A single malicious message can cost you a lot. LinkSentry lets you inspect the message first — safely, on your iPhone, without ever opening where its rogue links lead. PASTE IT BEFORE YOU TRUST IT Copy the suspicious SMS or email, paste it into LinkSentry, and tap Analyze. You get a plain-language verdict and, more importantly, the reason behind it: the exact domain, the exact wording, the exact mismatch. LinkSentry never visits the address you give it. That matters more than it sounds. A unique link in a scam message can tell the sender that a real person received it — and can expose your IP address — simply by being opened. Every check happens on your device, against the text itself. WHAT IT CATCHES • Free subdomains on site builders, developer previews and dynamic DNS — where much of today's phishing lives, because anyone can create one in minutes without proving who they are • A brand's name used in a domain the brand doesn't own, like fedex-shipping or IRS-connection • Raw IP addresses, link shorteners, and credentials hidden inside a link • Addresses that mix ordinary letters with accented ones, so hotmail can be spelled with characters that only look like the real thing • Domain endings sold cheaply in bulk, favoured by senders who expect to be shut down within days • Lookalike spellings that differ by a character or two • Deceptive subdomains, where the real domain hides at the end instead of the start • Urgency, credential requests, payment demands, and prize bait in the wording SCREENSHOTS AND QR CODES Have a screenshot instead of the text? Pick the image and LinkSentry reads it on your device with Apple's Vision framework. QR codes are decoded and their destination analysed as text, never opened. HONEST ABOUT ITS LIMITS • "No obvious warning signs" is not a guarantee of safety, and the app says so. • Message-wording analysis covers English and French. Technical link and domain checks are language-independent. • Pasted text and screenshots rarely include the headers needed to verify SPF, DKIM, or DMARC.
