### 4/5 — Fun, easy to keep up with, interesting

*2026-03-25*

I really enjoy this app, I think it is a great social media space for readers. It's fun posting about books or posting book reviews and seeing what other users post in a platform specifically designated for social media. It's easy to navigate compared to other book-specific apps, and the community that has formed there is wonderful to engage with. Users are always hosting challenges, posting interesting reviews or insights, and engaging with each other in a way that feels meaningful. I do wish I could post more than a single photo at a time.

### 2/5 — It WAS great…

*2024-10-07*

I used to love Litsy, but the app now has so many bugs that I can’t use it. It hasn’t been updated in 5 years, so that’s not shocking!

### 4/5 — Almost perfect!

*2022-01-02, version 2.0.3*

I love this app. I mean it! I have made friends, exchanged books, joined reading groups, sent snd received presents. Love it! The people are ALL bookish and kind. My ONLY complaint is not being able to zoom in on a photo so we can see details. That’s really it. Please fix this one flaw. 💗😁

### 4/5 — Unique and Friendly

*2021-02-26*

Relatively good app so far, easy to use and filled with nice people. I love the unique concept of an app dedicated for book lovers. Though I wish it had a larger user base so that posts would get more interaction and that the occasional slow loading of the app would be fixed. Most importantly, are there going to be any updates on this app? I don’t want to get invested in an app that has been abandoned by the developers...

### 3/5 — Not like it used to be

*2020-04-05*

I have had Litsy for a year now and when I initially started using it, I loved it. Everyone was using it for the way it was intended. Posting their recent reads, quotes from books, and adding reviews.

Within the last few months, the community has taken a turn and now just treat it like Instagram. I have to hunt for review posts. I love the quick review posts this app offers as it’s a quick and straight to the point and has helped me decide if I want to pick a book up or not. But with so many in the community using it has a hangout platform to host games and challenges and no way to actually weed these particular posts out, I no longer see review posts anymore.

I have been utilizing the heck out of the block/mute feature but it gets tiresome having to update it all the time.

It would be wonderful if there was a way to view posts based on what type: quote, blurb or review, since those are the three types the platform lets you post under.

I have met some amazingly nice people on there and I like to use it for how it was intended. I just wish there was an easier way to navigate it to find what I want, since it’s community has grown.

It’s just heavily overrun with game posts and monthly photo challenges. I just want quick reviews and blurbs about books, and conversations about books.

### 3/5 — Very hard to use!!!

*2020-01-06, version 2.0.3*

Perhaps I should have watched the tutorial at the beginning on how to use the app, however, that still doesn’t change the fact that the app is very hard to use. It’s not intuitive at all. And it also has buttons that don’t look like buttons at all

### 4/5 — Better than Goodreads imho

*2019-11-26, version 2.0.3*

I am glad litsy exists. Goodreads feed is filled up with things I don’t really care about. Litsy looks clean and isn’t as messy. I prefer goodreads challenge, books I’ve read tracking and stats, and reviews. But if I’m I’m the mood to scroll, litsy wins every time.

### 3/5 — Ahh

*2019-11-25, version 2.0.3*

See, my goodreads is attached to my kindle, but I like this app better. But then I have to use both at once for updating my reading, I wish there was a way goodreads could connect, so I don’t have to add all the books I’ve read and am reading to both

### 2/5 — Love the app, buggy lately

*2019-11-09, version 2.0.3*

I LOVE Litsy. Lately it’s been super buggy though. I have the newest iPhone and when I’m scrolling I am constantly being redirected to links that I’m not clicking on. I can’t just scroll through anymore and so I’ve been using it less and less. Used to be on all the time and I think the last time I posted was a few weeks ago. Hope they fix this soon! It was my favorite social media app.

### 2/5 — Doesn’t cut it

*2019-08-24, version 2.0.3*

Books in a series not numbered
No HD for iPad
Clunky

### 4/5 — Love it!

*2019-07-29*

Have been using this app for over a year now and it’s great!

I just wish there was an easier way to navigate your older posts to find posts you’ve made about particular books. For instance, it’d be great if when you clicked on the profile for a book, all your posts about it were pinned to the top instead of all users’ posts being chronological.

### 2/5 — So slow and unintuitive

*2019-05-13, version 2.0.3*

No autocomplete in search
Lots of duplicates
Unintuitive UI
Sloooooooow
Suggestion of friends for no apparent reason
Stream of book cover photos, limited value

The idea is definitely interesting, please improve

### 3/5 — Bad UI, not very intuitive.

*2019-05-02, version 2.0.3*

The UI (user interface) for this app is not very good. Even with the walk through, it took 20 minutes to figure out how to add a book to a list. This app has potential to be really good, things just need to be more clear.

