There are some other issues that crop up now and then:

- sometimes the mic doesn’t capture anything after tapping the mic icon and responding. 
- sometimes when loading an environment, the process freezes at a certain percentage and doesn’t move at all unless I switch from wi-fi to data, or occasionally vice-versa. While wifi strength where I am isn’t great, it seems odd for a complete freeze in the loading process to happen instead of it progressing slower for instance.  
- crashes occur quite a bit. Perhaps it has something to do with performance constraints because they seemed to happen less often after turning down graphics and framerate. It’s usually not that big a deal as you can just start the conversation from where you stopped on restarting the app, but it would be a little strange to me if performance constraints were the issue, as I’ve played far more intensive looking mobile games on older iphone models than the one I currently use without issue.  

I appreciate the effort the devs are putting into this, as well as their promptness in addressing issues. As the app is still in early access, I get that bugs will be a thing. I haven’t tried the latest update yet as of posting this, so I’ll likely edit this again if I notice any of the issues brought up here are fixed.

The good news is that transcription quality often improves with a few tweaks: try switching your "Speech Input AI model" to Scribe V1/V2 in Settings, use a quieter environment, and experiment with different microphone inputs (headset vs. phone mic can make a big difference). We're continuously working to improve accuracy, and your feedback helps us get there!

C’est super pour bien apprendre n’importe quelle langue mais il faudrait que les personnages pose plus de questions intéressantes pour pousser la conversation.
De plus il faudrait une partie gratuite avec un fonctionnement de point au lieu de proposer une offres qui est assez cher et qui peut dégoûter plus d’une personne.

Genau das was ich gesucht habe. Ich verstehe zwar einiges an spanisch, wenn was geschrieben steht, aber meine sprachlichen Fähigkeiten sind 0 trainiert, besonders, wenn ich nicht nur einen vorgegebenen Satz vorlesen soll.
Dazu ist die App perfekt und erinnert mich auch ein bisschen an ein Cozygame.

Sehr gutes Konzept aber es gibt KEINE kostenlose Möglichkeiten.
Die App kostenlos anzubieten und dann in der App eine Paywall einzurichten ist einfach bodenlos.
Man könnte ja, täglich eine Konversation mit der KI kostenlos machen, alle weiteren Konversationen nur mit einem Abo.

Sehr enttäuschend. App wurde direkt wieder gelöscht.

Eu falo uma frase e ele entende outra totalmente diferente, eu disse „a raça do meu cachorro é Yorkshire“ e ele entendeu „eu ano meu cachorro“, bem parecido, só que não!

Tente mudar o "Speech Input AI model" para "Scribe V1" ou "V2" nas configurações (Profile > Settings) — modelos diferentes funcionam melhor dependendo do sotaque e qualidade do áudio. Também ajuda praticar em um ambiente silencioso e verificar se o microfone do seu fone está funcionando bem. I have tried three times now in this trial to get past one section and it won't let me correct the mistake, it asks where am i from and before i even get to answer it say i'm american .... i am not and it's very frustrating , my trial is almost up and it looks like a fabulous app, but i can't get past this section without accepting the wrong identity

I’ve been using the app for at least a couple of years now and have recommended it to a lot of friends. I’ve also carried an annual subscription, last renewed in January. 

However I just got a new phone and am unable to sign in with errors saying my account doesn’t exist. I also reached to app support a week ago and have never heard back. 

The app is great - when you can access it, but my experience with support has been terrible.

UPDATE:
I then got an email with instructions to contact them & that they’d look for it. I sent the email and haven’t gotten a response more than a month later.

This is my second review- I love this app. I’ve been studying French & Swahili on it now since April. I really would love for you to offer Malayalam on this app. South Asia specifically Kerala is such an awesome, wholesome place. There’s about 40 million who speak this language, some of them being my husband’s family who I really need to learn how to communicate with. This is my number one go-to place for language learning and I know that it will help me so much!!

Excelente, depois de usar um pouco vai ver que é pago, achei um pouco caro o plano mensal, mas compensa! Como não tenho ninguém para conversar em inglês, o aplicativo é uma mão na roda. Ele ajuda nas respostas também, então é uma ótima opção para os iniciantes de inglês!👏🏼

This app is extremely helpful with practicing conversations and the AI is pretty accurate and you can spend an endless amount of time practicing. I would suggest adding more places like a clothing store to talk about clothing sizes or preferences. And a school to talk about classes, schedules, tests, teachers, and all things related to education. If this app could add more places to expand on even more topics, it’ll be perfect🥳
