### 2/5 — They Bait and switch you into paying for monthly membership.

*2024-01-03, version v2.9.0*

When you pay as much as you do for the device, it is crummy that you are suddenly bait and switched into paying additional membership fees. It never really mentioned that too clearly, if they had I would have gotten an AirTag and done many of the exact same things this does.

### 5/5 — Great App and Product

*2021-12-03, version 2.2.7*

The app works great and helps me keep up with my pup.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2021-12-02, version 2.2.7*

I love my Link! Had a quick question trying to figure out the setup and features after purchasing and Melissa with customer service was SO helpful and walked me through everything. Love being able to track my pup’s activity and he is a runner so the peace of mind knowing I will always know his exact location if he ever got out is worth every penny!

### 5/5 — So happy with the upgrades!!

*2021-12-02, version 2.2.7*

The new link device is awesome! Love the longer battery life but love the new activity details more. The customer service team is always there when I need them and so helpful! Thanks Link!

### 5/5 — Great customer service

*2021-12-02, version 2.2.7*

Great phone support with fast reply time.

### 5/5 — Great Tech support

*2021-09-04, version 2.2.2*

Just signed up for Link, so I can’t comment on the long term. But I had trouble on my end connecting and tech support were great! Very helpful and quick to get a solution. Very happy so far with my purchase 😊

### 2/5 — Doesn’t work when it’s cloudy; issues with battery

*2021-05-08, version 2.1.4*

In theory, this Link collar and app are great. There a light on the collar unit to use in the dark, and you can use the app to make it make a sound if you lose the unit. But the darn thing doesn’t work or update if there is one cloud in sky. And it changes when it’s overcast; when I checked this morning it had activity in the bars but wouldn’t register it on the circle. Then in the afternoon I went for another walk with my dog—at a 17 minute mile pace—and only 7 minutes is recorded for a 30+ minute walk. And, it took away the activity from the morning. I mean I guess I have my watch to prove the activity, but this same situation happens almost every time it’s more than partly cloudy. So frustrating. I know, I know—first world problem. And I don’t need the app to tell me my dog is getting his exercise. But it still would be nice if it worked. Oh—and the battery level changes weirdly. One time I checked it, and it said 25%. I went back into the app 10 minutes later to check something else and it said 75%. That’s a pretty big discrepancy and has happened on more than one occasion; perhaps the firmware needs to be updated by the company and then pushed to the units.

So, after a few more weeks, the thing just shuts off at odd times and doesn’t record walks. The battery and the phone app still are not really in sync—the battery level changes each time I open the app, even if it’s only a few minutes later. It’s also getting so I have to charge the battery every day or it will just cut out. Not really worth the subscription price so I reduced my review from 3 stars to 2 and won’t be renewing in the future unless they make some serious and good changes.

### 3/5 — You can’t customize notification

*2020-09-14, version 2.1.4*

Every time I walk outside without the dogs I get three separate notifications ( 3 dogs) that they are not around me and then 2 minutes later I would get three more saying there near me. It’s killing my battery on my phone. It’s unnecessary. Also I can’t have all my dogs on one screen it’s a bit annoying. Good idea just really needs work on the app. More user friendly please!

### 2/5 — App needs to improve

*2020-01-17, version 2.0.2*

Can’t go back in the app after accidentally starting a plan code. Deleted and reinstalled. And still stuck at that screen. Was also told app update would be out next week. 3 weeks ago. Still no update for bug fixes.

### 5/5 — Support staf

*2019-12-20, version 2.0.2*

Outstanding customer service thank you

### 2/5 — App is draining phone battery

*2019-11-01, version 2.0.2*

Set aside that the unit rarely lasts more than 12 hours before needing a charge, whatever update was made recently to the app/unit firmware had resulted in a battery hog on my iPhone XS. For example, overnight, while the unit was on the charger the app drained 23% of my phone’s battery. I get that the unit would be a background drain when in lost dog mode, but this is ridiculous and not sustainable.

