You can’t select books, change books even you know your kids won’t like them, you cannot pause nor cancel subscriptions in the app. You will have to go to website and chat with a customer service to do that. I paid $120 membership a year just to find out that they send all the unpopular books that my kids don’t like. Such a waste of money and resources. 80% of people don’t like subscriptions because it’s so hard to cancel, pause or reschedule. This company seems don’t know it or doesn’t care. ### 3/5 — Needs revision *2025-08-14, version 1.19.0* The app is great for book shuffle and selecting which books we're keeping and check out, super user friendly and streamlined... for one child. I have two separate kid subscriptions (very different ages and interests), and I am unable to swap between the two subscriptions within the app. I can open settings and edit the basic profile of either child, but not jump into book shuffle or the check out page for either child. It will default to whichever child I was on from my email or the webpage and linked into the app from there. So to get to my second subscription I have to close out of the app and go back to my email and find one sent for the other subscription and go from there. ### 5/5 — Love love love *2025-07-08, version 1.19.0* I started this program with my daughter who is now 3! And we have a son now as well we use it for! We love the variety of books they send, the educational books they send that I probably would otherwise never stumble upon and the unique literati books too! ### 5/5 — Love love this *2025-04-15, version 1.19.0* First off I want to say, I’ve read through the reviews and people saying they just charge for shipping clearly did not buy any books or complete an order. It very clearly states it’s a $10 fee that then applies to the books, it doesn’t say you get it back if you don’t buy any books. I bought all the books because they are adorable (and I will get to this here in a second) and I was ONLY charged for the books and sales tax. NOT shipping. I only care to address this because we enjoy it so much I don’t want it to scare off people from getting to enjoy it too. I am more than impressed!! Each book was totally unique and perfect to his age. I spent $59 in total for the 5 books which is basically the same as I would on Amazon, without the effort of shopping. And I thought the choices were even better than what I’ve found myself!! (If you don’t want to pay $5-$15 a book this is probably not for you.) And it came with designed stickers with his name on it “this book belongs to (baby’s name)”. So cute!!! You just have to pick at least $10 worth of stuff each month it make it worth it. ### 4/5 — Bug jasonerror error 1 *2025-02-06, version 1.19.0* Please fix ### 2/5 — Refunding *2025-02-04, version 1.19.0* **I just want to point out This review is strictly on the refund process.** Last month, I subscribed to this for my daughter and thought it would be a great birthday gift for her. Sign up and subscription was very easy and the box Came within a week or so. Just in time for her birthday. My daughter loved all the books and read all of them within the month. She did not want to keep any so we sent them back. I was charged because I didn’t send the box back in time which was fine, but I reached out to customer support And let them know that I returned the box and the lady I spoke to said that once the box was received and processed, I would automatically be refunded the money for all the books which was about $55. I told her OK that’s fine and I wound up pausing my subscription due to financial things. So she put a note on my account that I would restart in a couple months when I was back on track. Fast-forward to today. it has now been over two weeks or more maybe since I have sent the box back on the app. It says that it was processed January 9, 2025. Well it today is February 4, 2025. A month and no refund. I usually reach out to customer support by phone and have never had an issue speaking to somebody until these past few days when I have tried to reach out again for the refund. I follow the prompts to speak to a team member and when I am connected I am hung up on. This has been going on for 4 days. Even calling at different times of day multiple times, it’s the same thing. Almost like they block your number. I don’t know I feel like that is very weird. So I sent an email this morning before writing this review kindly explaining the situation and that I would please like a refund. So I’m hoping to hear from someone before the end of today. And depending on the outcome of this, it will determine if we will be returning customers. Again this review is based on the refunding process. I hope nobody else has had this experience. But if you have you’re definitely not alone. ### 2/5 — Missing use cases *2024-12-16, version 1.19.0* The ability to see what is in a box that shipped is a key use case that is missing or isn’t easily discoverable if it’s in here. ### 5/5 — Everybody wants something for nothing *2024-08-09, version 1.19.0* A lot of these low star reviews seem to come from people who were financially irresponsible and needed to back track, not from those who sincerely didn’t appreciate the service, so I felt like I needed to leave a review too. It was very clear upon signing up what charges were to ensue (which is why I didn’t initially order due to my own budget at the time) and l in no way expected to pay only $10 for a box of 5 personally curated books. And shipping, potentially both ways if returning books, a cost on their end, even if it’s marketed as free shipping. Thus far I have had no issues, so I have no experience with their customer service, and I like the book shuffles where you can mark books that you already own as well as books that your kid would not be interested in. ### 1/5 — Cute books - make it VERY difficult to cancel *2024-05-10, version 1.19.0* It’s very hard for our family to return the books with both parents working and traveling for work. So although the books are cute, 5 books doesn’t equate to 40+ dollars for me. Also when you try to cancel your subscription the site forced you to go through a chat where there is no one on the other end…. Tried chatting multiple times with no response. So I’ve still not canceled and I’ve not found a number to call. ### 4/5 — Great but…. *2024-01-08, version 1.19.0* My son gets this for last couple years. His grandma sends it but we get a lot of things he’s not into. There should be a way via the app for the child to alter what they are receiving without having to get grandma to do it.
