It’s a useful app for people how do research and have hundres of pdf documents to absorb and linnk and understand. However, Every time I install the app on a new device I have a couple of days getting ti to recognize my unlimited subscription. I really think they should be able to fix this, It’s frustrating, and needlessly frustrating, and can do with out the AI guys, get the basics right first~ I would gladly give the app five starts if they could just take care of business. ### 4/5 — Dark Mode *2026-05-15, version 7.3.8* It is a great for research and studying lots of PDFs. I felt like there were so many issues not being addressed after repeated requests from users, and I did not think $135 a year was worth it for a service that was not actively listening to its users, and constantly having bug issues you would only expect from a newly developed program instead of an established one. I revisited the app today, and tried to find any updates to the app on their website, but they haven't posted any news since April 2025. Their Youtube channel posted recently, but aside from now being available for iPhone, there hasn't been many major updates besides their constant bug fixes. I then considered paying the one time fee for the pro version which is listed as $80 on their website, come to find out that it is listed as $100 on the app. They may have been named "Apple Most Innovative App of the Year" in 2015, but it is clear that the only things that have changed since then is their predictable, but no less disappointing, escalating monetization of a mediocre and underperforming product through overpriced subscriptions. Save your money! ### 3/5 — Integration with Logitech Muse *2026-04-06, version 7.3.0* There needs to be better integration with the Logitech muse and vision pro. I can write in free space, and I make links across the document, but the interface is clunky at the moment, I think developing this capability further will be a greatly enhance the use ability of LiquidText in the VisionPro space. ### 4/5 — Intuitive Workspace *2026-03-11, version 7.1.16* Love this app. Using it is intuitive and the functionality is wholly unique from other workspace apps and its utility is not a redundancy. Most importantly, it functions outside of the scope of the tools available within Apple’s own productivity suite. It’s a future-proof product that doesn’t need AI to remain useful and relevant. Its interface is simple while feeling futuristic. I cannot understate how appreciative I am that AI is not needlessly embedded into every facet of this app. I would appreciate if the developers would allocate some resources to improve the app’s compatibility with native iPadOS accessibility software, namely its screen reader. Currently, it’s abysmal and the team could stand to consult an actually blind or visually impaired person for tips and feedback on how to translate some of the app’s best elements into accessible form. My last note is that I so desperately wish the app was available as a one time payment rather than on a subscription basis. I understand the case for using a subscription model, but in a world where no one owns even licensure to anything anymore, it be great to make a lump sum payment. Thanks for this app and I look forward to using it for as long as it’s around! ### 4/5 — Images move while navigating *2026-02-22, version 7.1.16* Amazing app for integrated study and research. One issue I observed is that the images move while navigating the workbook, especially if I am zoomed into the image. This is the only note app which lets me zoom into the images this much, allows writing on top of them as well as on the pdfs while allowing cross referencing. But this bug of moving images make this experience a bummer. Please add an option to fix the images in their place, or make the navigation smart enough to not move the images. ### 4/5 — Great. . . But. . . *2026-01-16, version 7.1.12* This is an absolutely FANTASTIC product. Truly ground breaking. I am a recently retired physician. When I was in practice this was the absolute BEST way to read journal articles. I could make important facts jump out and easier to remember. Now I am retired and doing volunteer free medical care. I still have to read the journals but just can’t justify the price tag. I have become disillusioned by how everything is a subscription these days. I am on a subscription free diet. The free version is great but not a whole lot better than what I can do with any note taking app. So I have largely abandoned what was once among my most used apps. For professionals out there, I can’t recommend this highly enough. For the rest of us. . . , back to “Preview” or Apple Notes. ### 3/5 — Kindly support arabic *2026-01-15, version 7.1.12* This app is great for legal document discovery adding arabic would be great ### 4/5 — Excellent, not mature enough for the price. *2026-01-05, version 7.1.10* LiquidText does things that no other application does. Ink links are absolutely excellent and highly versatile. However, every time I leave this application, the workspace window crashes, and I have to restart the app. This instability is annoying, but does not cause me to lose work. Multi window support for iOS is rudimentary at best. I cannot open multiple windows of LiquidText while I’m working, which is just frustrating. Some features that are common across notetaking apps are missing from LiquidText for no reason. Good notes and all the others have OCR for handwritten text so that searches find your handwritten notes. This is missing. Other apps allow you to scale and rotate, handwritten objects to help you, organize