### 3/5 — great app BUT

*2025-02-07, version 6.4.3*

i wish the developers had a mac version, or at least let me install the iPhone version on my mac.

### 4/5 — A great app

*2023-07-31, version 6.3.7*

I really like this app. I use it to share articles (with personal commentary added) all the time. I hope in the future it will natively incorporate sharing to micro.blog. That’d be pretty awesome.

### 5/5 — Best App to Post Stuff

*2022-12-31, version 6.3.3*

Love this App and glad to see it finally updated. Was worried that the developers dropped it. Best App I’ve found to quickly post an excerpt with associated link.

I use to post to Twitter and Mastodon every day. Also good for Facebook and posting into a text or iMessage - but have to copy and paste as FB no longer allows direct inserts. Big time saver

### 5/5 — Great for Mastodon

*2022-12-21*

There are lots of Mastodon clients out there now but some of them lack share extensions, and those that have them sometimes aren’t great. This is a world class share sheet extension with tons of features that will work no matter what Mastodon app or server you use. Super convenient!

**Developer response:** Thank you for this nice review. It's good to read.

### 5/5 — Great Utility

*2022-11-16, version 6.3.2*

A fanatic, low-stress and long-running utility. Every time I’ve wanted it to fix one extra detail, I’ve discovered that Linky already does it. (ALT text in its generated text shots, posting to Mastodon).

Highly recommended

### 4/5 — Nifty utility, and a joy to use (but)

*2022-07-11, version 6.3.2*

This is something I use every day (though not as much as apps dedicated to Mastodon or Twitter alone). It has a lot of use cases if you occasionally crosspost or want to share links without disrupting your flow.

But there are two things it would take for me to give this app a 5-star review:

1. Alt text in images. For all the great markup facilities, I won’t post images from Linky, because I can’t add alt text – and this is one area where ease of crossposting (when you’re not just saving a simple copy-and-paste) would really be a huge asset.

2. Content warnings when crossposting. At the moment you can’t add a Mastodon CW/spoiler if you’re crossposting to Twitter. Content warnings are ubiquitous on Mastodon, so it’s not great to limit this to Mastodon-only posts. Ideally, I’d like the to be able to add a CW, and have it work in the usual way on Mastodon, but then have the option either to include it (prefixed by CW) as part of a tweet, or to omit it on Twitter.

### 5/5 — This app is magic!

*2021-07-15*

I keep finding fun new settings that make sharing text shots and urls better. Highlighting in text shot images, url shorteners, and composing preferences bring Linky to the next level.

The one thing that would bring it to 5 stars for me would be syncing settings between devices.

### 5/5 — Glad to see an update

*2021-01-21, version 6.3.2*

App works as intended, glad to see a new update.

### 4/5 — Is8

*2021-01-18*

There is no share sheet anymore. Or I do miss something.

Update: Restarting my device fixed the problem.Thank you for real answer.

**Developer response:** If you mean that you cannot see the share sheet in Safari or in an other app where it worked before: it seems that there is a problem, unrelated to Linky, in the latest version of iOS 14, restarting your device should fix it. If you still have the problem, please contact me by email.

### 5/5 — Excellent app

### 5/5 — Don’t Take My Word “TRY IT”!!

*2020-09-30, version 6.3.1*

Normally
I’m not leaving reviews—unless I can really say to my self; “I can appreciate the usefulness of this app.

✌️👍 WAY TO GO! Creators designers & developers. I appreciate the app, now you just have to connect a few more dots—now posting is universal.
Keep them UPDATES coming

### 5/5 — Linky is great

*2020-09-04, version 6.3.1*

Best sharing app ever, wish the dev made Linky for macOS. I really miss Linky when I post from macOS.

### 5/5 — Great!

*2020-09-03, version 6.3.1*

Any chance for supporting Vero?

### 5/5 — Unique a must have

*2020-06-10, version 6.3.1*

Works when others fail

### 5/5 — So simple, so useful

*2020-02-27, version 6.3.1*

If only support for Micro.blog could be added.

### 5/5 — powerful

*2020-01-19*

This simple app is worth every cent if you’re delivering news on Twitter. Although I haven’t figured out how to use the annotation features, the text clipping and image attaching features are just what I’ve needed. It’s at the front of my share sheet.

### 5/5 — Must have app- and perfectly designed

*2020-01-09*

Couldn’t imagine a better designed app

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Setup to where?

*2025-07-29*

NOTHING in the setup matched any of the images in the tutorial. Said to go to Safari, but where? Tutorial not clear at all. Links doesn’t appear anywhere it was suppose to. URL copied to clipboard from another app? What app? Linky doesn’t appear anywhere? No banner. What main screen? In what app? What settings? Where? I had such high hopes. Too confusing. So I suppose I have to go to AMEX to cancel and get my money back. Have to find an app that works.

### 1/5 — can’t connect twitter

*2021-07-24*

how resolve?

### 1/5 — Text Shots haven’t worked for a long time.

*2020-02-26*

That’s it, title.

