### 2/5 — Misleading - not free

*2026-08-20, version 5.2.6*

This app is well laid out and easy to use. I found it easy to learn from…for the first level and a half, then you can no longer progress without paying.

### 3/5 — Pretty good overall

*2026-08-19, version 5.2.6*

This app is amazing, but I’m not incredibly happy that they added prices like that, because everything adds up after another and I wasn’t even able to learn through an entire lesson, without it asking for a free trial which then goes to giving the app money
If I didn’t have to pay that much, it would be a better fit for me
But overall it’s a good app

### 4/5 — WOW

*2026-08-14, version 5.2.5*

I love this app! It’s very interactive and easy to use. The reason why I rated it four stars is because it’s very similar to Duolingo and I fear the same begging, sad act will pop up if I lose the streak. Otherwise, I absolutely adore the way this app works. It’s very cheerful and I like the way it has a slow-down button on the videos, you’re not being timed, and embraces positive reinforcement.

### 2/5 — Kinda hate it

*2026-08-10, version 5.2.5*

I loved the app until I realized I can’t do the lessons to learn more I have to pay and I can not pay that but I am trying to learn sign language when this is the best app there is I can even use it

### 4/5 — Great until AI

*2026-08-09, version 5.2.5*

I was loving this app and telling everyone about it for over a year now. But now an update just happened and they said they’re using AI to evaluate your skills. This is VERY disappointing to see. I’m turning off my subscription renewal for that reason alone.

### 5/5 — Hairstylist no longer in silence

*2026-08-09, version 5.2.5*

I am a cosmetologist and I have a deaf client. I have always wanted to learn how to sign but I thought I’d never have time to do it so we’ve been in silence for 3 years. Im so excited to learn in 5 minutes a day and get somewhere in conversation with her finally!!!!! Thanks for this cool app to connect people. ♥️

### 5/5 — No title

*2026-08-09, version 5.2.5*

I love this app I’ve always wanted to learn sign language

### 5/5 — LOVE THIS APP

*2026-08-08, version 5.2.5*

This is great I just started and me and my mom are loving it

### 5/5 — The best asl

*2026-08-08, version 5.2.5*

Usually, I don’t like to do stuff, but when I saw this, it made me want to do it, and now I’m learning it well.I can do stuff in sign language, and now I have a talent that I can use to do songs with, which is also cool.

### 2/5 — Subscription

*2026-08-08, version 5.2.5*

You have to pay to continue to next unit.

### 2/5 — Summery

*2026-08-08, version 5.2.5*

I loved this app so much for the first couple lessons and I have been using it a lot every single day. Until I would have to pay $20 or more to continue which is a deal breaker for me. I loved this app so much but then I lost my love for it instantly. Great app I loved it but totally don’t recommend if you want to spend $20 every single month!!

### 3/5 — umm

*2026-08-08, version 5.2.5*

so like we shouldn’t have to pay for a language we want to learn

### 5/5 — Fantastic App!

*2026-08-07, version 5.2.5*

This is a brilliant app for learning ASL, dare I say the BEST. My only negative is that I wish the cost were more sustainable as it's extremely pricey over the long term.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No English option

*2026-08-25, version 5.2.6*

When I open the app pop up different languages

### 1/5 — Don’t use

*2026-08-25, version 5.2.6*

Halfway through the second thing you have to pay for it it’s so unfair that you had to pay for it halfway through the second lesson some people can’t afford to pay for it and that’s why they thought it was free. That was me. Don’t buy.

### 1/5 — Way overpriced

*2026-08-23, version 5.2.6*

Great app. In fact, it’s the best ASL app I’ve ever used but the price is insane. At its cheapest it’s $120 a year. It should be $120 for life like a textbook.

### 1/5 — Paying

*2026-08-22, version 5.2.6*

It’s good for the first chappter and then you have to pay. So you can’t get a good app without paying .

### 1/5 — $$$

*2026-08-20, version 5.2.6*

Never even learned how to sign “you money hungry”

### 1/5 — Great app garbage prices

*2026-08-08, version 5.2.5*

App is fundamentally solid but the subscription plan is absolutely ludicrous. 20 dollars a month is a complete scam. Do not install.

### 1/5 — Makes you pay for everything

*2026-08-07, version 5.2.5*

Terrible

### 1/5 — Not enough content

*2026-08-02, version 5.2.4*

I really want to learn sign language so I signed up for a year and then realised that the content is very limited. Three months content at best. I feel like I’ve been conned. I could have just subscribed for three months and completed all the content and cancelled my subscription.

### 1/5 — ridiculous

*2026-07-30, version 5.2.4*

i cannot belive they let you finish a lessom then anlittle more then half way through the second chapter they make you pay like excuse me there are people in the world that alot of people dont understand and now you want people to to be able to understand?!?!

### 1/5 — Sad

*2026-07-28, version 5.2.4*

I really wanted to learn ASL and even joined a club at my school for it. The club only taught finger spelling so I thought I would get an app to actually learn some things. It was going great, the lessons were good, until I got blocked by a paywall. This is so sad. Then, I figured out that almost all the ASL apps on the App Store are incorrect, outdated, or need an overpriced subscription. I guess YouTube will be my teacher now. 🤟💀

### 5/5 — good for beginner

*2026-08-16, version 5.2.5*

good place to start. using 3 months now. worth paying subscription. learning a lot.

### 5/5 — Amazing app I’m just poor

*2026-08-14, version 5.2.5*

This app is amazing, I enjoyed learning not only sign language but the history and how it affects our daily lives and it was just overall a good app to invest in although I am very poor so I don’t have money to keep up a subscription. I definitely think the app is worth it and if I had the money I would.

### 5/5 — Love Lingvano