### 1/5 — Not working

*2019-02-13, version 2.0.2*

After the update, my app is not working! Nothing is loading! I love this app, so please fix!

### 4/5 — Schlechtes Update

*2019-02-12*

Seit dem letzten Update geht gar nichts mehr. Bitte fixen!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — The password!

*2026-07-09, version 2.0.3*

What!?🤬 I can’t set up an account because my password doesn’t meet the requirements. “Must contain letters and number and special characters and be at least 30!!(really) characters long?” Are you kidding? That’s ridiculous.

### 1/5 — Won’t open half the time

*2024-06-19, version 2.0.3*

I used to love this app but now I never know from one day to the next if I can even get on it. Half the time I get a message “unable to check environment”, whatever that means. And clicking “app support” here just takes you to Librarything. I thought maybe I’d missed an update but apparently the last one was five years ago so I guess the creators have just abandoned it.

### 1/5 — Recent issues

*2023-06-05, version 2.0.3*

Recently I was logged out and cannot log back in due to I always used Facebook as my log in and it gives an error.. so after being a user from the beginning of the app I have to start anew.. frustrated. I love litsy but looks like they need to do some app maintence

### 1/5 — No idea what possible use it could be

*2020-08-12, version 2.0.3*

No idea what use it could possibly be since there appears no way to add the books I’ve finished reading, am reading, or want to read.

### 1/5 — Why did you delete my review

*2020-08-10, version 2.0.3*

I couldn’t log into the account because it says Forbidden. Is this how you treat your users?

### 1/5 — No longer a BOOK group

*2020-04-09, version 2.0.3*

Too much off topic conversation. 👎🏼👎🏼

### 1/5 — Ur mom

*2020-03-24*

This app is lit Zoe

### 1/5 — Used to love it, now it doesn’t work

*2020-02-09, version 2.0.3*

I have an iPhone 8 that is fully updated and the app no longer works. I used to love this app but now have to go to the website which is clunky and a pain. I wish they would fix it!

### 1/5 — Where are the books?

*2019-08-16, version 2.0.3*

I downloaded this app, opened it for the first time and the very first post I saw was someone showing off their new haircut. This is not the app I was looking for.

### 1/5 — Update fail

*2019-02-14, version 2.0.3*

After the latest update, the app is blank. Nothing loads. Please fix this!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Perfect for Booklovers

*2021-02-20*

I’ve been on Litsy for about 3 years now, and I have to say it’s my favorite book space/social media. Everyone talks about books, bookish things, and sometimes other things going on in their lives that makes you feel more connected with a person than on other sites. Everyone is very friendly and it’s fun to have a debate on a book, passage, or discussion. Some even post buddy reading days, readathon weekends/holidays, and book club reads! Overall it’s my favorite safe place.

### 5/5 — My favorite bookish app

*2020-03-02, version 2.0.3*

The community of Litsy is simply amazing. Everyone is so friendly and supportive. I never feel judged for gushing about whatever book I just read that I’m writing on there about. There’s always fun swaps and reading challenges going on. Absolutely love this app.

### 5/5 — The perfect social media app for book lovers

*2019-01-23, version 2.0.1*

Litsy is the perfect combination of Instagram and Goodreads! I love how focused it is on all things related to books, and it’s also very interactive.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2019-01-22, version 2.0.1*

I’ve been looking for an app to track the books I’ve read and list what I want to read. This app does that and soooo much more!!! Love it 💛

### 5/5 — Bookstagrammer’s dream!

*2019-01-15, version 2.0.1*

This is the app every book lover needs. Makes it so easy and fun to share books. My wish: uploading my books straight from Goodreads! I can’t wait to see the updates!

### 5/5 — Books books and friends

*2019-01-12*

This is a great app for book lovers, who want to share their experiences! I love hearing what people are reading and getting ideas of what to read next. The app has a friendly user interface. I like they way you can earn points (Litfluences) by reading, interacting with other users, posting blurbs and photos too. Highly recommended for any book lovers.

### 5/5 — Great app.

*2019-01-10*

I love it! It’s good to have a place focused purely on books and reading. It’s also good to keep track of how many books I’ve read so far. I recommend it for all book lovers and even for those wanting to get back into reading.