### 5/5 — My Almost Stolen Husky!

*2019-10-31, version 2.0.1*

I was at work when my phone started getting notifications of my dog is away the base stations. When I checked where my dog maybe at? She was in someone house. Than it was updating the locations of the collar GPS that moves and the GPS lead me to the curved trashcan where the person who had my dog found out it was a GPS Collar and threw it away near my house. Good think they keep records of every location she was at cause it lead me back to the house where they kept her tied up. I got my dog back thanks to Link AKC Collar.

### 2/5 — Not multiple owner, multiple dogs on a RV

*2019-10-05, version 2.0.0*

We live full time on a RV. We have small 3 dogs. What we are finding is...

- we can not see all 3 dogs at once
- we need to login as one user. So when one of us is with the dogs and the other isn’t, it shows that the dog is “with you”
- since we live full time in an RV the range of ”home” is several blocks away from the RV.
- when we have needed to find our dog, either the battery is dead or the dog is “home”
- one of the 3 Base Stations lasted about a month before it stop charging the device.
- the smallest device looks like a neck brace on our dog.

Love the concept but execution isn’t quite there.

### 1/5 — Tracking doesn’t work

*2024-10-09, version 2.11.1*

Even in tracking mode the map in the app only updates location on approximately a 15-minute delay. The location relative to where your dog was 15 minutes ago updates every 15 seconds so it looks like your dog is moving around where it was not where it is. After speaking to customer service, all the data on their side shows perfect functionality, so I’m guessing the issue is with the app. In the end it doesn’t really matter, you cannot use this product to track a lost dog.

### 1/5 — Link

*2023-03-16, version 2.7.1*

This is the worst tracker I have ever purchased
Constant false alarms
And now no tracking or daily activity other then unit is charging after multiple support new tracker not sent and the support is useless

### 1/5 — NOTHING WORKS!

*2020-02-21, version 2.1.0*

I bought my daughter a Shih Poo around Halloween. Bought the collar shortly after. He’s finally big enough to wear it. Now the app won’t allow a picture to be uploaded, or won’t accept his breed, or if I can those to work it never allows me to put in his age! So glad I spent as much as I did, because I honestly don’t remember, on this crappy collar just to find out the app doesn’t work...

### 1/5 — Cannot set up

*2020-01-28, version 2.1.0*

I cannot get past the Add Dog process; it does not allow me to do anything on the Age screen. And there’s no way to setup on website.

### 1/5 — Great idea, terrible app!

*2020-01-11, version 2.0.2*

I have two dogs who get out several times a week. This can be very stressful and scary not knowing where they were or if they were okay.
I was thrilled when I learned about the Link AKC gps collar.
Unfortunately, my experience with the Link app has not been as good as was hoped.
The app freezes on me several times a day, at one point I had to delete it from my phone and re-download it just get the app to let me sign on.
The website said real time tracking yet when my dog ran away it would only update every few minutes so I would always be behind her.

I think this product would be truly amazing if they could improve the app.

### 1/5 — App is garbage

*2019-10-29, version 2.0.1*

App crashes when trying to create account.

### 1/5 — Ten minutes late for everything

*2019-10-06, version 2.0.0*

Quit using this altogether. Ten minutes after a walk we’ll get a notification that the dog is away. Then minutes following that we’ll get a message the dog has returned. Even playing outside, in an open field in populated Westchester county NY, it will say that the dog can’t be located. Update the system, or save your money.

### 1/5 — So disappointed

*2019-04-16, version 1.3.0*

There is such a disconnect between what this device represents and how it is represented. My link became a brick last week. Battery failed. No problem getting a replacement ordered. KEY WORD-ordered. It has been sitting I. A warehouse for a week!!! Customer service says not their fault and they have no number to call warehouse. Meanwhile a device I paid a lot of money for is SOL. My best friend a AKC registered Great Pyreenees has no tracker on him in case he gets out. What a failure. I was promised after several phone calls and me being accused of being “pessimistic” it is still sitting in a warehouse. I was promised I would get it today. I bet I won’t even have it next week. You put my dog and my piece of mind out the window. There is no excuse for this none. Your device is less than perfect and to put someone through this is inexcusable. Shame on you. UPDATE-going on nine days no collar. Still has not left AKC warehouse. USPS still waiting for it. No one at AKC LINK could care less. I have been lied to. They won’t even send out a unit overnight or at all. ******Go to get GIBI.com****if you want a tracker with no frills (don’t work anyway or bells and whistles) it is a GPS tracker that you set up geo fence for your critter(s) it is awesome. You can set it up for daycare, groomer, home. They care too. It also has a website you can check on your critters at.

