## What is Listen Art?

Tour the museum with a storyteller, not a textbook.

Listen Art offers time-based routes and carefully written, story-led audio for the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, the Louvre and the Uffizi. No dry encyclopedia entries — every stop has a scene, an anecdote, and a "look closer" moment.

WHAT YOU GET
• Routes for your time: 1.5, 2 or 2.5+ hour visits — pick what fits
• Story-led audio: natural, flowing narration in English and Turkish
• Start listening straight away: guides play over the internet, with no download to wait through
• Or take it with you: download before you travel and the guide plays with no connection at all
• Calm navigation: which room you are in, what is next — no clutter
• Lock-screen controls: pause and resume with your phone in your pocket

MUSEUMS
• Rijksmuseum (Amsterdam) — the Dutch Golden Age, from the Night Watch to Vermeer
• Van Gogh Museum (Amsterdam) — a life in colour, told through his letters
• Louvre (Paris) — 50 stops from Nike to the Mona Lisa, Mesopotamia to Napoleon
• Uffizi Gallery (Florence) — the Renaissance, from Botticelli's Venus to Leonardo's Annunciation

More museums are being added.

PRIVACY
Usage statistics are anonymous, never linked to your account, and can be switched off in Settings. What you type into search is never sent. There is no advertising tracking. Data is stored in the European Union.

All guides are free. Sign in with Apple or Google and start listening.

Nothing between you and the art: put your headphones on and hear the story.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.8 — 2026-08-19

This release fixes the listening controls, the cards and the wording.

- Pausing from the notification or lock screen no longer restarts the audio
- A stop that reaches its end falls silent; press play and it replays
- Audio no longer jumps to the speaker when Bluetooth headphones disconnect
- The Discover cards now show the museum building
- Terms of Service and Privacy Policy open from the sign-in screen
- The museum page no longer asks you to download before you can listen
- Text about purchases has been removed; the app is free
- If the app stops unexpectedly a technical report is now sent, anonymously,
stored in the European Union, and switchable off in Settings

### 1.0.3 — 2026-08-11

Listen without waiting
Guides now start straight away. You no longer have to download one before you can hear it.

Take it with you
The museum page shows what a guide weighs and starts the download from the same place, with live progress. A downloaded guide plays with no connection at all — which is what you want inside a museum, or abroad.

Move between galleries
Arrows at either edge walk you through the route, alongside the swipe.

Also: a tidier account screen, and a clearer notice when the connection struggles mid-listen.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-08-05

Search inside a guide
Look up a work or an artist by name and the guide takes you straight to that stop. If the work isn't on the route length you picked, we'll offer to switch.

Find your way
Every gallery now opens with a line telling you where you are, plus directions to the next work that you can fold away when you don't need them.

See the whole painting
Tap any artwork image to open it full size.

Know before you download
Museum pages now show how many works a guide covers and how much space it will take.

Faster and steadier
Audio and images now load from the edge of our network rather than the origin, and the app opens as soon as it's ready instead of waiting a fixed three seconds.

Also fixed: swiping back could leave the guide instead of returning to the previous gallery, search results didn't always land on the right stop, route-length labels were clipped, and the museum list reshuffled itself on launch.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-07-22

Refined discovery with search by city or museum, plus polish and reliability improvements.

### 1.0 — 2026-07-10

No release notes.
