This can’t be necessary. If I’m picking litter in an area without good connectivity I may have to wait for several minutes to be able to use it. ### 4/5 — Litter Lotto *2024-11-21, version 1.7.1* This is a great initiative and I use the app pretty well every day. It does have an annoying habit of crashing occasionally but otherwise is easy to use. Fingers crossed, may win a prize too! ### 3/5 — Takes longer now since changes *2024-10-17, version 1.7.1* Still enjoy this app & the idea of encouraging disposing of litter & recycling more at home is a fantastic idea & the competitive element is fun & the rewards very useful & you feel rewarded for doing the right thing. However since the new upgrade it takes much longer not so much fun when disposing of litter in a public bin getting strange looks photographing & waiting or in the rain by outside recycling bins at home. Yes you can save the photos & upload but this sometimes gets stuck & you have to delete the app loose your photos & reload app. Also one of the new features the waste/bin day reminder is great but mine reminds me just before midnight on the collection day when it has been collected hours before or I had forgotten the reminder would be too late. There also seem to be less coins it seems to if it gives you recycling advice it doesn’t tell you if it’s been submitted or not. ### 3/5 — Give participants a fairer chance *2024-10-09, version 1.7.1* It’s great to have an incentive to keep our parks and other outdoor spaces clean and tidy but in the 18 months I’ve spent using it despite winning lots of coins and entering lots of the different prize draws I’ve not won any prizes. I think there should be lots of smaller prizes that more participants can win because it doesn’t feel like enough people currently get awarded for their efforts. ### 4/5 — Great app overall *2024-09-17, version 1.7.1* Overall a great app but would love to see some points below added! Have seen so much change and used to get more cash rewards. However I get that the bigger the app gets they need to move to a fairer system! Love being able to redeem my points for bonus entries. 3 things I’d love to see!: 1. When you bin litter it asks if it’s overflowing or not in red and green. I always press the green button thinking that’s no but it’s YES. Green should means the bin is ok. Be ideal to have a button saying “report bin issues” rather than it asking each time? This way you could also add reports such as vandalised bins, not just overflowing. 2. It says participating councils but doesn’t show a list of them. Be able to tell by geolocation if your council is involved in the higher cash prizes. 3. Be able to see a leaderboard list for people in your city/nationwide and be able to choose a username for it (similar to instagram/Twitter etc) this will promote competition! Will continue to use and thank you. ### 4/5 — Love the idea but the app could use some work *2024-09-09, version 1.7.1* Amazing way to get chances to win prizes for something I was already doing - picking up litter. My app is a little bit unclear with the prizes. It’d be good if where I could see my recent transactions, if it tells you when the prize is due to be drawn. Currently I have 4 that I have entered but no idea when they’ll be drawn, if they haven’t already. Where it says about the weekly jackpot, it doesn’t tell me when it’s due to be drawn either. Which is strange because the photos of the app on the App Store says that it should, so presuming this is just a bug? Many times trying to upload my photos it says an error has occurred, please try again later. There’s no obvious cause to this. Sometimes I can upload photos and other times I can’t. All in all the idea is good but the app just needs some work to be great. ### 3/5 — Brilliant idea but app needs work *2024-08-05, version 1.6.8* I’m so impressed by the idea of LitterLotto. Carrot, not stick - perfect! But my first foray into this app has been infuriating. 1 When creating an account, there’s an odd page about third party access to my contact details. It’s not clear if you leave the boxes ticked or unticked if, like me, you don’t want emails from ‘trusted partners’ A pop up says if you’re not sure, you can fix this in settings later. Well, you can’t because there’s no such option in settings. 2 The LitterLotto Legends page says to swipe to see winners - that doesn’t work either. 3 I tried to pass all this on to developers via the contact form, but the lime green text kept jumping about and I had to abandon it before it made me sick. I think the idea is so good, I plan to promote the app as widely as I can. Hope you’ll fix the bugs tho. ### 4/5 — Looking forward to using this app *2024-05-09, version 1.6.5* Unfortunately I didn’t really know what I was doing first time around and didn’t also save photos to my phone. Would be nice if you could download the photos you have taken so I can see my before and after work, and post this on Facebook. ### 4/5 — Great idea *2023-08-08, version 1.4.8* As someone who tries to wait until I get near a bin to get rid of anything this app is great! Not only does it motivate more people to start binning their litter it rewards people that have been doing it for a while. Obviously the app isn’t 100% yet but no app is without fault. And the attentiveness of the support team is brilliant. The only reason it’s not five stars as I said is because there’s some minor fault in the app (crashes, freezing…) but nothing the devs aren’t working on I assume. Once those are fixed this app will be a game changer. ### 3/5 — Good at first *2022-12-28, version 1.4.4* Was good at first I won quite a few £5 spot prizes and was paid fairly quickly, but nothing for about 6 weeks, doesn’t seem like they’re paying out now. So I’m bored with it, and all the mucking about, will delete it. Shame ### 5/5 — I’ve won £15 already *2022-09-23, version 1.4.0* Great little app, promotes binning your trash which will appeal to all people when there’s a chance of winning a prize. I use McDonald’s regular so thought I’d download and see what all the fuss is about. I’ve won 3 £5 spot prizes in less than a month and been paid into my bank which I was sceptical would ever happen - but it did. I use this every day and I’ve got my friends obsessed with it too. Well done litter lotto. ### 5/5 — It Really Does Work! *2022-09-23, version 1.4.0* So a friend recommended the app and within a couple of days I’d won a spot prize of a fiver! Another friend had won a £1,000 in the monthly draw. We all collect litter when we’re out and about and this app is a fun way to get rewarded. Content could not be loaded” ### 1/5 — Unable to register *2025-06-15, version 1.8.1* On the registration page the app isn’t allowing me to enter my first and last names ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2025-05-26, version 1.8.1* Unable to put details in not keeping numbers in phone number waste of time ### 1/5 — Used for ages now can’t use or get support! *2025-02-22, version 1.7.3* I’m a previous Council winner and have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, updates, etc and nothing is working to upload photos. It reinstalls and appears to work but no photos can be uploaded or saved. Contact support doesn’t work either. Will have to stop using if I can’t get support. Suboptimal! ### 1/5 — Swapped cash reward for “coins” *2023-09-20, version 1.5.4* My cash reward pot that I had been saving disappeared from the app once they switched to “coins”. I’ve messaged the help bot 5+ times and never received a response as to how to get the cash reward in my bank. I’ve also messaged on social media and been ignored. Pretty poor customer service and feel like I’ve just missed out on my owed cash ### 1/5 — Rejects prizes *2022-10-10, version 1.4.1* My partner and I both won prizes, but both were rejected by litter lotto. There are a bunch of T&Cs that aren't on the app but got messaged to us after we won. One of our wins followed all the T&C and was still rejected. Found it a waste of time. ### 1/5 — Prizes *2022-10-07, version 1.4.1* Do people only win prizes if they allow notifications ? ### 1/5 — Was great until the update 🤷🏽‍♀️ *2022-07-20, version 1.2.1* Was working fine. Although I submitted a lot and never won any spot prizes at all. Since the last update none of my photos will upload. They keep getting stuck on ‘not much longer’ (ironically!). I’ll be disappointed if it isn’t fixed. Edit: won’t even let me log on now. Been pressing log in multiple times and nothing. Pressed it and waited four minutes. Nothing. I honestly don’t think this app is fit for purpose!! I’ve been playing litter lotto for just over a year now and have won lots of good prizes. The odds are pretty good if you eat lots of on-the-go food or if you have the amounts of litter there is around where I live.