To expand on this. I bought this app a long time ago specifically for Text Shots. They worked briefly, but after an iOS upgrade, can’t remember which one, they stopped, disappeared, aren’t even an option. I’ve uninstalled, reinstalled, setup as new, used different devices. The feature is broken.

I redownload Linky periodically to see if it’s fixed, try it, then delete the app and forget about it until I want to share a huge chunk of text in a tweet. Then the cycle begins anew.

I’d love to be able to recommend this app, but it just doesn’t work.

**Edit: After reviewing their in-app tutorial, I’ve also noticed it does not copy URLs or titles and consequently will not offer to insert them. At the moment, all this app does is copy a paragraph, toss it into a share sheet and highlight most of it as red because it’s too big to tweet. Lol, it’s worse than I remembered.**

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work on Facebook like they said

*2019-03-22, version 6.1.5*

The text says it works on Facebook so I purchased the app. However afterwards I noticed the fine print says it no longer works with Facebook. After they took my money. Dirty.

### 1/5 — False Advertisement

*2019-01-23, version 6.1.3*

This app can no longer be connected to Facebook or Pages. $4 to post in TWO places. No thanks. I want my money back.

### 1/5 — No facebook

*2018-11-25, version 6.1.2*

Top review talks about facebook, but read the app description. It is not supported.

### 1/5 — Worthless without FB Page

*2018-07-05*

This app is worthless to me now that Facebook has denied access from Linky to Facebook Pages as 90% of my usage was posting to my business Twitter account and Facebook Page. Without this capability there is simply no benefit to my using this app.

Can you credit me back my money?

If not, do you intend to notify users if FB allows your app to post to FB Pages?

**Developer response:** We are sorry, the issue is not our fault. Since the last few months, Facebook is reevaluating existing apps. This week, after a review, and without warning us, Facebook has made the decision to remove Facebook access from Linky. The reason for the rejection is opaque. For most permissions, they say “This permission is not required for your app's intended function, or it doesn't appear to enhance the user experience”.

There is one more thing: beginning August 1 2018, Facebook will deny ALL third-party apps to post messages to user accounts.

For these reasons, Facebook support will be removed in the next update published in a week or so.

### 1/5 — Error

*2018-06-28*

Can not add facebook pages.

### 1/5 — Lost $4

*2015-11-04, version 5.2*

It does not work. Can't link any account. Cant even sign up. Literally got my $4 stolen. And I can't get it back. If I could sue I would.

### 2/5 — Facebook r

*2018-09-19, version 6.0.2*

I spent $3.99 thinking that this app could still connect to Facebook. I only learned about it after opening the app (which I had purchased already). Now I have no use for an app which I spent $3.99 dollars for. Is there a way to have my money I refunded?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — IT KEEPS ME OFF THE DOPAMINE SLOT MACHINES OF OUTRAGE!

*2026-05-23*

I don’t have to open a single social media app just to post anymore. This app is worth far more than it costs.

For me, staying off social media is non-negotiable, but I still wanted a way to share interests and updates without stepping back into the outrage echo chamber even once!

### 5/5 — Indispensable tool

*2025-10-18*

Good for cross-posting, but also for sharing links to a single destination. The text shot feature generates alt text too.

### 5/5 — Indispensable pour Mastodon

*2025-10-14*

Dommage de ne pas avoir une comptabilité avec macOS et c’est mon unique remarque !!!!!

### 5/5 — Best Secret iOS Mastodon Trick

*2024-09-28*

This app is an absolute godsend 🙏 for posting on Mastodon.

Linky makes it so easy to include text clips and photos to create the most professional appearing Toots possible.

Using simple cut and paste, it can also be used to post on other social media apps and message/text (but unfortunately, you do lose the text clip.)

Wish Apple provided better support for Apple News (no clips.) There are a few other instances where it doesn’t quite work as intended which is not the developers fault.

Highly recommended! This one is a no-brainer purchase 🤗

### 5/5 — Still the best way to share

*2023-07-21*

Linky had to remove Twitter support, but that’s Twitter’s fault, not Linky’s. It’s still my favorite way to quickly share text and pictures to Mastodon!

### 5/5 — Favorite ‘Posting’ App

*2023-03-28*

This App makes it so easy to post content on Mastodon and other social media sites. It is a real Godsend! I use it as intended on Mastodon and also do a ‘copy and paste’ for text messaging and other functions. Glad to see developers continuing to support this favored App!

### 5/5 — Unersetzlich

*2023-01-24*

Für Twitter und Mastodon Crossposten und extrahiert Vorschau Bilder von Webseiten 😃

### 5/5 — Really handy app for your share sheet

*2023-01-08*

Particularly with mastodon use increasing, this app helps cross post in a more manual (and friendly) way. Handles ALT text for images, song sharing services and even content warnings for Mastodon!

**Developer response:** Hi, thank you for this feedback. Good news, latest update of Linky shipped today adds support for attaching alternative texts (alt-text) to images for both Twitter and Mastodon.

### 5/5 — Supports alt text!

*2023-01-06, version 6.3.3*

Update: As of Dec 2022, now supports alt text for both Mastodon and Twitter, thank you!

### 5/5 — Très pratique !

*2022-12-31*
