## What is Liquid Gold?

Liquid Gold is a freezer inventory for pumped breast milk. It replaces the spreadsheet on the fridge and the sticky note on the freezer door.

Log bags as they go in. See exactly what you have. Take the oldest out first. That is the whole job, and it takes a few taps.

THE THAW PLANNER
Tell it you need 12 oz and it picks the exact bags to take out. It searches the combinations for the one closest to your number with the least left over. When two options tie it reaches for the older milk. Adjust anything before you confirm, then one tap moves them all.

WHAT YOU ACTUALLY HAVE
Bags are grouped by the day they were pumped, oldest first, so the milk that needs using sits at the top. Set what your baby drinks in a day and the total turns into days of cover. The app shows the figures it used, so the number is never a mystery.

THE 24 HOUR WINDOW
Milk thawed in the fridge should be used within 24 hours. Liquid Gold starts that clock the moment a bag comes out and counts it down. Bags near the end of the window get flagged, and anything past it is marked. This is CDC guidance, built in.

FRESHNESS AND STORAGE TIMES
Every bag shows its age. Past your own threshold it gets flagged, and past twelve months a firmer one. The full storage table lives in the app: countertop, fridge, freezer, deep freezer, and thawed milk. No searching for it one handed at 3am.

PUMP REMINDERS
Pick your interval, your hours and your days. Reminders stay inside that window and re-plan themselves every time you log a pump, so nothing nags you about a session you just did. The next few are listed so you can see what is coming. Snooze as often as you like.

MILK SCIENCE, WITH SOURCES
A different fact each day about what your milk is actually doing. Every one carries the paper or the guidance it came from. Nothing here is invented, and nothing is padded out with encouragement dressed up as science.

BUILT FOR 3AM
Full light and dark. A night check does not put a white screen in your face.

NO GOALS, NO SCORES
Liquid Gold never sets a target, never compares you to anyone, and never turns a slow session into a red number. It tells you what is in the freezer and helps you use it in the right order.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account. No ads. No analytics. No third party code. Your log and your settings sync through your own private iCloud, so they survive a lost phone and reach your other devices. The developer cannot read any of it. The app says plainly whether iCloud backup is actually on.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-09-07

Everything you do to your stash can now be undone.

Thaw a bag, throw one out, delete one by mistake. A small note appears for a few seconds and offers it straight back. The old "are you sure" question before a thaw is gone, because you can simply undo it.

A bag can be edited. Tap any row to fix the date or the amount you logged in a hurry.

Thawed milk gets an honest ending. Say whether it was used or wasted, and the fridge card keeps a quiet monthly tally of what went down the sink.

Your whole log can leave the phone as a spreadsheet, from Settings.

Smaller things: deleting a bag now takes it off your all time total, the reminders card tells you when notifications have been switched off, every button has its own feel, and the day counter no longer says "1 days".

### 1.3 — 2026-09-06

A quiet one.

If Liquid Gold has been useful, it will ask once whether you would leave a rating. Once, after you log a stash, and never while you are thawing or clearing something out. That is the only change in this version.

Ratings are how other pumping mothers find an app like this one, so it makes a real difference. If you would rather not, dismissing it is the end of it.

### 1.2 — 2026-08-29

The all time total is back. It sits under your freezer stash on the home screen and counts every ounce you have ever logged, thawed milk included.

Nothing was lost while it was away. The count kept running quietly in the background, so your real number is there the moment you open the app.

### 1.1 — 2026-08-21

A thawed bag now starts a 24 hour clock. Liquid Gold counts it down for you and flags anything close to the end, following CDC storage guidance. The full storage table is in the app too, under Settings.

The whole app has been redrawn, with a proper dark mode for night checks.

Every milk fact now shows its source. The thaw planner tells you how close the selection is to what you asked for. Settings say plainly whether your iCloud backup is on, and your settings now sync between devices alongside the milk log.
