## What is Lioza?

Lioza is a calm, stone-drafting strategy board game. Draft stones, build your wall, and outwit your rival — every stone you take is one they can't have.

Easy to learn, hard to put down: your first round teaches you the game, and getting good is the fun part. A match runs about ten minutes.

• Free, ad-free, no pay-to-win — the whole game, free
• Two modes — play the Classic with a pre-defined board or Free Hand that gives you a blank canvas to lay your stones
• The honest bot — three strengths: Apprentice, Master, Grandmaster. It never peeks at hidden information and never gets a lucky "algorithm." It plays by the same rules you do. Beat it, and you earned it
• Play your way — solo vs the bot, Quick Match against a stranger, a private lobby with up to four friends, or pass & play on a single phone
• Works offline — the bot and pass & play need no connection
• No account to start — sign up only when you want to play online

Rooted in calçada, the hand-laid black-and-white stone pavement of Lisbon: pale pedra lioz set against dark basalt into waves you can walk across. Five mineral stones, laid one at a time, into something worth keeping.

And learn from Master Lio — the old calçada stone-mason who's the face of the honest bot.

Free. Ad-free. No pay-to-win. Ever.

### 5/5 — This game is top notch!

*2026-08-20*

When I first downloaded this game, I noticed that, while it was fully accessible to Voiceover users, the way it was designed, it was REALLY cluttered. For instance, I had to manually count EVERY SINGLE black stone in factory 1, or EVERY SINGLE blue stone in factory 5. I had to do the same thing with the center pool. I didn't like that, nor did I like that it wasn't telling me what move the computer made. So I emailed the developer and told him what accessibility improvements could be made for Voiceover users, and I noticed he made those improvements in this new update! I, as well as other Voiceover users, can play this game with COMPLETE confidence now! And I LOVE the free mode, because it gives me control over my walls! AWESOME! Looking forward to seeing what the next update of lioza will bring! FIVE STARS from me! Keep up the good work!

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.0.3 — 2026-08-26

Accessibility improvements and bug fixes

### 1.0.2 — 2026-08-19

Free Hand is here for everyone. Choose it on the home screen and play on a bare wall — you decide which square every stone goes to, and the row you're building is yours to shape.

End-of-game results are redesigned too: see who won, by how much, and exactly how the score was built.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-11

Every badge, newly carved.

All 19 progression badges are now crafted calçada medallions — basalt rims, terracotta inlays, and a distinct motif for each award — in place of the old shared frame. Worth a look in your profile.

Also fixed:
  • The round-start card sometimes named the wrong starting player, or didn't appear when you began a second game.
  • In solo and online matches you could tap during your opponent's turn and draft on their behalf.
  • The Google sign-in button now carries the Google mark.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-07

No release notes.
