Browser apps that have something like a “submit” button permanently attached to the bottom of your screen can be obstructed by the browsers interface. ### 4/5 — A few suggestions…. *2022-11-09, version 4.0* I’ve been using Lion for a few months now, and overall, I really like it. I would like to make a few suggestions though and mention a few bugs. It would be great to be able to put a website as a Home Screen app rather than only being able to save it under Bookmarks and Quick Links. It would make it a lot easier to get to those that we really want to get quickly if we could select “Add to Home Screen” as an option. I also wish we could reorder Quick Links. Last thing on suggestions, please put a forward button at the bottom. There’s a back button but no forward button. Both would be nice. As far as bugs, sometimes when trying to go through all web pages open, if you click on one to bring it up, it doesn’t bring the webpage up. It basically gets stuck to where when tapping on it to select it, it acts like it’s already pulled up. Hard to explain but this happens when the dots appear at the bottom as you’re trying to go through webpages that are already open. Sometimes tapping on one won’t bring it up. And lastly, sometimes it’s hard to get the bottom navigation bar to come back up when on a page. You have to scroll all the way to the top and sometimes tap incessantly to get it to show back up. Just some suggestions/feedback. Overall, very thankful for this web browser. ### 4/5 — Bookmarks/Downloading *2020-03-03, version 3.2* I love this app so far. Fast and Clean Design! Something that always hold me back is Bookmarks and the UI. If this can sync across my devices awesome and if the bookmarks were cleaner such as folders perfect. Thank you for this. I can’t save anything to my files app or to my Dropbox. Links from my email app don’t open in web browser even if I hit share to lion button it errors out. **Developer response:** If you set Lion as your default browser that should take care of links in email opening correctly. As for the Files/Dropbox app we can look into those issues. All the best, Patrick ### 3/5 — App works sometimes *2020-03-02, version 3.2* Purchased the option for partners a few months back and has really worked well but recently have been having issues with it not searching at all. Remains on google.com as a blank, white page. Not sure what’s going on. I have cleared the caches and uninstalled twice with no luck. I have tried going 4G alone and on WiFi with the same issue persisting. Might have to look at other options because I can’t use this now. ### 4/5 — Sometimes no navigation, Links from texts *2019-05-13, version 2.5.2* I often get links to webpages from friends, which I have to copy and paste into the browser; if I tap the link in the message, the link will not open. If anything, it only allows opening the link in either Google or Safari, both of which I have deleted. Also, oftentimes I will be browsing and there simply won’t be any navigation toolbar (history, back, forward, etc), which means I have to close out the browser and reopen it. Otherwise, the app is worth it. I require the accountability and I am happy this browser is available. **Developer response:** Hey C.D., iOS now has the option to set a default browser. This will fix all of the issues you have with opening a link from another app. If you go into Lion's settings and tap "Change Default Browser" you can set the default browser to Lion. All the best, Patrick ### 3/5 — Annoying Bug Requiring Force Close *2019-02-11, version 2.5.1* Good app, one bug that is really annoying and happens frequently is all the all controls (such as the back button) will disappear and the only way to get it back is to force close the app and re-open it. Please fix this! **Developer response:** Hey Wizholt, Tapping the top of the screen where it shows the website name should bring back the bars. Please let me know if you have anymore issues. ### 4/5 — Some glitches but works well *2018-07-28, version 2.3* Pros: the accountability partner is a must and it’s what makes the app desirable. Fast browser. Cons: can’t open as default when clicked on a link in other apps, must use the “share” function; unable to type in the URL box to search in google when the search term is in a different language (Chinese) **Developer response:** Orion, You can now set Lion as your default browser. This fixes all of the problems with opening links from other apps. Please let me know if you need help setting it up. I wanted to check here first if there was a known issue. Pages crash - often. Phone crashes constantly as well. Simple things like google send it on a crazy refresh. All of my phone issues start at Lion. I appreciate that it’s helping me but my work is suffering particularly when I’m on the field and I can’t get on my laptop to research and verify information. As the app is frozen and overheating my phone I came to the AppStore to share this. I’m so defeated by my constant inability to get the simplest bit of information pulled up on lion. ### 1/5 — Will not open *2021-01-17, version 3.4.2* As of today, every time I try to use the app it crashes without starting. I have a lot of very important bookmarks so I am afraid to delete the app and lose them but am frustrated as the app is useless ### 1/5 — Did not work. Very poor assistance. *2020-11-30, version 3.4* I purchased the accountability partners function and added two valid email addresses. Neither email address received confirmation. I contacted customer service which went unanswered. After my second request, someone got back with me with additional questions. There was an endless amount of questions which took 24 hours for each question. Finally after about 10 days of going back and forth, I was told that they could not access their email provider. Buyer beware. **Developer response:** For whatever reason, hotmail.com email addresses do not play nicely with SendGrid, the email provider we use. Otherwise everything should work fine. We suggest using a different email address than hotmail.com ### 1/5 — App stopped working *2018-01-05, version 1.8* App does not work with IOS update. ### 1/5 — Suddenly doesn't work *2016-11-17, version 1.3.3* So the app has always had some problems; links from other apps don't open, runs kinda clunky etc... but today it stopped working. I opened a new tab and it was simply frozen. Close the app, reopen and it loads in a frozen state. Reboot the phone, try again and I get the same results. It doesn’t give you the ability to block anything either. Apple airplay does not work with it. No Adblock either. My job uses them for covid screening ### 2/5 — Tags unexplained *2019-09-20, version 2.5.3* I have had this accountability web browser for a few weeks and my accountability report had some shocking tags for common websites. Like WSBTV has inappropriate stuff tagging as orgies, lesbians etc. oh and using Google for anything will tag almost everything sex. It has pretty much made me not want to use the internet. **Developer response:** The tag algorithm has been improved. We also removed the tags from the email so it's less alarming. Reproduce by googling any image and trying to save it. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Best accountability browser out today. *2023-02-04, version 4.0* I started using Lion browser in 2018 during a very stressful time in my life. It is fast to download, and easy to use. The accountability emails work, and the bookmark feature is easy to use. Most of all, the owner himself has responded multiple times to questions I have had and has fixed them. I will be following this browser to see the next steps. (I do appreciate there is no subscription) 2 I’d like to search with DuckDuckGo but as far as I can see Google is my only built-in search option. 3 my accountability partner/s may like to see ALL the websites I’ve been on, not just what Lion thinks they should see. **Developer response:** Hi Godscarbonsteward, In response to your first concern, we do not penalize users for adding accountability partners. After you pay the one-time fee of $10 you can add unlimited accountability partners forever. We will never charge you again. For your second concern, we can look into allowing users to set default browsers inside of the app search bar, but for now I suggest setting DuckDuckGo as your homepage. And for the last concern, we haven't come across many users who have partners that want to see ALL the websites, but we can definitely look into adding that feature. Some nice to haves would be: Having auto complete searches in the browser bar. Something about flick scrolling seems a tiny bit off. I usually notice this when changing directions in scrolling. **Developer response:** Our latest update (4.0) adds Google search auto-complete suggestions.