### 1/5 — Customer support hours impossible if you work

*2019-02-02, version 1.2.10*

BEWARE Only worked 2 months. Have been in touch via email because they are open M-F 9-6 when I work. Needed to be with the unit to test. Won’t cancel application unless I call in. Getting charged for almost a year for a service I can’t use. Asked to mail it in for testing and told no. Why can I buy the application without a phone call but not cancel it. This is ridiculous. BEWARE

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work in woods

*2018-12-10, version 1.2.10*

This thing is WORTHLESS. I live in a wooded area and it does not work when my dog is even remotely covered by a tree. I’ll be going back to using whistle.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great Support

*2023-02-01, version 2.6.2*

I have to say, I’m so glad that I selected the Link device for my dogs. There were other options out there but, based on my prior experience with the first generation Link, I figured it was the right choice. The support from the Link team is outstanding. I made a software suggestion a while back and someone from your team called me a few weeks later to let me know that the change was implemented. This type of service and support should be the standard for any company.

### 5/5 — Lots of great features

*2022-08-02, version 2.3.0*

I have used this app for years and I love all of the new features!

### 5/5 — Like a Fitbit for my dog

*2022-07-11, version 2.3.0*

I love the Link and app. It easily tracks my dogs activity, houses vet records which I find really useful and of course there’s the GPS. Very customizable for our needs. Works great

### 5/5 — Many features, great piece of mind

*2022-02-22, version 2.2.12*

I’ve been using Link for a little over a month now and I’ve really enjoyed using the many features it provides. We use the tone feature for training recall, the flashlight on dark walks, tracking our hikes using the adventure feature and of course I love to know how much activity he’s getting each day. We have thankfully not had to track our dog Ozzy’s location using the gps feature, but it is a great piece of mind knowing if he does get loose, we’ll immediately be able to track where he is. We can also store his vet and vaccination records, and we will get a notification if he is in an environment that may be too hot or too cold for an extended period of time. I’m sure there are other features I have yet to discover but overall I find this to be a complete smart product for a pet!

### 5/5 — Love my Link!

*2022-02-21, version 2.2.12*

I LOVE our link! It’s not too big, fits into any collar we have so easily. It helped me locate my dog when she got out the other day.

### 5/5 — Peace of mind!

*2022-02-21, version 2.2.12*

Love this device for the peace of mind that my dog is safe & able to be tracked should she run off. App is so easy to navigate and very user friendly. Especially love the extra features of the light, tone, & vibrate. Amazing customer service as well!

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2022-02-21, version 2.2.12*

Love this app and our link gps device. The device attaches to any collar/harness and then I can use the app to check her activity levels (like a Fitbit) as well as locate her. The app will also alert you via notifications if your dog leaves your home zone or is away from you. This is great for homes where multiple people care for the dog. You can know if they dog has been walked, how much exercise it has, and if it’s been active. The app can also track vet records and even alert you if the temp is too hot or cold for your dog. Great if they are home alone all day.

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2022-02-21, version 2.2.12*

The app is easy to use and straight forward! Can find everything easily and love being able to track my pup on all our adventures :)

### 5/5 — Keeping Our Dog Safe

*2022-02-21, version 2.2.12*

We love using the link device and app to keep our dog safe and ensure we know where he is at all times. The app is easy to use and easy to set up. We’re enjoying it & appreciate that there are regular updates as the developers keep improving the app.

### 5/5 — Neat product

*2021-12-07, version 2.2.8*

Peace of mind, never worry about losing my sweet boy
