But the app design is so poor, probably by the same engineer who built the device and don’t know UI/UX. Nobody company comes close. I assume that’s why the app has been designed and styled so poorly and cheaply. Because they didn’t need to invest in it. I think it is the worst app I have ever used. In der Zeit auch frei wählbar sein Ansonsten sehr solide und nichts zu beanstanden. Es gab bis jetzt keine Probleme. App UI desperately needs work. Just follow standards and OS conventions. Get rid of the extremely poorly designed bottom bar with random web links. I can’t connect to my system unless I’m on wifi, which is a pain as I want to be able to operate it remotely. Additionally, the menu bar at the bottom of the screen clutters the design and clashes with the iOS pull-up graphic. It isn’t hard to use—takes maybe 5 minutes to learn. Easy to install. This should be so simple. It is not in its’ current incarnation. How about at least some pre-defined templates to edit. The real problem with this app is it *looks* like one or two newer programmers (~5 years experience) wrote it how they thought it should work with little or no feedback from users taken into account and no experience with UI design. It was definitely not planned well before being built and it’s obvious where the developers’ early decisions trapped themselves into bad design. This is one of the most thoughtless UI designs I’ve seen in a long time. ### 1/5 — The worst UX/UI experience ! *2020-05-19, version 2.1.0* It’s like being in « Back to the futur », in one tap you are back on windows 3.11. Every time I launch it I have to figure out all over again how to turn the water on. Fix the app and it will be an amazing product. The hardware works very well. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Great app *2026-08-17* I just installed my new LinkTap controller and started using the app. It is really well written. It’s very clear and simple, but also allows you to get deep and complex if you want. Almost every option has an info button (little circle with an “i” in it) that produces a popup that describes the function and options. Everything powered on and just started working. Great job!!!! ### 5/5 — Great hardware *2026-07-11* I tried a number of other solutions, including b-hyve (which didn’t function at all remotely) and, while this app is a bit convoluted, it is relatively flexible, powerful, and (maybe most importantly) reliable. The hardware, as others have said, seems in an entirely different league than any other water timers I’ve tried. ### 5/5 — Linktap brilliant device *2026-05-24, version 2.9.6* I have lots of smart home devices and home assistant. One of my favourite smart devices is Linktap and the app is very good. Great purchase for the garden. You can add a cost for water used and it makes you realise you need to be judicious with water usage due to cost. I recently bought some fancy hardware, but before I installed it, I read the reviews and was a bit worried I might have made a big mistake. But guess what? I was totally wrong! This app is absolutely brilliant! It’s got a high level of customisation, which means it can be a bit complex at times. Honestly, I think people these days are used to being spoon-fed interfaces, and they’re a bit disconnected from being able to read data sets without all those shiny buttons and fireworks. If you just want a simple on/off switch, you can get a cheap timer. But if you’re keen to get a precise amount of water in tagged zones using exactly what you need, along with weather data, then this app and the product are just what you need! I love the real-time water flow and the reports of recent usage. It’s also really helpful to know when you’ve lost connection. And there are plenty of safeguards you can put in place so you don’t accidentally turn on the tap while you’re away. Overall, I’m really impressed with this app and the product. ### 5/5 — Such a good app! *2025-07-23* It's clunky but also super fast with zero animation and very powerful. For example you can do hierarchical linkage!
