### 5/5 — Great interactive learning app

*2024-10-08, version 1.0.18.43*

This app is very well made, I’m impressed by the quality of its design and how interactive it is. It makes you feel like you’re playing a game at times to test your knowledge. I never leave reviews so that says a lot about this app

It’s amazing and useful but it has a few lessons the developers should complete it

### 5/5 — Great Learning App

*2023-11-09, version 1.0.13*

I thoroughly enjoyed learning some basic Linux commands through this app. It was fun and interactive. Way better than sitting through lectures or videos.

### 5/5 — An Amazing Resource for Learners

*2023-09-25, version 1.0.13*

This app does a wonderful job of explaining and describing Linux concepts that are much more straight forward than most text books. The games will engage the younger audience and will help the older audience more solidly grasp the command line tool by providing visuals to associate it with. I hope the app developers keep up the amazing work

### 5/5 — Pls fix zoomed in letters

*2023-02-23, version 1.0.8*

I cannot tap x for the permissions exercise, either let me zoom out and in or fix the zoomed in letters.

Great app for beginners! I am learning quickly

A great way to engage new students to the Linux Command Line!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Involves religious myths in the game

*2025-10-22, version 1.3.25.60*

Creator inserts religious myths into the game.

### 2/5 — Too difficult.

*2024-02-13, version 1.0.16.35*

I am a Microsoft DOS user. I know all about directories and changing directories and files and folders and such. also, I know a few basic Linux commands. But, progressing in this application, has proven to be more than difficult. I never know what the app wants. I never know how to get to the next screen. I’m stuck at the very beginning and cannot continue. That is a disappointment. I need to learn linux.

### 3/5 — Resolution issues in IOS

*2025-12-04, version 1.3.28.63*

Hi there,
I really like the app and the way it teaches you by having tou play along a storyline;however on my iphone 14 I was not able to go to far because I could not see the text on the left side of the screen.I tryiwd zooming out but that did not work

### 3/5 — Oligarch jumpscare

*2025-10-27, version 1.3.28.63*

Unfortunate. Otherwise fine

### 3/5 — Hmmm

*2025-04-04*

So the app has been great, so far. I seem to be encountering some strange Pro-Musk content that did not age well, however. It was clearly intended to be lighthearted, but seems like recent events have not been taken into account. Perhaps the developer is unaware of the current political climate, but it may be a good idea to go in and change a few names around to distance themselves from that.

### 3/5 — The Galaxy analogies are distracting

*2023-12-17, version 1.0.13*

I appreciate that this app was created, but there is way too much focus on comparing things to the solar sistema. My mind understands command structure; the galactic references come fuse me.

### 3/5 — Great app

*2023-01-28, version 1.0.8*

I love the app but it stops at file permissions current a student looking for a way to stay engaged is there any other chapters besides file permissions?

### 4/5 — Very cool

*2026-02-09, version 1.3.28.63*

It's a very interesting and cool concept.
I hope you keep this going and grow it into even more courses.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2026-04-22, version 1.3.28.63*

Without a doubt the best Linux learning app I’ve seen. Such a shame it’s unfinished as it’s without a doubt the best way to learn with the narrative element really helping me to remember.

### 5/5 — Binged without realizing

*2026-04-17, version 1.3.28.63*

I got hooked! It was the easiest way to learn. Great story to follow along while you learn the commands. Short readings that teach you what’s in the LPI! I want more!!

## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Fun for the basics

*2026-01-12, version 1.3.28.63*

This was a great way to review the basic terminal commands. Fun and interactive. Very well made with little cultural references. I’m keeping it around to see if there is an update someday.

### 5/5 — Very fun and helpful

*2025-12-10, version 1.3.28.63*

Keep it going. It is a little basic where I am right now but I haven’t gotten far.
I would suggest a toggle to be able to type
Also can you make this open source. I think it would be a great framework to be able to make new lessons and people can add more to the app
Keep it up!

### 5/5 — Genius

*2025-09-14, version 1.0.19.44*

I’ve dabbled with Linux in the past and pulled up commands online just to see how it worked. Although I’ve only gotten through the terminal nav this has been the most I’ve ever understood about using Linux. The analogy to the universe is utterly stunning; none other than genius. This has simplified it so much for me. I’ll admit I got stuck for a moment in the very beginning on the absolute vs relative part but then it clicked and became clear. I hope the company expands on this app because it’s such a pleasure to use. 5 stars, double thumbs up!

### 5/5 — Keep at it

*2025-07-23, version 1.0.19.44*

I know the title seems a little misleading, but I just wanna say keep at this app. It’s been a great source to start me back on the path to Linux. I’m planning on taking the Linux cert in a few months and when I pass im coming back to update this post and say how you helped me. So keep it up is more like it.

### 5/5 — Actually fun and helpful game

*2025-05-05, version 1.0.19.44*

Surprised to say I found a fun game that’s actually teaching me how to use my computer. And it’s FREE. Genuinely impressed to find something so awesome. And on iOS!?

### 5/5 — Came looking for copper and found gold

*2025-01-13, version 1.0.18.43*

Originally I was trying to see if the website “tryhackme” was on ios. Upon searching, I ended up stumbling on this. Looked promising, so the first thing I did was making sure if it was behind a paywall or not. I was glad to see that it wasn’t. I tried it out and it’s pretty solid for beginners getting into the linux OS. The galaxy analogy works perfect since I’m more of an analogy person myself. Definitely would recommend.

### 5/5 — Fantastic introduction

*2024-12-21, version 1.0.18.43*

This is a brilliant introduction to Linux. It is easy to learn, and teaches core skills. It is not very full yet, but hopefully the course will develop further with time.

### 5/5 — Helpful Supplement

*2024-11-09, version 1.0.18.43*

I’m a beginner Linux learner and found this really helpful to better understand the file system and permissions. The scenarios were fun and the allusions to current events and pop culture helped to connect the material.
