I have wasted two libres without coming to a conclusion as to why the blucon isn’t reading the data and support has not replied to my emails in 5 days. I don’t know what to do but I am considering initiating a chargeback since I haven’t gotten support and the device is in warranty. I have just reached out to them again. It’s so disappointing. The weeks it did work were great but the lack of support and communication I actually insane. So so disappointing!! ### 2/5 — Refresh in every 2 minutes not a 5 minute *2025-03-31, version 1.2.1* The refresh rate of the FreeStyle Libre 1 sensor is every two minutes, which is inconvenient. Additionally, the Nightrider battery backup is only five days because of the frequent refresh rate, not the five minutes it used to be. After going back and forth with support, they finally admitted that it does not support the current version of the Libre 2 sensor, even though it is advertised as compatible. I'm really looking forward to the next update ### 2/5 — When it works it’s great *2023-07-04* I bought mine over a ear ago. Right out the box it worked fine with my iPhone 13 Pro Max phone. I use this with a Libre 2 sensor. I did try using the Libre Reader device. The Reader worked fine as long as I remembered to take it with me all the time. I would forget it on my way to work out picking up lunch somewhere. I went back to using my phone app and wanted something that made the Libre readings send to my phone like the Dexcom does. My insurance refused to give me the Dexcom option so I bought theBluCon Nightrider to try back in 2021. It worked great for all of 2022. Since March of this year I have had issues with it not connecting to my phone or it will connect but not show any of the readings from my Libre2 sensor. Sometimes the Libre2 sensor stopped working so I would remove it and put on a new sensor. The BluCon still doesn’t work all the time still. It’s out of warranty but support has been great working with me. Reboot your phone and disconnect Bluetooth and have it forget the BluCon then restart your phone, put a new battery in the BluCon then reconnect it and the Libre2 sensor and pray the BluCon works. It doesn’t till after the 6th time if I’m lucky. It knows when the 1 year warranty runs out. **Developer response:** Dear Ang33b, We regret any inconvenience you may have experienced. The 3rd sensor would not be read by the Night Rider transmitter. Also a 4th I was forced to use that next day because the other sensor was ruined. So now I’ve lost a very expensive sensor and have a tool I can’t use. I sent no less than 30 emails to support, and even got someone on the phone once.. I tried to return it from the beginning, but they do not refund anything they say they accept returns, but in practice they do not. They stall you and string you along until you can no longer dispute the charge on yoru credit card, then keep your money. The KnightRider stopped collecting data on June 28, 2025 when I changed FreeStyle sensor. How can I reset as if has never been connected. The app still displays the last reading captured. I went for months not being able to use the NightRider because you failed to upgrade the device to use FreeStyle’s with an expiration date after 9:40:2023. Now either it has failed and you are reluctant to admit. I have tried all of the suggestions you have sent and none worked. Please fix! ### 1/5 — App and sensor issues *2023-09-18, version 1.1.86* I am struggling with either the new versions of the blucon app that was released recently or my blucon sensor. See serial number attached. The app CONTINUOUSLY crashes and gives me a message saying "time out". It also does very little recording from the libre sensor, perhaps 40% of the time in total. The Apple watch app basically does not sync to the app. Perhaps 20% of the time. The watch app also does not show the trend arrow indicator. This hasn't happened since the updated app release from February 24. This was one of the best features of the watch app complication and I make mention of it every time I provide you with support feedback. What is also bizarre is that when replacing the battery in the sensor it does not reflect that it is new. The battery indicator always shows red and suggests I need to change the battery. Furthermore the new batteries only last a few days before the app says the battery must be replaced and is depleted. I'm very disappointed in the new app and the sensor. Her glucose sometimes goes low or high. Keeping track at night is a nightmare. This product Ambrosia Night rider wakes us up before any incident is going to happen. Now my daughter has been going to school with it having it connected to her apple watch 5 cellular. I can track her progress being away and alert her before incident is going to happen. 2 years ago this product used to disconnect from watch a lot… but now its improved 100 times and I can vote for it confidently. Great work ### 5/5 — Frustrated *2023-09-15, version 1.1.86* I have been using the Blucon for almost a year but it last November 2022 and recently I’m getting an orange banner that says status unknown and the battery signal keeps telling me that the battery is low or to change the battery. I’m using Sony batteries I contacted through the app to Ambrosia to tell them about my problems. They sent me an invite for a test flight, but did not send me a pass code so I could sign onto the app therefore the app TestFlight cannot troubleshoot the bugs that are in your app for the Ambrosia link Blucon and I was on a chat with someone from Ambrosia but I can’t find that chat site any longer and someone from Ambrosia sent me an email told me not to change the battery. A few months ago Ambrosia requested me to send them the device and they would send a send a new one, instead they sent back the old device and said nothing was wrong with it. I bed to differ, either it’s their device or their app or both. $150 down the drain I am fed up with Ambrosia customer service. ### 5/5 — Saved my day ! *2023-06-22, version 1.1.80* I just used the app to connect with an Abbott freestyle libre 1 sensor bought in Thailand. Both my freestyle reader and the LibreLink app on my iPhone (11) were refusing to activate the sensor. I’m really happy that this app just reads my sensor and gives me my blood sugar ! ### 5/5 — Very good and helpful devise *2022-07-04, version 1.1.60* I liked it ### 5/5 — Glucose readings in your wrist *2022-02-27, version 1.1.56* If you have a freestyle libre one, then this is for you. Pop the nightrider on, and you get CGM style readings every five minutes. You have to know there are the occasional connection issues, which unpairing or restarting usually fix. Oh, and you have to replace the battery at least every week. Small prices to pay for the reassurance of CGM style glucose monitoring. BUT Unfortunately the latest update opens a workout app session on the iwatch, which takes away the outdoor walk option. You cannot turn this off. This apparently is to gain your heart rate. As you cannot turn this off the heart rate green lights are on permanently. This drains the watch battery in about six hours. So to use the LinkBluCon app on the watch all day, which I imagine is why most people brought it in the first place, you have to disable the cardiac monitors. Great app in theory but please get rid of this workout app usage. I want the LinkBluCon app to tell me my blood sugar not my heart rate.