yourself, as well as change colors of things. I use this to track what I understand and what I do not. LiquidText does not have this. In short, LiquidText is unique, but you will need to design a workflow that fits it before you are comfortable working with it. Additionally, expect some annoying bugs. I am not sure if I would purchase it at full price at this moment. The customer service department is decent though. ### 4/5 — Good App *2025-12-10, version 7.1.10* This is a good app. But the highlight doesn’t appear properly in the canvas on IPads. It does however work will in Windows 11. I guess it is because they use their own engine which has problem with iOS. ### 3/5 — Good but buggy especially on Mac *2025-12-01, version 7.1.5* I use this for legal work and while it’s better than just using a standalone PDF reader, there are things which are super annoying. First is that keyboard shortcuts on Mac have been disabled by recent updates and despite reporting this ages ago nothing has been done about it. This really slows me down a lot. Also, sometimes mouse scrolling becomes disabled after extended periods of use, so you’ve got to shut the app down and restart it. And sometimes the workspace just crashes - it become totally unresponsive and you can’t work with items there or even switch workspaces any more. ### 4/5 — Truly great idea, some issues *2025-11-25, version 7.1.5* I mostly use the iPadOS version for digesting medical articles. It was reasonably priced, and with some minor issues, when highlighting text, it is great. I can export the key concepts and excerpts to another PDF or Word document. They got greedy when they released the Mac version, and thus it will cost me more than it’s worth to pay for both, and have them sync. I’ll stick to using it on the iPad only, since with the Apple Pencil in hand, it’s a fairly natural workflow. ### 5/5 — Keeps Getting Better! *2025-11-19, version 7.1.5* I use Liquid Text as a teacher and as a writer. It allows me to collate related articles, documents, and websites. I can annotate them, keep notes on a subject that connects to the sources, and keep documents connected so I can easily switch among them as I teach. This has been among the most useful apps. Another thing I love about it is that the app is being actively developed. They keep coming out with USEFUL features, not just bells and whistles. Other people use this app much more rigorously than I, but even for my use case I find the paid subscription well worth the money. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Purchased app *2026-07-18, version 7.3.12* Bad business. Their new subscription service overpowers the app I paid for. If you moved to a subscription model, you should either allow people who purchased the original product to still access it, refund the purchase price, or at least offer a complementary subscription. What you have done is simply theft. ### 1/5 — Betrayal *2026-04-22, version 7.3.4* I started using this app at its early stage and was promised to get it for free for life for one time payment but now they went to monthly subscription model. For the last week, I have been receiving messages that my license is corrupt and I need to “restore purchases.” When I do that, it still tells me there is a problem with my license. I have reached out to support, who told me that have escalated it but “please be patient.” I get this message on both of my silicon Macs, plus my M4 iPad. Certes la réponse a été rapide mais clairement mon message n'a pas été lu (rédigé en anglais pourtant), ma pièce jointe (une copie d'écran) n'a certainement pas été consultée et on m'a dit de contacter Apple comme fin de non recevoir alors que la copie d'écran montre clairement que l'erreur est au niveau de l'application... Then ‘just’ every time I tried to export an outline. Now it crashes a few seconds after opening. I have tried deleting and reinstalling, etc. And nothing works. Waste of time and money. *2025-08-16, version 7.0.24* I bought the Live Unlimited version (for the obscene price of PHP3690) because the features looked promising. But to my dismay, the app is completely unusable! It would crash (as in freeze and then close) while I’m foing the simplest tasks, like writing notes or using the search function. It crashes every few minutes - this is not an exaggeration. It is not even remotely functional. Sent feedback through the app and email but got 0 responses. Asked for a refund because the app is totally useless, but received no response. As with any app, the more content you accumulate the more difficult it becomes to manage and organize it all. LT has it all — and their feedback feature is also good since they respond to you acknowledging and at times even incorporating the feature. ### 5/5 — Optimales Tool für effizientes Arbeiten *2026-06-25* Eine Softwarelösung die mein tägliches Arbeitsvolumen deutlich strukturierter und damit effizienter gemacht hat! Seit dem ich es z.B. in Gerichtlichen Verfahren benutze trage ich keine Berge von Akten mit mir herum sondern hab alles einfach auf meinem Ipad. Die ganze Akte mit zB. Einem Notizfeld in dem ich mir wichtige Anmerkungen zu einzelnen Stellen in der Akte mache und diese Punkte mit einem Strich von dem Punkt oben zu der Seite der Akte vwebunden hab, d,h. Wenn es zum Thema wird klicke ich nur oben auf den Punkt und der Bildschirm springt ohne lästiges Blättern im Aktenstapel direkt auf die entsprechende Seite der Akte wo ich mir schon neben den Seitentext einen textausszug herausgedrückt Oppeln hab wo dann noch Anmerkungen stehen sowie Vergleichurteile und kommentarlitertur zum fachlichen Bereich eingefügt werden.
