This app charges you an arm & a leg for reading. After you’ve read so many chapters you no longer get to watch ads in exchange for a free chapter. They charge $5.99 for 2 chapters! I had 137 in coins or whatever it’s called. They took that plus the 5.99. I purchased. Only 2 chapters! Each chapter is 197 coins. What they give out in rewards it takes a week to come up with . After this story I’m deleting the app. They are money hungry! Not worth it ### 2/5 — Subscription Fees- Not Honest *2026-08-23, version 2.2.2* I just signed up for a month in app which shows the charge as $29.99. However, I was actually charged $44.98. Dishonest within minutes of making an account… not a great start. ### 2/5 — Decent Ap but WAYY to expensive *2026-08-20, version 2.2.2* I have to say I have always enjoyed the short stories, even though most of the plots are taken from published authors and adapted into something new. I don’t even mind the spelling, grammar, and plot hole issues. Honestly even the forgetting characters names doesn’t bother me I find it comical. As an avid reader, I enjoy supporting up and coming authors BUT to spend $300+ dollars on one story is INSANE. We don’t even pay that for PUBLISHED authors. I thought when you signed up for the subscription it was unlimited reading but I was mistaken. When I see over $300 taken from my account. Never in my life would I except something like that! Nor would I pay that… it’s an absolute rip off… sorry authors but that’s not okay! ### 4/5 — Definitely feels like a scam *2026-08-14, version 2.2.2* You would think paying 35.98 dollars you would at least be able to read one full book…. My only complaint would be not enough ways to earn points and some short chapters are a little high in points. I can’t put it down once I pick a book. I also like that while I’m reading it doesn’t disappear. Several other apps will delete or remove books from the app and I cant find or finish them. I have not had that problem with this app so far. ### 2/5 — Wow sooo expensive *2026-08-05, version 2.2.2* I’m giving this a 2 star rating due to how incredibly expensive it is to read the chapters.. if I were to actually pay to read the remainder of the story I’m currently reading..(which I really want to as it’s a pretty good story so far) it’s going to cost me WELL OVER $200. It’s ridiculous. I wish this was like other apps where you could get a subscription that allows you to read the whole story instead of paying for each chapter. Ugh I’m so sad I won’t be able to finish the story.. ### 3/5 — Great reads but don’t do it! You get sucked in and forced to buy coins or vouchers to finish the story. Only 2 short chapters for $15us . They start at 99 and keep going up. The free voucher options don’t give you enough to unlock most of the times. Do not recommend do not pass go do not spend $200 plus for a book that’s not in your physical possession!!! ### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time *2026-07-08, version 2.1.8* Paid the monthly subscription and couldn’t even read a whole book before I ran out only got to chapter 30 something. Complete scam ### 1/5 — Scam app don’t get. Shame. *2026-07-07, version 2.1.8* Sadly, the couple stories I tried to read were pretty good, the app is such a freaking scam, though that it’s impossible. You unlock chapters and then they re-lock themselves. You say I don’t wanna watch an ad and it plays anyway. You buy unlimited and then don’t get unlimited, things start locking again. Also, when you purchase beware if you’re in the US because you’ll get charged international on top of the price. What could’ve been a decent story app is completely ruined by the greed. You will spend more time watching ads that you don’t wanna watch, and cannot stop, than actually reading chapters. Plus, the chapters are pitifully short. You pay astronomical amount, amounts of coins or ad views for like three paragraphs. There are way better apps out there like GALATEA. ### 1/5 — Scam!!! *2026-06-30, version 2.1.8* I tried unsubscribing from your app. Clicking the link under manage subscription. It goes to my app stores and your app is not listed as one of the app I subscribed to but I am being charged for renewal. I want my refund. ### 1/5 — Expensive App *2026-06-30, version 2.1.7* The stories in this app are great. However, the price is not it! I have already spent around $80 and I’m only on chapter 89…. There is over 300 chapters in the book. The chapters are short and they cost 100+ coins. I purchased 3000 coins for $20. Doing the math, I will be paying well over $300 to read this book. The membership is also a ripoff. And I have played several of the games for free tokens and there is always an issue that they can’t pay me out. But I’m getting charged for this app. I have proof of all the charges to my account. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Can’t cancel subscription *2026-09-01, version 2.2.4* ** unless you want to be stuck with a subscription you can’t cancel don’t get this app** I’ve been trying to cancel my subscription since I signed up a month ago because they only give you like 30 coins a day and the chapters are 100+ coins per chapter. There is no subscription under my Apple ID from this company so I can’t cancel it there. Their website is useless and only has FAQ not related to cancelling the subscription. They go through a 3rd party app called stripe that can’t even find my subscription to cancel. They don’t answer emails so basically I’m stuck paying 20$ a month unless I cancel my card. If anyone that works at Literie reads these reviews please cancel my dang subscription, or give me the information I need to cancel it. There’s no excuse for having to jump through so many hoops to cancel a subscription. ### 1/5 — Unable to cancel *2026-09-01, version 2.2.4* Downloaded the app a couple of weeks ago to read a story. Naturally it got me to pay $8.99 to continue reading. Fine. Planned on just cancelling after it was set up to continue. Well I haven’t ever dealt with an app being impossible to cancel. I have gone through the app & website & followed instructions on cancelling the app without success. I was now charged $9.99 2 more times (weekly) for apparently a weekly subscription?! Cancelling process says to go to subscriptions in My App Store. It doesn’t shows there or in purchases. I have spoken to Apple twice & they see absolutely no history of this anywhere on my account despite me being charged through Apple wallet. I have emailed Literie twice at the email they provide on their site with no response. I tried to come here for an option & the app help just sends me to the web to the same email. I have called my bank however they report they can only dispute what has been charged & not stop the company from charging. I’m perfectly willing to pay for a book, but almost $200 is no where close to a reasonable price. It’s like having a favorite tv series, where you have to wait until the next week to watch. You get a little obsessed! 😍 ### 5/5 — Good titles, no customer service whatsoever *2026-02-21* Hey so I will rate the app highly or this will get buried. Essentially I was regularly getting coins because I enjoyed the content. Decided to try the membership. Apple charged me…. But I never got the membership and no matter how many different ways I tried to contact them (5 times by email with photos showing what Apple had charged and the record that they had not given me credit) I have not purchased anything since. I will keep reading but they lost me as far as ever paying again. Note that the coins always showed just not the membership coins. So be cautious and don’t pay them. Alpha novel and NovelFlow are better apps they just don’t have as extensive a lineup of stories that this app has.
