I wanted a nice clean simple app to control the 9000n, which the Audiolab app is not. I tried PlexAmp but that seemed to degrade the sound quality. Using the Linn app with MinimServer does the job well. The only thing I do not like is that the music in the queue is numbered sequentially across the entire queue, i.e. different discs do not show their own track numbering. I thought the latest update may fix that, but apparently not. ### 2/5 — Funktioniert leider immer schlechter! *2025-10-10, version 4.8.6* Ich besitze nun seit über 5 Jahren DSM Streamer von Linn. Anfangs mit Kazoo, seit Erscheinen der „Linn“ App mit dieser gesteuert. Leider muss ich sagen, dass die Zuverlässigkeit in den letzten drei Jahren stark gelitten hat. Immer wieder brechen Playlisten ab, Qobuz oder mein Minim Server werden mal nicht gefunden, etc. Der neueste Fehler: In Qubuz fehlen jetzt alle Listen mit „Alben“. Für mich ist das bei einem 8000,- € Gerät ein absolutes No-Go! Es ist auch nicht durchschaubar, ob die Firmware der Geräte oder die App die Probleme verursacht. Bitte, liebe Linn Softwerker, schafft hier schnell Abhilfe, sonst muss ich mich nach einem anderen Streamer umsehen. ### 2/5 — Que de bugs ! *2025-08-28, version 4.8.4* L’App demande les identifiants tous les jours , efface la playlist en cours, ne fait plus d’update dans différents styles (musique électronique par ex.)…c’est frustrant. Pour info, système full Linn + Tidal. ### 2/5 — Disappointing *2025-07-14, version 4.8.3* I’ve used this app for a few years after previously using Kazoo with a Melco music library. I would like to use it as default as I like its appearance. However i will need to use other more reliable and functional controllers instead. Apart from random crashes it regularly logs me out and when I log back in my playlists won’t play. The thumbnail art disappears and is a blank white tile. It’s a pita to have to keep rebuilding my playlists The latest issue now is I can’t create any new playlists or add tracks to existing ones ### 2/5 — Unreliable *2025-03-19* The app has failed to connect reliably to my LINN MAJIK DSM. LINN tech support points fingers at my network router, but the problem has persisted over several years and multiple different routers. I’m now using enterprise grade equipment and the problem persists. ### 4/5 — Decent but could be improved *2024-11-11, version 4.7.4* Decent, simple app. Lots of room for improvement, although recent updates (6 months ago) make it better. Being available on the Lock Screen would be ideal, and a bit more of a fluid and modern feel. A few more controls and natural user journeys for play out controls would be great. Also the ability to play the next song in an album without having to play the whole album. Could be a toggle etc. I look forward to the improvements. Just copy Spotify UX for play out. ### 4/5 — Linn now replace the old Kazoo *2024-10-07, version 4.7.4* This new version is a good, but the old Kazoo version was easier to connect to Qobuz with "Upnp". I still use the old Kazoo to make the connection and after I use the new Linn to select my Qobuz music. And it was quicker to mark a song as favourite by just clicking on the "Start" logo. ### 3/5 — Linn-App *2024-08-25, version 4.7.3* Kazoo war einfacher und übersichtlicher. Schade, dass es nicht mehr kompatibel zum Linn-Streamer ist. ### 2/5 — Not user friendly *2024-08-12, version 4.7.3* Application assez déplorable. Impossible de lister mon réseau local : stockage sur le disque dur de mon pc invisible. Obligé de créer playlist. Space configuration pour optimiser ma salle d’écoute insupportable à utiliser. J’ai renoncé. Et au quotidien j’utilise mon pc comme plate-forme de commande avec Linn Kinsky et surtout Foobar2000 après avoir installé le module upnp récupéré à partir de leur site. C’est moins joli mais ça marche et c’est un logiciel libre qui me sert aussi de serveur de musique. Linn à l’écoute Ok super pour moi depuis 20 ans. Stiil Linn apps are in prehistory. No Siri command, if only there was a mode to automatically play at launch of the app, or shut down the music, that could help creating some tasks on IOS/ipads. I would love to set my alarm and wake up with my music, or turn all my lights and music at tne same time,when going to bed.… almost an alarm clock integration could help. 2025 - Worse and worse, now the randow works …randomly, such as volume control… still prehistoric, no progress, ### 1/5 — Terrible app - constantly malfunctioning *2025-05-23, version 4.8.1* You can spend £35k on a Linn DSM and find it is supported by the worst music app in existence. Linn make great kit but, if they are using a third-party for this, they need to fire them. Why should I pay extra for Roon (which works)? ### 1/5 — An old banger *2025-02-10, version 4.7.9* I purchased a Linn system for its sound quality but thanks to this app I have a Rolls Royce which needs to be started with jump leads. Every time I want to play from the linn playlist I have to log on with email and password etc this is a few times a day. I logged the problem with linn who don’t have any idea of when the matter will be resolved not even if it will be weeks or month. Support staff are helpful but seem to suppose some technical expertise on my behalf. Tidal stellt die zur Verfügung, aber bei Linn können sie nicht angezeigt werden. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — It’s the best control app I have used *2025-12-30, version 4.8.8* I use music stored on a NAS and this app really is the best I have used, I also have Cambridge audio and Yamaha equipment and while their control apps are ok they are not as good as Linns. I just wish vendors like Linn would incorporate generic UnPN functionality so that you could use one app to control multivendor environments. Can’t afford Linn in every room! About time proprietary environments Were replaced with good generic standards. ### 5/5 — Vergleich mit Lightning DS *2025-04-21, version 4.8.1* Mir stehen als Streamer ein Aurlaic Altair und ein Linn Akurate zur Verfügung. Bisher galt die Lightning DS (Auralic) für mich als Optimum. Nun mit der Linn am Akurate oder Altair (Linn steuert beide) erkenne ich eine klare Verbesserung. Keinerlei Verzögerungen und (wichtig!) die App läuft im Hintergrund (Ipad) weiter und startet nicht immer wieder neu bei Taskwechsel. Ich habe an der aktuellen Version (Juni 2021) nichts auszusetzen. Update 2025 : ständige Verbesserungen und Updates und top Anbindung an Tidal sorgen für fast täglichen Einsatz. ### 5/5 — DSM *2025-04-06, version 4.8.0* Schlichtweg die beste App, welche ich bisher hatte. Habe verschiedene Streamer als auch Apps benutzt, Linn läuft stabil, der Softwaresupport ist schon immer großartig, egal ob Alter oder nagelneuer Streamer. Kinderleichte Handhabung, sehr übersichtlich. Alle anderen kommen da nicht ran, Naim ist auch sehr gut, doch die Linn Geräte haben für mich gewonnen, aufgrund der Modularität und das man dadurch sehr, sehr lange keinen Wunsch nach einem anderen Gerät mehr hat. Nur der Hardwarepreis bei Linn ist unsäglich. Wenn man aber seinen Erstgeborenen oder das ein oder andere Organ über hat, stellt es auch kein Problem dar. ### 5/5 — Passt *2025-03-21, version 4.7.11* Macht was sie soll.
